Our office go to for cake pops; although I have been dying to try the house are granola and vanilla bean cheesecake!

Once you take a bite of anything in here the first thing you notice is the quality of it. The rich, yet not too rich chocolate. The way the carrot cake cookie melts decadently in your mouth and how beautiful everything is.
It’s a small store, beautifully yet simply appointed. The girl behind the counter could have been a little nicer. She was very direct and worked with purpose. Which is okay, but I like friendly. I AM in Minnesota, right?
At any rate, you’ll forget all about who is behind the counter when you see what’s in front of you. These desserts are high quality, excellent tasting and really just indulgent. I wish I’d gotten one of everything regardless of whether my waist could withstand the calories or not.

Cocoa & Fig is the number one place to get cupcakes in my opinion. I have been there so many times and have also tried cupcakes at a lot of other places (Cupcake, Nadia Cakes, Wuollet’s, all the fancy grocery bakeries, etc); Cocoa & Fig is the best. The Sinfully Chocolate cupcake is the highlight and standout; chocolate cupcakes are usually so disappointing to me that I don’t bother with them. Sinfully Chocolate is what a chocolate cupcake always should have been in my mind. It is SO good — one word: ganache. Brilliant. I have personally tried Vanilla (nice), Coffee Lovers (GREAT), Peanut Butter Bombe (TO DIE FOR — rivals Sinfully Chocolate in my mind), Key Lime (LOVE), Cookies and Cream (nice but my husband really loves it), Pink Champagne (not memorable), S’mores Cupcake (SO GOOD — up in my top three), Pumpkin Cake (DELICIOUS), and White Chocolate Raspberry (love it but wouldn’t mind more raspberry). Like I said, I’ve been there a lot.
I ordered a decorated cake and a couple of dessert table items from them last year for my daughter’s birthday, and they were a joy to work with. First — they DESIGNED and decorated the cake based off a character in a hard-​to-​find children’s book so I’m sure they’d never even seen it before. They did an amazing job — it looked right out of the pages from the book. They were extremely thorough in their correspondence and everything went off without a hitch. We got the cake, cupcakes (should have gotten more Sinfully Chocolate because that’s what everyone took — d’oh!), shooters (awesome), chocolate covered pretzels (awesome), and rented some display items. It was a joy to work with them.
One other item I go absolutely gaga for at Cocoa & Fig is their Russian tea cakes during the holiday season. You CANNOT get these anywhere else tasting sooo buttery and close to home-​made. Don’t miss it if you love those. I have eaten their other items from the shop but didn’t particularly fall hard for the cake pops, macaroons, cookies, etc. But then again, I don’t really order/​like those things from other places either so I don’t consider myself a good judge if they are great or not. I’ve never been on the cake pop bandwagon.

I tried the raspberry white chocolate and pink champagne cupcakes and the pink champagne was a total let down. It was more of a sweet bread than a cupcake and the raspberry white chocolate was a bit too sweet for me. Neither were bad, but not good enough for me to be able to justify the calorie intake OR $ 3 price tag

I have not actually tasted any of the baked goods or physically been to Cocoa & Fig, but their customer service was above excellent! While traveling in Ukraine, I emailed an order inquiry for a birthday taking place in Minneapolis. The people at Cocoa & Fig diligently stayed in touch in order to make sure the order was placed correctly and ready on time — all from 5,000 miles away!
As for the feedback from the birthday crowd on the actual order of 2 dozen french macarons (vanilla, chocolate, pistachio, and salted caramel): was also 5 stars!

Absolutely delicious. The cake pops are the best. This is our go-​to place whenever we are looking for high quality bakery and sweets. Two thumbs up for sure.

Delicious. Pricey. Tiny shop with no seating, but it was in Nicollet Mall, which has lots of places to sit. The cheesecake was SO YUMMY.

I love that there’s a bakery downtown that has quality gluten free stuff. The Macaroons, for example, are amazing. The only problem I have sometimes is the quality of the service. For example, today I come by to get a little hostess gift for tonight, and the person at the counter — Emily — could not care less. It was like pulling teeth to get her to give me an answer. Some questions I asked were responded to by looking at her nails. If I see her working when I go back again, I won’t go in.

