Honest and reliable auto mechanics. Can’t ask for much more than that. I’ve used them 3 times so far and all prices were fair and honest assessments were given. They offer a AAA discount as well.

I’ve brought my car here once so far and they fixed the issue right away without problems. I had gone to Midas a few times prior to coming here and they gave me all these extra fixes instead of just fixing the issue at hand. Either Midas lied about what was wrong to get me to pay for more «extra» things or they are just not qualified mechanics. Either way that doesn’t say much about them. I’m really happy with the quality of work done to my car at Dunrite and I was also referred here by my employer who brings all their trucks here. So far they have been honest up front and helped me save on «extra» repairs I don’t need in the first place.

My left light blew and I came here to replace it. It was done reasonably quickly and costs $ 67. I have a Volvo, and I am somewhat used to the high price of every repair. However, the next week the right light went out. We took it to the volvo certified mechanic, because we were fearful there was something up with the electrics and they replaced it for $ 39. Thats a $ 28 difference… But the rest was ok I guess.

Phil and Tim at Dunrite once again were able to take care of my vehicle with fast service at a reasonable price and with great communication. For over 7 years they’ve been doing good work on both of my vehicles.

I’ve been to Dunrite twice now and had great experiences both times. Last summer they patched a tire for me and recommended a great guy to replace a cracked windshield (Corey Burlingame at Metro Auto Glass), both are still in excellent condition a year later.
Recently I was in to get a dreaded clunk checked out, I was given an accurate estimate, was able to get in with a same day appointment, and have my car back before the end of the night.
The guys here are very friendly, I never feel intimidated or stupid when I call or go in, even though I’m car-​clueless.
The only «issue» I have is that they won’t take a payment over the phone so after I dropped my car off and got an estimate, I had to go back and pay so I could pick up my car after hours. Would be nice to have been able to give my payment info over the phone and avoid an extra trip into the shop. Otherwise I love this place and would absolutely recommend it to a friend!

My car is a 2003 Mazda, at this is 2013 so it is in the phase where it needs a little help a few times a year. I have brought it in three times to Dunrite over the last 1.5 years and the gentlemen running the place are professional, courteous, and provide the service that I expect from any professional repair shop. The estimates are solid and the repairs are on time and have not failed. Even though they appear very busy and their lot is full of repairs each visit, they get me in within a day for the repair. I know nothing of the repair business, but as far as the prices: they seem fair and I’ve never had sticker shock at the estimates. I’d recommend them without hesitation.

I am VERY picky when I choose any car maintenance.
I research all that I can and I have repeatedly had great service with Dunrite Automotive.
I can depend on Phil to help get my Volvo in to an appointment and he will answer my questions and explain the estimate of any work that they deem needed. Phil and Timothy are ethical and professional and they take their reputation very seriously and that is important to me when I look for car care. Quality and integrity — I recommend them because I know I can count on them and their reputation is earned.
I continue to use their car care service — probably 5 years now.
I trust the quality of the work!
I have had brake work and other minor to medium repair issues on my 98′ Volvo — all work has been satisfactory and I am happy with the results.
I found them because they are highly rated at Triple A — Auto club.

UPDATE: More problems possibly related to Dunrite. This time, it was a serious safety hazard!
Recently, my left outer tie rod bolt snapped in half while I was trying to pull out of a parallel parking space rendering my car useless. In April of 2011, I had Dunrite replace my inner and outer left tie rod (which resulted in the whole aforementioned alignment/​tire wear dispute of my earlier reviews). In a little over one year I had to replace that same outer tie rod. The mechanic and several others I posed the question to said they had never seen the bolt portion of the tie rod ball joint (that inserts into the steering knuckle on the wheel) snap in half like it had.
So, I’m left with three possibilities:
1. They installed a cheap part and charged me for a quality (or semi-​quality) part and didn’t give a damn about my safety.
2. I hit a MASSIVE pothole somewhere, sometime, that broke the bolt halfway, then it completely broke when the wheel was turned and found resistance from the curb.
3. The bolt/​ball socket was poorly manufactured from the start and independent of the quality of the whole part, which means it wouldn’t have mattered who installed it.
Considering Dunrite’s history with me, as far as I’m concerned I’m inclined to believe this was an inferior part overall and was charged for an equally-​priced or more expensive part. Or the bolt was either under-​or over-​tightened causing stress leading to the bolt breaking.
Regardless of the details, the fact that this bolt broke is EXTREMELY dangerous! I am lucky I wasn’t driving on the interstate at 65 MPH when it snapped! I feel it’s important for Dunrite to be aware this happened so they can either investigate further into the part quality of their supplier, think about the way they conduct business or acknowledge their mistake and come clean for the safety of their customers!
This shop, the owner, manager and mechanics need to be vigilant about safety. This is one too many safety issues related to my car and to Dunrite inspection or repair work. Own your mistakes and people will respect you more. No matter how many times you’ve been AAA rated, your mistakes are your own.

Took my son’s car here for a bad miss. Was told it was an ignition control module. Estimate breakdown: $ 124.00 for diagnosis, $ 350.00 parts, $ 150.00 labor. With tax, addons, etc $ 650.00. We said no thanks. Went to John’s Auto parts, got a used coil pack including the ignition control module and installed it in, literally, 10 minutes… neither one of us being mechanics. So, let me get this straight, I pay you $ 650 or I spend $ 25 and a few hours of time. Hmmmm. While the Diagnosis may have been worth $ 75.00, it wasn’t worth $ 124.00! The whole experience was a joke. Don’t waste your time.

Being new to the Twin Cities a few years back, I stumbled across this neighborhood auto shop when my car broke down on the way to the airport. I had no clue who to trust and followed the direction of the tow truck driver that suggested Dunrite. Who was I to argue? I was miles from home and hadn’t networked myself to know any better.
I dropped off my car and navigated the bus system back home thinking that this repair was going to do me in. The next day Dunrite called with the verdict. Blown head gasket and a damaged alternator. UGH! The estimation turned out to be a lot lower than expected. A lot lower. SCORE! The repair took a day and I was back on the road again.
Considering the age of my car, I have been back several times and have always been greatly satisfied with their work and honesty. Even though this place is far from home and work, I will always trust them with my car and recommend this place to friends.
