History

Established in 1921.

In 1921 Bob Westerlund opened Fremont Barbers In 1953 James Rust bought the shop after Mr. Westerlund died and sold it to Scott Stroud in 1990 In 2011 Scott sold Fremont Barbers to Mike Stoffel and he has revived the «lost“art of Straightedge Steam shaves and has brought a wider range of haistyles from very long to very short!

Michael is a great barber, and he is currently the only one that I will patronize. He is very particular about his work and will take the extra time to make absolutely sure that the cut is right. The hot shaving cream straight razor shave at the end is an added bonus that makes it all the more worthwhile. It is definitely worth it to go a little out of the way to visit this establishment, because he may just become your last barber. In addition, he is quite personable and will talk to you about anything.

First time visit here since my regular barber is on vacation. Great timing, as I walked in as Mike was just finishing up with an older fella. Just had to wait a couple minutes and I was in the chair. Mike was not in a rush, chatting with me as he cut my hair. Very reasonable price ($ 15) and nothing like having the neck cleaned up with a hot lather and a straight edge! Next time may have to get the full face shave ($ 15).

This was my first experience going to a real barbershop and I was very satisfied with the way Mike cut my hair. I have gone to the discount hair shops (Great Clips, etc.) for years and have often had sub-​par results – this is not the case at Fremont Barbers! Mike does an excellent job and works hard to make sure that his customers are satisfied with their cuts. Fremont Barbers is my new «go-​to» shop for all of my hair care needs!
