Ferguson Leavitt Insurance

I checked with the State of Nevada to see if they were holding some of my money (
) and sure enough, they had $ 20 or $ 30 of mine. If I hurried, I could claim it and buy a gallon or two of gasoline.
One catch, though. I had to prove that I had lived at a particular address. I only rented this place for a few months before I bought my house, over ten years ago. I had no records.
I tried my insurance carrier’s web site, explained the situation, and asked if they had copies of any records proving I had lived at this particular address. Their response? «You’ll have to claim your money from the State of Nevada.»
Huh?
Now, I was very clear and concise in asking for EXACTLY what I needed, and they responded as if they never even READ the email. It was like asking someone, «What’s the weather like by you?» and having them respond, «Doughnuts.» Absolutely useless.
I quickly realized what a fool I’d been. Why am I trying to get information from some overseas help desk when I have an insurance agent right down the road?
A quick email to my Ferguson Leavitt Insurance agent did the trick. She had copies of my driver’s license from way back when. In minutes, they were being spewed out my printer. I can already smell the volatile fumes of that ¼ tank of gas!
When I bought my Jeep several months back, they were extremely helpful sending the required paperwork to my bank so they could get everything squared away.
These guys are on top of it.
