I have been going to Calhoun Dental to see Dr Thomas Cornelissen for over 10 years. Most of my visits have just been for routine cleanings and check ups. I recently needed a procedure done for a 3 tooth bridge and porcelain teeth replacement and knew I was in the right hands as Dr Cornelissen did an awesome job. It doesn’t matter what the procedure is, this is a great dentist office and I would recommend to anyone.

$ 2,200 per root canal pre insurance which would pay about half. Dr didn’t care that these are WISDOMTEETH. Or which to do first even though one is infected! Found a near by DDS who take both my insurance plans and averages $ 900 per root canal which they pointed out were wisdom teeth and recommended extraction. This practice feels more like a Car Dealer than a Medical Practice. Very Glad I found another DDS.

C.D. has a STRONGEMPHASIS on cosmetic dentistry — as their website advertises, so if you are not looking for expensive often unnecessary implants, whitning, veneers, bonding, ect. this will NOT be a good match. I went to C.D. on the recommendation of a co-worker, and while their office is nice & the receptionist/office manager is peppy, they come off as bourgeois. The reason for my low star rating is because of the following issues I experienced: While I take very good care of my teeth & regard my health in a holistic way the dental hygienist was a steam roller advocate for fluoridated products, even after stating that it is NOT my preference to use this ingredient, on & on she went. When I had fillings preformed there(in Oct 09) they could’ve saved me hundreds of dollars by informing me if I waited until the following year I would get better insurance coverage — so I ended up paying around $ 500. Now 3 years later ALLTHEFILLINGS need to be replaced, BADLY!!! Dr.C obviously did not look at my chart & see that I kept having issues with my composite fillings(each 12yr molar filled about 5/x) — my teeth are sharp & I chew through these types of fillings in 1 – 2 years, I never realized this was the issues because dentists always say that the filling will be «sensitive» for a while. While I did not realize that«composite» = «plastic» — and not even strong plastic at that, Dr. C did not(as a caring professional) look at my chart & educate me, just like the dentists previous to him, actually, he spent the minimum time possible with me… probably because I don’t look like I have lots of money! Now I am in the process of replacing my expensive plastic fillings with more expensive($ 550-$ 900) porcelain inlays/onlays that will actually last around 30 years. How frustrating to think that not even a money-hungry«cosmetic» dentist would educate a person on their filling options!!! AND don“t forget that each time you get a filling you LOOSEMORETOOTH. Now I will need a partial crown on one of the teeth he filled. What a headache. Do yourself a favor & find a holistic dentist that will actually help you best preserve/work with what you have.

Extremely friendly staff, quick about getting you an appointment for something basic like a cleaning or extreme like a broken tooth. They specialise in cosmetic dentistry, but do a good job with regular dentistry, too. The office is a little showy – big, flatscreen TVs in each exam room/area seem a little much. They have a really small waiting room, but they get everyone in on time and you rotate through quickly. I would continue to go there if I had a better job with better benefits – even with insurance, many services are still pricey. They only do porcelain fillings, which is good for quality, but sad for someone on a budget. They do offer Care Credit, which is a line of credit specifically for dental services. All in all, a great place. :)
