Wow! What a great pub! Food was awesome and fresh. Had Bodingtons and Surley IPA. Went on a Wednesday around lunch time and it was pretty busy. Unable to play lawn darts because you need to make reservations. So plan ahead if you want to play.

Brit’s is my kind of place! Good food, English Cider, and some crazy soccer fans. I’m really not into soccer much, but these fanatics make for awesome people watching. The food itself is delicious, whether you’re ordering the fish and chips or the chips with pot roast or some Cock-A-Leekie(say that without giggling like a school girl!) I love their scotch eggs too. I mean, sausage in any form is pretty awesome, yes?!? The only thing I’ve had there that really wasn’t my thing was the mac & cheese bites. Much too greasy for my preferences. For dessert, definitely go for the bread pudding. It is D-Vine! Never had bad service, and I’ve been there with large and small groups. The wait staff is always friendly & prompt. Now I just have to make it out there for some lawn bowling. So, to Brit’s I say Cheers!

Great atmosphere and large beer selection. Fun happy hour. Had the Shepard’s pie. Not too shabby. Will be back for sure.

Came to Minneapolis for a few days and stumbled upon Brit’s Pub. Right away I knew I was in the right spot. Friendly bartenders and passionate soccer fans willing to educate a noob like me. Good beer selections & likely the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. What’s better is the awesome atmosphere. Just a really cool vibe in this pub. If I wasn’t going home tomorrow I’d be back here tomorrow.

I was in Minneapolis for a work conference and this place was within walking distance from my hotel. I was by myself, so I was seated in a small corner, which was fine for me. I was there during happy hour and it looked so fun. I definitely would love to go back with some friends for a good time. I had the famous scotch eggs and the fish sandwich. Both were good and very filling. The lawn bowling seems so fun!

I love the energy here. Great place for a hangout. The space is big inside and outdoor seating is nice as well. Food is good and drinks are great. Service is spectacular. Definitely one of the best places in downtown Minneapolis!

My son and I took a late flight in to the Twin Cities and didn’t know what to eat. We lucked up on this little gem. The Scottish Eggs were great as well as the Sheppard’s Pie, real good hearty food and great beer!

It was ok. I honestly loved the ambience of the place, very rustic and Irishy(yeah I’m making up words again). The menu is very small, not very much variety to offer. Still, with such a small menu, I was very optimistic. You’ll usually find that when the menu is very small, there’s tends to be lots of flavor in what they have to offer. I was, unfortunately, a little off on that assumption. I got chicken tenders, pretty basic order, but very basic tenders. I’m pretty sure I’ve had the same ones out of a bag I bought at Walmart. Also got fries, just as basic, though very reasonable portions on them, so there’s a plus. They say that their Scotch Eggs are famous, but with everything else I tried, I kinda lost hope on that. Plus, a group of guys breathed cigarette smoke on our table for an hour and a half. Not Brit’s fault, but still. The the stars are really for the ambience, it seems like such a fun place. The service, well, I didn’t leave a tip, so yeah. But again, what do I know? I’m just a Unilocal Elite.

Old world British pub. This is big place with lots of rooms. Lots of beer and traditional pub grub. I had tomato soup, which was excellent and fish and chips, also good. Good service as well!

Came here twice while traveling. Once for drinks and another lunch. Terrific experience both times. Perfect outdoor area and bar area greatly resembles a legit pub

I’ve been to Brit’s several times, and I’ve always had a fun experience. In my opinion, the inside is crowded and loud, but the rooftop seating is perfect for warm weather. They have a great drink selection, and the waiters are very knowledgable. If you want a little snack with your drinks, they have great scotch eggs, and they’re pretty cheap during happy hour. The demographic is almost completely groups of friends in their twenties, so expect a younger crowd. If you’re into lawn bowling, the rooftop green is always very well-kept. However, you might also see a drunk girl in heels romping around on the green with her boyfriend. It’s usually crowded, a bit loud, and packed with preppy frat boys. Nonetheless, you’ll have a good time. Main critique would be that it is usually understaffed. I realize that it’s busy, but it’s always going to be busy on the weekend, so they need to hire a couple extra hands for rush times.

Went there for a lunch from convention center a 5 minute walk away, food came fast our waitress was on the ball checked back 5 minutes apart, Cold good beer menu !, I got the fish and chips 2 piece was perfect, and went out to see the lawn bowling deck on the roof top super cool !. Its smallish inside, service was real good, and found out our waitress just started a week ago, nice., Friends had cob salad and steak sandwich all enjoyed it. Check it out for lunch, construction out front right now but worth going.

If you can make it in to their happy hour, the specials are great. I sits own at the small back bar and ask how late can I order food. The bar tender hands me a menu and says, till about 11:00. I looked over the menu for 8+ minutes, Then I ask for a beer and he says, this bar is closed, but you can go to the other bar. Thanks for thinking ahead and being proactive. I think they could have politely mentioned that when I asked about the food.

