History

Established in 2011.

Yoga Ward was established February 2011.

Dean quickly blossomed in the Milwaukee yoga community upon his arrival. His unique flow & style was something new to Milwaukee. Always keeping a down to earth sense of humor, Dean had a way of making people feel comfortable with their practice. More men started to show up in classes, creating a diverse group of students. Word kept traveling & classes were packed with the demand for more. In addition to busy classes throughout the city, Dean maintained a large base of private clients. Students began making requests for Dean to start his own studio so he could offer more classes. Yoga Ward opened & quickly grew with loyal students spreading the word.

Dean Farrell — Owner/Director

I spent the majority of my childhood playtime performing acrobatics and twisting my body into various positions not only for fun, but because it made me feel good mentally and physically. It was no surprise that I was instantly hooked when I discovered the healing and therapeutic benefits of yoga. Always fascinated with the human body, I studied paramedicine and graduated in 1995. My studies have been both scientific and spiritual.

With over 20 years of mind/body studies and experience combined, I have developed a teaching style that is challenging, but kind and therapeutic to the muscles and body via dynamic/static movement.

My teaching style has a simple approach with encouragement to honor the body and explore the full potential. Clients range from housewives, firefighters, police, nurses, physicians, professional athletes, school teachers, dancers, to the modern day yogi/yogini.
