I had a great first experience, high quality beverage and friendly customer service. Will definitely be back!

Great service, great coffee, great atmosphere. Can’t recommend this place enough, it’s a truly great addition to central ave, and the coffee can’t be beat in Northeast.

Incredible coffee. Simple, quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Great for working, meeting or just hanging out. One of the best coffee shops in Northeast.

I think I’ve found my new favorite black coffee in the Cities. The Nicaraguan pour-over here? YES. Oh my gosh, dark and textured and astoundingly delicious. I want more, but I also want to sleep at night, so I’ll just have to go back! The interior is very calming: white, no real decorations, exposed brick wall, nice chandelier, interesting wall sconces, and a good amount of open space. I see why the place was primarily full of students and people working away on their laptops and math homework. The environment is very conducive to it, especially with all the tables. There isn’t a «sit and read» kind of chair in sight, so if you need a place to really focus, I bet this will do ya fine. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. When there wasn’t a place to sit when we first walked in, they offered to go pull some chairs from the back for us to sit down on. Who does that? Not many places. I’m pretty wired from that coffee, but I can’t wait to go back and get more.

Great setting, exceptional coffee. Love the classic ceiling. Really there’s nothing not to like(they ask if you want a glass of water or sparkling water with your coffee… love that). I went on a Sunday afternoon so naturally it was pretty crowded so I was easily distracted while trying to get some work done, but by early evening it had quieted down. Free parking in front and on the side of the building.

Came in on a Tuesday night so the place was pretty quiet. The barista was very friendly and gave me a few recommendations. I ended up going with a chai latte and it was delicious and well presented. The place is very simple with barely anything on the walls. It had a nice, clean vibe but wasn’t very cozy. They have nice wooden booths that offer a lot of space but there isn’t much seating overall. They had 4 different options of coffee, which seemed like a good variety. You can also get almost any drinks iced, too! It was a cute shop and offered a nice place to hang out and catch up with a friend for the night.

We’ve been coming here regularly since our first visit and have really grown to like this place as our neighborhood place. I took my San Francisco clients here who are designers and they loved it — the space and coffee. The owners are so nice, and they have really put themselves out there coming from Michigan to start their own business. We want to support them. Coffee has been consistently very good. Love those lemon bars they make… Love having this place and these people in our neighborhood!

Nice atmosphere. At 6 pm not a big crowd and music a bit too loud for my old ears, but I liked the service and ambiance. Parking in rear helps! I plan to return at a different time of day to see if I can work on my computer here. Nice ceilings, but art on the walls could be a nice touch.

I go to different coffee shops for different things, based on the vibes they’re sending out to me. Anelace is sending out a quiet, working, studying vibe. That’s not a bad thing, if you go there for that– but if you go there to play a card game with a friend, you’ll feel weird. Beautiful space, first of all– minimal décor, lots of sunlight. Its a small space, and most of the work space is for 2 people. Had a great Americano, which is always my go-to. A few bakery items, but not much else. Service was ok– very aloof, I felt like.

I would give 4 stars just for their wifi alone! Really nice, fast connection which is perfect when i’m trying to do a bunch of stuff because I was without internet at home for a while since I recently moved and Century Link can’t get to us yet. I had a chai tea latte, which was pretty decent but it’s a relatively easy drink to make. It’s a very sparse interior and reminds me of a industrial modern design.

I can’t resist the charms of a minimalist craft coffee shop, and Anelace is the newest addition to my catalog of traveling office spaces. The coffee here is hot to trot(i.e. can be ordered hot and can be taken to trot), but it’s nice to stay a while because it’s a really cute shop. There’s some gorgeous salvaged antique doors that look to be a million years old and an original(?) pressed tin ceiling, contrasted with the modern wooden booths and subway tile. At least 74% of the population(including me) will not be able to resist the urge to pull out phones and snap pictures. I’ve had very good luck with pour-overs and lattes here. The last time I was in, they were serving Ruby Roasters’ beans from our pals in Wisconsin, but I think I heard them mention they were going to rotate through different small roasters. Randy K and I basically agree on most everything coffee-related, and he kind of hit the nail on the head with the music/ambiance issue. It was super quiet during the few times I’ve been here too, but hopefully they’ll figure the tunes out eventually. Parking can be a bit of a beast around here sometimes, but it’s usually worth circling the block one more time for a great cup of coffee.

If this coffee shop were on Tinder, I would definitely«swipe right.» With plenty of brick cleavage, a banging chandelier, and a sexy metal plated ceiling, this place screams Milla-Jovovich-in-the-Fifth-Element hotness.(*Note: It’s like one of the best movies ever. If you haven’t seen it, what’s wrong with you?) But looks can be deceiving. Is Anelace Coffee as great people say it is? As a mobile worker, I think it checks off most things I could ever want in a coffee shop and that makes me a «fan.» Let’s see: –Plenty of seating for working? Check. –Tasty and strong cold press? Yes. –Hulk-strong wifi? Yup! –Delicious baked goods? Absolutely.(Check out their chive roll.) –Clean? Yeah. –Service? I’ve had no problems. –Prices? Reasonable. –Does the music make your ears bleed? No! That’s awesome, though! I do think they could improve in a couple areas: –Have comfier seats that don’t hurt your butt after sitting marathons. –Fix your phone, since I’ve tried calling multiple times to ask a few questions during business hours.(Is it broke? What’s up?) The baristas said it worked fine. Hmm… Anelace is a fine addition to Northeast. I’ll be back to do some work.

