Brush Studio

I absolutely loved my experience here. We got to choose a different painting than the one assigned on the calendar online since we made reservations far in advance. This was a pleasant surprise!
Upon arriving we got our paint and an apron was neatly folded on each stool. The bar had a variety of wine and beer selections which were reasonably priced.
The actual artist of the painting we selected lead the class and provided easy instructions to follow. She also walked around and offered assistance if we needed it and answered questions.
The studio is spacious and very nice with the high ceilings. I love doing art and drinking wine so this was the perfect activity to do with some of my girlfriends. This is now one of my new favorite hobbies and I want to do this again soon!

This was a great experience! Signed up me and 2 friends for the Stone Arch Bridge painting for my friends birthday. We reserved and paid for our seats online. When we walked in, they knew exactly which party were were, seated us, and gave us the steps to get ready. The teaching artist was patient and easy to follow. You may think you don’t have any painting skills, but I didn’t see a single person with a bad painting at the end of the night. They let you do it all yourself, but really walk you through each step to ensure you understand. Fun music, fun atmosphere and decent beverage/​bar selection. I HIGHLY recommend for parties and group night outs!

Had a great time here last night! The instructor made everything so easy to do and explained everything very well. She was also helpful when needed. Pretty decent beer selection as well from the bar.

Went here last Thursday with my mom for her birthday and had a GREAT time! It’s a great atmosphere, wonderful instructors and a fun night all around. The painting we did took about 2 and a half hours, but both my mom and I were extremely pleased with our paintings! I highly recommend it!

I really liked this experience. I dinged off one star for a few reasons I’ll get to at the end.
Great space: light, tall ceilings, decent elbow room (do note you will be on metal stools for at least 2 and a half hours-​so your back will need a break).
I did not drink but they had a large bar and a great selection of beers, wine and other beverages. I also did not eat, but saw people having slices of pizza delivered to their seat.
The painting part was fun, our instructor had an amazing playlist and people were singing along– great atmosphere.
Now for my areas of improvement: the time. My class was on a weeknight and at the start of class she said she would try to be close to 2 hours. I know her slow pacing was out of respect for letting everyone get caught up before the next step, but I really think they have to tighten the process. On a weeknight, an activity that starts at 6:30 should have you in your car 100% by 9pm. Particularly if they say the evening goes from 6:30−9pm at the latest.
The next thing is they made a pretty huge deal of the fact that I was by myself. Not in a negative way, but just like dining alone, you don’t want the waiter (like in the movie), «Solo diner coming through! Move aside! She’s alone.»
They called me earlier in the day to clarify that I would be alone, the instructor (very nicely) was walking around and asked, ««Why are you by yourself tonight?» OK, if a person was in a bad place, feeling lonely or had mustered up the courage to do something by themselves, this would not be helpful. Even for me, who doesn’t like to wait for others if I want to do something, it didn’t feel great. On the way out, and again very nicely, someone said «Come back with your husband.» You guys, just say, «Please come back!»
So if you are planning on doing this alone, just know they will reference it multiple times. But the reality is, being there alone was fine. You’re busy concentrating on your art. I hope Brush Studio takes this feedback in the spirit it was intended. I think you’ll want to really be conscious of this or people will not go on their own which would be a shame.
All that said, it was fun and I will go back. Maybe on my own, maybe not!

This was my first wine and painting event that I had been to. I had seen these all over social media and wanted to try one as part of my bachelorette party evening. I chose Brush Studio because the date/​time of the class fit best with our other events and they had availability for our group of 7. Most other places I checked in to did not have availability (I checked about 2 weeks prior to the event).
The space is beautiful, open and comfortable. Kelly was our instructor and we painted the Spoon and Cherry (which was another reason we chose Brush Studio, they had the best painting compared to other places for our date). Everyone could hear Kelly because she used a microphone and she was on a stage above everyone so that we could all see what she was doing. When she wasn’t communicating directions, they had music playing, which was nice but I thought a touch too loud. Being that we had 7 people, it was a bit hard to communicate with those across and down the row from you. Not a necessity to communicate, but if you are doing this as a group thing that may be something you care about. I was able to communicate well with those in my group who were immediately next to me and across from me.
Alcohol prices were very fair. I went in expecting them to be high being that they are not a stand-​alone bar, but they were very reasonable and had a great selection! Many different beers and wines (that is all my group sampled). They kept a tab or let us purchase individual drinks. They also had wine chillers and let us keep the bottle of wine that we were sharing at our table for easy refills.
Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend Brush Studio for a girls night or a date. There were a couple other groups at our experience but there were also a handful of couples on date nights (so guys, don’t be afraid to come and expect this to be a girls only thing, it was definitely a gender neutral event in all regards, nothing overtly girly about it!) I will definitely be back the next time I want to plan a group event!

I like wine, I like painting so Brush is a win win for me.
I’ve been to other wine and painting events at bars but didn’t like how cramped they usually are. I was planning a girls night and came across Brush and decided to go with that instead of the usual bar ones — so glad I did!
Brush is located right in between a bunch of restaurants in the West End so it makes it really easy to get apps and drinks beforehand and then head over. Inside Brush they have 2 large tables set up (I think you could fit up to 50 people in here) and a huge bar. I was a little nervous originally about getting wine there because I figured it was going to be ridiculously overprices but it was surprisingly cheap — $ 20 for a bottle?! yes please!
The painting we did was the Split Rock Lighthouse and it was really challenging. The instructor did a good job teaching and helping people with their paintings. but there just was no hope for mine. I’m hoping they’ll put on their website they’ll add in something about how difficult the paintings are so next time I’ll go to an easier one. Either way the entire night was a blast and I can see myself making this a regular event.
