Description

Specialties

Better Futures Minnesota provides services that divert materials from the landfill. We also recycle or reuse materials we can salvage. If you are interested in donating materials to Better Futures we can pick them up for a modest fee or you can drop them off at no cost.

We are a non-profit social enterprise that provides quality, supervised work crews to contractors, architects and homeowners in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and other parts of Minnesota — at an exceptionally fair price. Our crews will perform deconstruction work taking down walls, ceilings, or garages in houses or commercial buildings. After removal we will use, recycle or repurpose the materials.

History

Established in 2007.

Better Futures Minnesota is a social enterprise that was established as a demonstration pilot in 2007 by a team of Minnesota’s leading health care, housing, workforce, community corrections, and human service practitioners.

Better Futures reduces the economic and social costs of high-risk adults, primarily men of color, with histories of imprisonment, substance abuse, mental illness, chronic unemployment, and homelessness. We believe every man engaged in Better Futures is important, valuable and has the potential to achieve a better future.
