Alamo Rent A Car

Don’t ever rent from Alamo. Even if their prices are cheaper — you’re better off saving your ass and renting somewhere that won’t bill you double the amount of the rental 4 months later for supposed «damages». I rented a car from the Minneapolis airport 4 months ago for a family emergency. I didn’t take pictures of the car ahead of time or even walk around and check the condition — that was my big mistake. I returned the vehicle, flew home, and thought nothing more. 4 months later I get a call saying that I am overdue in my damages payment. I had received nothing in the mail — they had the wrong address and never emailed me an invoice. I just received the bill now and it looks like a complete scam. They enclosed pictures taken outside — with the vehicle covered in rain and the reflection of the photo taker in the background — with so much glare on the pictures that its hard to even see the «scrapes» they are talking about. These scrapes appear to be very superficial and could have happened at anytime as I parked the vehicle on the street — or they could have happened after I returned the vehicle — there is no way of knowing. And yet they are charging me $ 295 to BUFF these scrapes out. There were no dents, and no paint was used or needed and they even acknowledged zero depreciation of the cars value. No amount of reasoning works with their customer service. This is a black and white policy company and they don’t care about the sustaining value of loyal customers. If you do choose to rent from Alamo I’d recommend taking pictures of your vehicle before and after, and taking it through a carwash/​vacuum before returning so they don’t bill you four months later for unexpected shit.

To my surprise they were concerned about my review, they offered a partial refund and a future upgrade coupon.
I hope they follow through and keep an eye on these issues.
I have a conundrum, I never had much luck with enterprise, but this is the first problem with Alamo, and National has always been good to me, now Enterprise is in charge, hmmmm

Pleasant desk and lot employees! Plus when our flight was greatly delayed Alamo gave us a refund for the time we didn’t use the car!!! Awesome company! Will use again! Allowing us to pick the car is a great feature as well!

Great service, easy pick-​up, escorted to the car, given directions and we were on our way. Car was clean and ready to go, refueled and the process took all of 5 minutes.
Yes, we would use them again!

I rented a car here for my business trip and I was really pleased, mostly because the gentleman at the front counter gave me a free birthday upgrade. Small gesture goes a long ways!
The car had no issues and it was new, loved the new car smell aha. They are not strict on what time you return the car during the day it needs to be returned and the pricing wasn’t too bad for the rental. Then again, this is my first rental so I am not sure how the pricing should be but overall from Wed-​Sun I ended up paying about $ 250-​$ 300, I forgot.
I will use them again because I had no issues and they were so kind to me!

I have been renting from Alamo since the early 1990s. The service has always been exceptional and while I have used other rentals in the past, I come back to Alamo simply because I enjoyed doing business with them. My travels decreased over the years, and now has started to pickup, which will definitely increase my rentals with Alamo. Please keep up the great work and excellent service!

I did a 2 day rental online. Unfortunately no kiosks but luckily there was no line. The counter and car are directly across the street from terminal which is a huge bonus. Great service and easy pick up & drop off.

I rented a car at the Minneapolis/​St Paul airport. I reserved the car online at a very good price with a 10% discount as an Alamo Insider. Very friendly service at the counter and an overall excellent experience. I always rent cars from Alamo and always receive great service.

Long line but quick service. Mohammed was very personable and we got upgraded which was fabulous. Thanks to busy day and having the same birthday. Car was perfect.

It’s fine for car rental place. Rented twice from here (12:30am & 6pm) and was upgraded for free each time because they were out of my size car. The staff was efficient and friendly. Returning the car was easy/​like every other place.
Recommend renting on hotwire for cheap rates.
