Description

Specialties

Fired Up Studios is a community pottery studio located in Minneapolis, MN. It was created to provide the space and equipment to allow clay artists and potters of all levels to explore their creativity and work in a supportive environment. We offer a variety of services including a retail gallery, pottery classes, and membership options.

History

Established in 1998.

The original concept of Fired Up Studios was to meet the needs of hobbyist potters by developing a comfortable, non-judgmental, and respectful place where they could create and get their work fired. We quickly learned that our members wanted a place to display their work, so we added a members gallery and started our Annual Holiday Sale. Our gallery customers wanted to learn to make pots of their own, and soon we were offering beginning pottery classes. We most recently added Clay Dates for our customers looking for an interesting evening out or just wanting to give pottery a spin. We are continuously evaluating the services we offer with what our customers are asking for, but what has never changed is our mission: for our customers to have fun and leave in a better mood than when they arrived. And according to our members, we are doing a good job.

Meet the Business Owner

Beth R.

Business Owner

Prior to starting Fired Up Studios, Beth worked in the telecommunications industry for 15 years. When she decided that she needed more balance in her life, she started taking pottery classes at Northern Clay Center. She soon became aware that many students were taking classes just to have a place to work, and that was when she got the idea for Fired Up Studios. One interesting fact is that Beth is the only person at Fired Up Studios who is not a potter. She believes this is a major factor in the success of Fired Up Studios. It allows her to stay true to the mission «for our customers to have fun and leave in a better mood than when they arrived.»