I think it’s safe to say that if heaven was a place on Earth, it would be Cocoa & Fig. Each time I go here I am instantly greeted by little winged babies playing harps welcoming me onto the clouds that hold the world’s best macarons and cupcakes.
If you follow my Unilocal or Instagram, you know I am not a sweets person. Sure, l will indulge in some desserts every once in a while, but for the most part, I try to stay away from that side of Carb City because of the high rate of food coma inducing crime. Cocoa & Fig is the exception to any rules I have set in my life.
There are basically four things they sell here – cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, and macarons. The cupcakes and macarons are to fricken die for. I have yet to try something that I have not absolutely loved. My go to items are the pistachio and apple pie macarons and the red velvet cupcake. The macarons are the best I have ever had in my life. They are light and chewy with just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. The cupcakes are moist and rich without being too much. I recently tried the candy bar cupcake (snickers themed cupcake) and I pretty much fainted from being overwhelmed by the deliciousness that was hitting my taste buds. The carrot cake cookie sandwich is also really good – the cream cheese filling is definitely babybear (aka just right)!
Cocoa & Fig has limited business hours during the day so if you find yourself downtown on a weekday, you NEED to go here.

I finally visited this place after passing by it for months here in the skyways. I’ve had the salted caramel cupcake, vanilla cupcake, and pistachio macaron. Personally, I think $ 3 is a bit steep for a cupcake this small but they were tasty nonetheless. The macaron was ok but not memorable; I think it could have had just a little more flavor to drive it home. Aside from that it’s a cute little bakery; great to pick up a little something during lunch.

I cannot believe I have not done a review for my favorite spot downtown to get my sweet tooth fix!
The first time I had a treat made by Cocoa & Fig was at one of the MN Bride award events and since that day a few years ago I am hooked! Whenever I need a pick me up or just craving one of their treats, so easy to make a trip from my office to the storefront in downtown Minneapolis.
Decent price for gourmet treats. I have so many favorites but I guess I can name a few: salted caramel (vanilla or chocolate) cupcake, sinfully chocolate cupcake (my absolute favorite), and any flavor macaron but the best is the salted caramel because they have gooey caramel inside that just makes it even better. Cupcakes are moist and not too sweet and they make the best macarons I have had anywhere and I am not exaggerating. Always made perfectly, chewy and fresh, not hard and stale at all.
Love this place! If I could go back 5 years and redo my wedding cake and desserts I would have used Cocoa & Fig! hmmm maybe for our 10 year vow renewal :)
Highly recommend trying out their treats if you love sweets. They have a second location nearby Southdale mall now if you can’t make it downtown

Cocoa & Fig has made me the most popular member of my book club. So, I owe a LOT to them and their amazing sweets. In fact, I’m pretty sure the only reason we have book club any more is to eat Cocoa & Fig’s yummy baked goods. Oh, and to drink wine of course.
Tonight, I bought 12 cake pops (2 of each of their flavors) and my friends would not shut up about them. Not only did they LOOK adorable… but more importantly, they were moist and sweet and completely satisfying. We were instagramming those cake pops like crazy. I thought I’d bought too many, but then we ate ALL of them.
A few months ago, I brought some macarons to book club, and of course those were also a hit! Beautiful, sweet, flaky, light (and gluten free!)
This place does a great job of keeping their products yummy, seasonal and diverse. They always have different flavors and offerings (I also recall falling in love with a Bailey’s Irish Cream macaron the week of Ireland). It’s also very convenient to my office, so it makes stopping there for a quick lunch treat or a birthday gift easy and joyful. I absolutely love this place and is perfect for the skyway wanderer with a sweet tooth.

As a lady who quite enjoys stereotypically masculine things such as beer and large quantities of meat, I often find myself repressing my love of dainty sweets.
I happened to stumble upon this cute little place while I was looking for lunch in the skyway. I remembered the name and some samples from North Coast Nosh. I looked at the colorful morsels of sugar and I lost it.
I was going to get three things to try and I ended up walking out with a bag full of macarons. I considered eating all of them myself on the bus ride back to the office but I decided to share. They were perfection when it comes to macarons.
Next time I need a dainty sweets fix, I’ll be going here.

