Blue and White Taxi

This is the worst taxi company I’ve ever experienced. There is maybe one driver that will get to you on time but other than that the tracker doesn’t work and you can’t ever get a hold of a driver to see where they are. They are unreliable, unpredictable and unprofessional.

Should really give 0 stars since the driver never picked me up. I spent close to 45min trying to explain to the driver that he wasn’t at the right address. He kept asking me to send him a different address as I was trying to explain where I was. He hung up on me several time with no way for me to call him back. I took a lyft instead. Don’t know what I was thinking using this taxi service as I’ve never had a good experience with any of the Minneapolis taxi services. Never using again. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy the adventure of being late/​stranded.

Tried to book a flat rate fare to the MSP terminal 2 on line. Received a guitar for $ 33.00. I tried entering several different CCs for payment but kept getting error messages. Called B&W and was told that the estimated metered fare was $ 37.00 and change but I would receive a 10% discount. No thank you. If you couldn’t honor your online quote I would prefer to take a metered fate with another company.
After posting the review I received a call from Jeremy from B&W. He apologized and stated that his call canter did not handle my call satisfactorily. He offered to provide a better flat rate than that which was previously provided. I accepted and booked a ride to MSP terminal 2 for 3:30.
At 3:00a B&W taxi arrived. The driver (Mustafa) states that he knew he was early and would wait until the scheduled time. My wife and I decided that there was no difference waiting in the hotel lobby or at MSP so we loaded our baggage. We had a very nice ride to MSP and Mustafa was knowledgeable and a pleasure to have a conversation with.
Should we have need of a taxi in Minneapolis again I will call B&W and ask for Mustafa.

Aggressive and lying cab driver demanding I pay in cash because «he didn’t have a card reader.» Then he demanded I pay for his gas. I said no I will pay with a credit card. After arguing for a good 20mins he pulled out a card reader, which he had the whole time. He then wanted me to pay him for dropping me at some random gas station???
All I wanted was a ride home, & pay him with a credit card… Craziness… Stay away from Blue & White Cabs, and all Minnesota cab drivers in general… Do yourself a favor and get an Über.

I have traveled to Minneapolis a lot lately on business and have always used Blue and White. The only company I have used there that has arrived on time and been dependable. I really like the tracking link that gets sent out with every order so I can know how far away the driver is while I wait. Cabs are clean and drivers friendly. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fast and reliable cab service.

The worst part about Blue & White used to be the call center people –they used to be SO RUDE and ghetto ghetto. In the last year or so, Blue & White has added a long introduction tape to the call, and after the long intro, you’re finally connected to one of their call staff. The call staff, have noticeably improved, they’re more polite, less lazy, and less aggressive. They actually might be decent human beings after all?
Who knew a company could actually change tactics?
I’m so happy Über is around, because Über forces other lazy ghetto companies to listen up and do better work. Competition keeps things clean and sharp.
Since I’m out in the metro suburbs, it takes usually around 10 – 15 minutes for a cab to come up. Not bad. When I’m in the city, it takes about 10 – 15 minutes as well. They always require an exact address though, so you can’t just say, «I’m in front of Sexworld», they’ll insist on the exact address.
The Taxi drivers are usually really shitty people, but what do you do. That’s how it is. The taxis themselves always stink like ass too. But, that’s how it is.
The best part, is that they feel entitled to «tips». Nope, tips are optional. Tips are given to people who perform above and beyond the average. Something no taxi driver has ever achieved in their life, lol.

We were refused a ride by a blue and white taxi. probably because we are a gay couple. I’m never taking a blue and white in this city again. UBER has much better pricing and they don’t discriminate.

Terrible service. Driver went 5 miles out of the way and denied it when I called him out on it. Will not use again.

Dangerous drivers! Taxi ran a red light during morning rush hour in downtown Mpls and almost hit pedestrians.

Horrible. Waiting on cab that was preordered. This is the 3^rd time in a row that they didn’t show up, and I was using them 3 times a week. The last ride that they showed up for, the driver got a flat tire, and actually rimmed it to the place. Very scary. Today, I tried it again, twice. First time, they just didn’t show up. The return trip, I tried them again, and they hung up on me three times. The rude girl actually said one word, «WHATEVER», and hung up on me. I called Airport instead. The drivers speak fluent english, and they are pleasant to deal with. I am traumatized. This company ruined my day one too many times. So rude.

We called über cab and they never showed up the blue and white can said we already called über and wouldn’t take us

I will never use this taxi again. bad service and not Disability friendly. I will call any other cab company before using this company again.