This place is super cute! it’s much bugger than it looks like it’d be. Staff is friendly! It’s clean, and super slick looking. My friends lattes looked so cool with a pretty design that the baristas made using some kind of amazing trickery. It’s clearly the only explanation for the lovely design, clearly. Since I don’t care for coffee, I ordered a tea. The barista was very helpful while she told me about the ones that aren’t full of caffeine. Too much, and I’d want to run around the building a bunch of times and not sleep for 48 hours. The barista took what looked like weeds from my garden, put it in a little thingy and then suddenly it was tea. It legit, blew my mind. If you order tea, be sure to watch the magic!

A very plain and minimalist, yet charming coffee shop that has subtle detailing and décor that doesn’t jump out at you. The ceiling is gorgeous, chandelier is beautiful, and the interior is clean and open. There was plenty of seating available when sis and I came in on a Saturday at around 1pm which was an extremely welcome change from Spyhouse’s ever-constant energetic bustling crowd. Just a different vibe entirely, and I enjoyed it. Right across the street from one of the best Thai restaurants in the city(Karta Thai) and near the best Afghani restaurant(Crescent Moon) this coffee shop is located in a prime area of the Northeast Central /Lowry business district. We ordered cappucinos and a Rosewater Lemon Bar to share. Everything was delicious. Would perhaps like to see some wooden stirring sticks at the cream and sugar table, but I do understand the minimalist and eco-friendly approach this café has, and it’s good to have reusable, washable teaspoons. Duly noted. I don’t want to be too Starbucks-jaded, so I’ll appreciate it for what it is. They also offer pour over brewed coffee if you don’t want to order a latte or cappucino. I’m a huge fan of this, it’s brewed fresh for you and hasn’t been sitting in an urn for hours getting sad. Seating was comfortable and spacious. Noise level /music was a teensy bit loud. Maybe I’m getting old, but it was just us and maybe 2 other tables of people and we had to lean right in to each other to hear our own conversation. Otherwise, a great little place to grab a cup of something delicious!

I am disappointed, I really wanted to love this coffee place because it is closer than my addiction– Rustica and it’s dogwood coffee. I wouldn’t say it’s bad, but the cappuccino I had tasted mild and I prefer medium to dark roast coffee. The foam was nicely done, but the coffee was lukewarm. I would have liked mine a little hotter, maybe you have to ask for it. However, I do love their complimentary sparkling water, really nice touch. The ambience is bright and spacious. It’s good to check it out at least once.

I was walking around NE Minneapolis when we ran in to this coffee shop — I had been wanting to try it for awhile, and there it was! Perfect. The atmosphere is very nice, although they do have the music very loud there(a little of a downside, but you get used to it) I ordered the macchiato — and personally I thought it was burned just a little more than it should’ve — I didn’t say anything about it though because it wasn’t horrible tasting and I could handle it! I love this place though — very minimal.

Cup of coffee? Yes please! If you follow me on Unilocal you know one of my Unilocaler goals is to try all the coffee shops in the Metro area. I was looking forward to this one. Thumbs up: –cute and unique décor –clean, neat, simple tables and chairs with plenty of space –affordable –offers almond milk, delish coffee, and tea –savory and sweet treats available –friendly and knowledgeable staff –central location with plenty of stores surrounding it –easy to navigate, from door to counter to ordering to sit and done –fun restrooms Thumbs down: –parking can be a pain on central ave –more food options please, vegan friendly too please :)

In the last couple of weeks since its opening, Anelace has been praised for its minimalist décor. If you’ve had a cup of their delicious and equally beautiful latte, you agree that it is an accurate description of not only the coffee shop’s interior design, but also its menu(which is of course expected in third wave coffee places). However, what’s been overlooked in reviews is that Anelace is a selfie-worthy spot – and not for the usual reasons. To make my point, I suggest a hypothesis and an experiment. You’re eligible to participate in the experiment, if you have at least 20 followers/friends in a social media suitable for sharing photos. Here is how the experiment goes: Day 1: Take a photo of yourself sitting in a booth from a distance that’s far enough to allow the booth to be seen in the photo. Share it with friends/followers and add the location or write that you took the selfie at this hip coffee shop in NE Minneapolis. Day 2: Take a photo of yourself sitting at the bar, while the white tiled wall is in the background. Just like the first experiment let the viewer know that the photo is taken inside a new multi-roaster coffee shop. Day 3: Take a photo of yourself from the weird under-the-chin angle so people could see the tin ceiling. Just like before write that you took the photo at a coffee shop that serves some of the best single-origin coffee drinks. My hypothesis is that among your followers at least one person would comment along the lines of the following: Day 1: Do they now serve coffee in saunas? Day 2: I didn’t know serving coffee at public baths has become a trend! Day 3: Have you time-traveled to the 1900s to brag about our achievements in coffee brewing? You do the experiment and I have no doubt your followers will prove my hypothesis true at the 95% level of confidence! But regardless of the results, it’s worth visiting the coffee shop three days in a row – or if you live close, everyday!

Beauteous. Simple. Handcrafted. I do love me a tin ceiling, and the interior reminds me of Nicole Curtis and the local-made-famous show Rehab Addict. The floorboards are sanded and you can see the outlines of days past every time you look down. The walls — exposed brick and their long-time lovers, subway tile. I, like many Unilocalers, come for the ambiance in a coffee-shop, and this one has it. It took me a bit to find an outlet, but if you sit at the end of the wall benches, peep around the corner and you’ll find one. Only one. So… beware of tripping on cords. I thought the staff was pleasant and helpful — however you need to ask for water if you want it(points for free sparkling water btw). The treats are from Aki’s Bread Haus nearby, and yummy to boot. However the latte left me wanting. Like wanting some actual espresso in it. I ordered Cardamom latte, and could not taste the spice nor the espresso, although I’m sure if I had asked for another, they would have made me one. I will definitely be coming ’round for another round, but I do hope for more a little more latte in my latte.
