I will absolutely drive fifteen minutes out of my way to return to this liquor store. This place is HUGE. I suppose that’s why they call it a liquor warehouse. Anyway, the sales associate was extremely helpful and knowledgable. We asked for help locating a specific wine and he instantly knew what we were talking about and where we could find it. We then asked for some Not Your Father’s Root Beer and he showed us where it was, told us there was another brand, and compared and contrasted the differences for us. He also laughed at my jokes. Which is really great, because I’m definitely not funny.

I am HIGHLY agitated, as I just visited this location at 9:57pm, on a Saturday night, and was met at the door by a VERY rude individual. He informed me they were closed. When I showed him the time on my iPhone, he said«we have a different time in there». I told him that the giant clock over both doors read 9:54pm. He again stated they were closing, and physically blocked me from entering. I would have gone earlier, but had just gotten off work. I am fuming right now, and can honestly say, I will never visit this place again.

I go here pretty often and really like it, especially after the new remodel. Its got a pretty big selection but it a little more expensive then other stores. I also go to an MGM in my area and the bottles are maybe $ 2 cheaper over there and I’m not sure why. But the staff at this one are pretty helpful and I’ve never been disappointed.

As municipal liquor stores go, this is really quite nice. The newly renovated storefront is bright, well organized and spacious. Sure they don’t have the same wall of obscure craft beers or ancient rare scotches that you might find at Zipp’s or Surdyk’s, but that’s why Minneapolis is better than Fridley. The people are friendly and the web coupon is a great way to make your dollar go farther(15% farther, to be precise). I went there to pick up the refill to my new Draftmark tap beer system and was in and out in 5 minutes. If you have to shop there, because you live in Fridley and just need to pick stuff up for the weekend party you forgot to buy beer for, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

City owned liqour stores.YUCK.high prices, low selection, odd layout. I only go if I’m too lazy to make the trip a little further down the road or by chance the beer I want is on sale. They keep Tanqueray behind the counter… TANQUERAY…this isn’t high end product, but apparently people walk off with it. Rather frustrating when you walk to the very back of the store and only gin you see is seagrams and other bottom shelf crap. few empty bottles of nicer gin to show they carry it, no mention or sign that Tanqueray is upfront behind the counter.

Having just moved to the Minneapolis area, it’s very important to find your local liquor dispensory… and this is mine. Close to home and with a decent selection, I’m a fan! Although I still have problems finding the door as the entrance is completely covered with ads, these things take time.