I am an Australian and this place is like a mini home for me! I was so excited just seeing that they had European candy for sale at the front! The child in me got very excited seeing them! The staff here are really nice and quick with service. We just got a couple snacks here, we got the chips and cheese and a Burnt Crème. Both were delicious! I have a thing for anything Crème Brulee related and their Burnt Crème was to smooth, sweet and mouth watering. I almost wish it was just a little bigger, I could have easily eaten two! The chips really remind me of home and the cheese with the bacon bits in it was heavenly. I will definitely be back here again to try more of the menu. There is a great selection and everything just makes you feel like you are in an English pub! We sat on the couches by the fire place which were probably the best seats in the house for me! During the patio season they have a beautiful outside seating area that has a lawn bowls area. Looking forward to returning!

Was at a conference at the Hilton and walked a block over here for lunch. Ordered the Fish and Chips because it was bolded on their menu as being so special. It was good as I was hungry but not blown away or overly impressed. Others at the table had wraps. Water was refilled in a timely manner. If I wasn’t on company time, I would have ordered a drink. Nicollet Avenue is all tore up now for construction. Ok in my book. The Happy Hour looks promising.

It is a pub. That said, it’s nice there was something lively in the area for Oscars night. Except the hostess just lead me upstairs and I had to ask my first waiter if I could move downstairs to get a better view of the screen. The sound made it hard to hear, but about halfway through the show I picked up on laughter from another room where there were several TVs playing the awards show with décor and snacks suggesting that there was in fact a public party being thrown. Which nobody thought to mention to me. My third server brought my check at the very end of the show and I had to leave it by her station since I couldn’t find her. My second server was in the main room and checked in on me almost every five minutes, but was very nice. Since pub food is what Brit’s does best, stick with the essentials. The bangers and mash were on point and could have easily been some reheated dreck a la Applebees, but the sausage was delicious and the carmelized onions tied it all together and was definitely worth the price. Fellow travelers, after some inquiry about«what is a Spanish/Moroccan Coffee?», the staff figured it out and told me there is a special license required for Minnesota bars if they want to use fire in cocktails which is hard to get, so they’re not able to make those drinks. There is plenty of other stuff on tap so hang in there and just go Irish if you need coffee and booze.

If you know me, then you know I am obsessed with going to the Minnesota State Fair. One of the main reasons is because of those darn Scotch Eggs on-a-stick. Each year, I brave the livestock odors while I wait two minutes for my scotch egg. NOW, i don’t ever have to set foot in that part of the fair because Brit’s is my knight in shining pub. Now I can get scotch eggs all day every day, even though I feel like that would be super unhealthy. Last time I was there, it was a warm summer day and there were a ton of people there from all walks of life playing bocce ball and sipping on lemonade and beer. Here’s a break down of some of the items I’ve had: Scotch eggs: crispy on the outside and sausage is flavorful. Chips: too thick for my liking but it’s how they are supposed to be. I’m a fan of shoestring fries. Fried fish: not very flavorful but large portion. Tandoori chicken wrap: the chicken is very dry but the sauce is good. Meat pie: great flavor, lots of pastry. Eat it with the buttered peas. Overall, I’d say this is the perfect place to visit on a warm summer day if you want to kill a lot of time. It’s downtown so if you are not into the whole paying for parking and walking a few blocks to the restaurant thing, it’s probably not for you. Vibes are cool but food is just OK. I think I would head to Anchor Fish and Chips for this kind of fare.

If the wait staff from all mighty Hell had one location to work at, it would be Brits pub. The server on the patio was one of the most obnoxious people I have ever come across. Service cannot be this bad only if the management took its customers for granted. Not a place that I would recommend to anyone.

They have beer here, and that’s good. They have food here, and that maybe wasn’t such a good choice. I don’t have much(any) background in poutine, so I can’t really say whether the poutine was really bad here, or whether poutine is really bad everywhere. Is it supposed to be soggy and bland? The mill work in the bar is really pretty, gives it a nice authentic feel. It’s a fine place to come if you want to get drunk on $ 7 beers. But only if you’re on pace for one each half hour to 45 minutes. That’s about how frequently we saw our server.

The original British Pub in downtown Minneapolis. Open since 1990, this place is clearly doing something right. If you are here on a weekend, you can expect to find raging soccer fans and lots of families with kids. During the week and especially at lunch, it can be quiet, like the day of my most recent visit. Since it was drizzling and as Brits is NOT skyway connected, the foul weather really cuts down their traffic for lunch. In contrast on a warm and sunny day, their patio out front(one of the largest on Nicollet) as well as their deck off the lawn bowling course can be packed with people enjoying a beer and some sunshine. I’ve eaten here several times including twice in the past month but can’t call their food outstanding. Most recently for lunch I had the club(be SURE to ask for extra crispy bacon as they are pretty authentic in their preparation of British food and the bacon can be somewhat chewy and fatty otherwise) and it was fine but nothing to write home about. They do have good fries and the service is pretty good. I think you go to Brits not for the fine dining, but for the atmosphere, revelry and a chance to hang with your friends in a warm and comfortable environment.