The management recently responded to my Unilocal review kindly. I appreciate that.
That being said: This company and other cab companies have a lot to worry about with Über and Lyft.
Here are my criticisms with Blue and White, and all the other similar companies (except Rainbow but they are close to being included). I am a regular consumer of cabs:
1. The dispatchers with most of the major cab companies can be extremely rude and rarely possess customer service skills. When I call I often feel like I’m bothering someone.
2. The drivers, 80% of the time are talking on their phones. This is illegal in MN. The thing that bothers me is that they are probably only driving an hour or two during their eight hour shift. Can you not put your phone down when you actually have a customer. Also listening to one-​sided conversations in foreign languages is extremely annoying.
3. Drivers rarely will accept a credit card. They point their credit card machines attached to the front passengers seat downward like a head hanging in shame, making it unavailable. Most drivers who do accept a card for a short fare get visibly annoyed. You guys need to figure this out.
4. Your cabs take too long. Über and Lyft have the GPS thing nailed. The longest I’ve waited has been 4 minutes.
Why would I use your company when I can take a cheaper service, a variety of vehicles, nicer drivers, I never get out a credit card or cash because it all happens through the app, I get to communicate with my driver instantly over text or voice, I can visually see where they are, and I get to rate the drivers and see their ratings.

I created this Unilocal account solely to review this company… and not because I was dazzled by the amazing service provided.
My driver dumped me at the wrong bus station, even though I specifically said «Greyhound bus station» and even provided the specific street address (which he waved away with a «yeah, yeah…»). Upon arrival, I wasn’t convinced this was the right place and I asked him if he was sure this was the Greyhound station at 950 Hawthorne Ave. Again I was briskly and dismissively told, «yeah, yeah…» It wasn’t. Using my iPhone map app, I confirmed that my taxi driver had royally screwed me over and proceeded to call the dispatcher to send another cab. She asked for a specific address and when I told her that I didn’t know where the hell I was since her idiot driver had dumped me in the wrong dang spot, she hung up.
Thankfully, a few streets over I managed to hail a friendly taxi driver who actually understood that people pay him to take them where they want to go – not to some random dark parking garage in the middle of nowhere. He got a nice tip.
Screw you, Blue & White taxi.

This review is for the delightful cab driver of what I seem to remember was cab 5710 this morning who came (no exaggeration) within 2 inches of hitting me with his sideview mirror on 10^th Street when he had an entire lane open next to him. After I reminded him that state law requires he give me a 3 ft buffer, he responded with exactly the right response for a potential customer this next weekend — a one finger salute.
This, in addition to the countless times over the last 5 years that a Blue and White cab has just never showed up after my wife and I requested one, is why Über is gaining market share, I’m leaving a 1 star review, and my derrière will never grace the unwashed, vinyl-​lined backseat of a Blue and White crown victoria ever again.
Thanks for the memories Blue and White, and thanks driver of 5710 for trying to kill me this morning.

Let me preface this story by saying that I think I finally know the meaning of the phrase «1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, FLOOR».
After having one two many drinks Saturday night, Cinderella finally turned into a pumpkin and it was time to head home. Though the cab ride was not long (downtown to uptown), I managed to lose my wallet in the process, and realized I only had my debit card and phone the next morning. Needless to say, I was panicked.
I submitted an online Lost and Found request (they specifically mention to NOT call their phone number as this is just the dispatch line and they will redirect you to their website) and monitored my credit card activity for fraudulent purchases (none). After a day, I caved and called their dispatcher. Understandably, he was probably a little frustrated with me as I was not following typical protocol (and I imagine they get a lot of lost Glass Slipper requests). He was helpful and asked me the right information — what card I used, what time my ride was, etc. and contacted the cab driver I had ridden with.
…AND HE HAD MY WALLET! He offered me the cab driver’s phone number adding, «He is a great guy — and tried to return your wallet to your apartment yesterday but couldn’t get a hold of you». So I sheepishly called the cab driver and he offered to drive downtown to drop off my wallet and was there 20 minutes later.
And now here I am, wallet in hand, and with a very strong awareness of the fact that there are great and honest people out there. Not to mention, I have this Prince Charming’s phone number for when I need a reliable cab ride :)

Blue and White Taxi is truly terrible. I have had no shows on many occasions, been informed that a cab is only a mile or so away and not have them show up for forty minutes, had drivers get in near accidents because they were listening to music with in-​ear headphones while driving and been forced to pay in cash when there is clearly a credit card scanner. In the last situation the cab driver actually drove us blocks away from our destination to a convenience store so we could withdraw cash because he wouldn’t accept what we had which was credit.
Never again.

I tried this company again, simply because they are so ubiquitous I figure they may arrive faster to pick me up at a busy time. As usual, they are late, and confused. I see the cabbie has pulled over about 2 blocks down the street from where he is supposed to pick me up, and run down to catch him before he leaves. He was also confused and did not speak very clear English, he thought that the dispatcher would have called me, which they did not.
Extra star because the cabbie was a very nice Somali guy who made pleasant conversation on the ride. I need to look for a better service though.

Sorry cabbies, but arguing that your passengers pay cash only when you have a card reader in the car is some BS. Next time Im reporting you to the state. You HAVE to follow the ordinance that states you are required to take debit cards. Oh, and STAY OFF THE FRIGGIN CELL PHONE TOO! Thanks for missing my turn. And, one of these A$$hole drivers actually passed me on Lyndale ave one night between 36^th and 37^th. I was going 35 in a 30. So safe! *sarcasm*
Go with Suburban or start using UBER. Its worth the extra $$