This place is one of the most addicting places in downtown. Once you go you will want to keep coming back for more. They have almost every flavor and type of cupcake imaginable! You really can’t go wrong.
My favorites are their carrot, raspberry with white chocolate and strawberries & champagne cupcakes. The frosting is outta this world.
They also have excellent macaroons! I like the coconut, pistachio and salted caramel ones.
Their cake pops look delicious too so that’s on my list to try someday.
This place is dangerously good and everything is too pretty to eat!

Cocoa and Fig is a convenient place to have in the skyways. Grabbing a $ 3 cupcake for someone’s birthday, to cheer up a coworker, or I guess if you’re just craving something sweet? Why not? Staff is always friendly and the cupcakes are delicious– red velvet all day.
I always have this weird masculine identity crisis here though. Maybe it was the group of ladies who looked at me buying a cupcake for my mom before I met up with her on her birthday like I was trying on women’s lingerie. CAN’T A DUDE JUST BUY A PASTRY IN PEACE? And I could never bring another bro at work a box of macaroons (LOL). So yeah, here’s a tip– maybe keep this place in mind for the ladies only. But stick to that rule and you’re good to go.

I tried the key lime cupcake, a flavor I never thought I’d be interested, but loved! It has a layer of graham crust on the bottom, with vanilla cake, a lime flavored custard filling, and lime flavored whip cream.
The only downfall was that the cake was a bit dry, which is to be expected given the items aren’t baked fresh daily. However, it was still good and I’ll definitely have this one again.

I used to be a big fan of Cocoa and Fig, but recently, they have kind of let me down. There have been several occasions where I will need to place an order for cake pops, and nobody answers the phone. This is extremely frustrating, especially when you need to give 1 – 2 days notice for large orders, and don’t have time to get there to place it in person.
One such occasion was this week — I called on two separate days, trying to get an order placed. They (understandably) don’t take orders left on voice mail, so I requested that someone give me a call back to set it up. Two days, two calls, and no response — I had written them off in my mind, and even found a replacement cake pop source. Thankfully, Lauren from Cocoa and Fig called me today (two days after my last call) to apologize for the delay in response, citing issues with their voice mail system.
I’m really glad they called. Even though I am slightly wary of them in the wake of several similar issues where nobody called to follow up at all, I have certainly not written them off for good. Hopefully I will have occasion to use them again in the future.

Cocoa & Fig? More like crack cocaine! Their sweet and delicate treats are dangerously delicious, and they will make anyone feel like Lord or Lady at a fancy party.
There’s a never ending list of things to rave about: precious cupcakes, cream pies, cake lollipops, and macarons (pronounced mac-​ca-​Ron like the name, not ruin to be specific) to name a few. I can always find something perfect for any occasion at C&F; I’ve done treats for the office, a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving, and the ideal afternoon pick-​me-​up without being overly indulgent. Some may say C&F is on the pricier side but it pays in the care and presentation of their desserts.
They do a drawing for a cake if you drop off your business card and they have specials every month when you sign up for their emails. I would highly recommend the classic pistachio macaron.

For the love of cake balls! I come to Cocoa & Fig because I can hear the cake balls screaming at me from blocks away. Mmmmm, cake stuffed with frosting and coated in a pretty and bite-​sized package. Yes, you can get a good cake ball most anywhere (they’re kinda hard to mess up), but the service is friendly. They take the time to answer questions and don’t shoo me away when I begin to drool over the many options.
I’ve had the cupcakes on a couple of occasions but was honestly underwhelmed. They weren’t bad by any means, just not light/​fluffy/​moist spectacular. I do give them major props for not keeping them in a refrigerated case like many places seem to do. Refrigeration is the fastest way to ruin a good cupcake (yeah, I’m pointing a finger at you Cupcake and you too Angelfood Bakery).

Parisian macarons: ¹⁰⁄₅ stars
After trying the rest of their macaron flavors (raspberry, hazelnut, lemon, chocolate), I loved every single one of them (even the chocolate and lemon) and was basically crying out of joy on the inside from tasting the PERFECTLY and ADDICTIVELY moist and chewy consistency of their french macarons.
