Well Spa at the Pfister

Great massage from Kevin! I will definitely return. I made an appointment for my boyfriend for the day after mine and he enjoyed it as well. It was his first full body and I’m glad he got to experience it here. Loved that there are private suites and my mimosa too ;)

My wife and I have visited the Well Spa on two occasions when we were staying at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. During our last two visits we each got a couples massage ($ 180 before tip) and really enjoyed the experience. The Well Spa’s check in area/​gift store is located on the first floor of the hotel. Once you check in you will be escorted to the lower level waiting area where they have complimentary snacks, water and mimosas. On each visit we were ushered to the same room that included two tables with a full shower. You can choose your preferred music (classical, nature, etc) and relax blissfully as receive your massage. If you’re in Milwaukee and looking for a upscale and clean spa, look no further than Well Spa.

Absolutely fantastic in every sense of the word.
Taking time for self-​care is difficult for many, myself included. My fiancé, recognizing this fact, set me up with two gift cards for massage at Well Spa in exchange for me being his Valentine this year. Win!
I cashed in the first — a 60 min deep tissue massage — last week Wednesday, which ended up being cold, dreary and rainy. (Perfect mid-​week treat yo’self in the dead of March, eh?)
Well Spa is one flight down the stairs, just off the main lobby/​bar area. This well-​appointed spa is basically a private oasis in the middle of downtown Milwaukee in the best way imaginable: water/​tea/​champagne upon arrival (I opted for water, boring, I know, but not because I got to choose from lemon, lime or orange), private service suites with great in-​room showers and bathroom facilities, relaxing music and a lovely ambiance.

*sign in at the Well Spa front desk (in the retail area main level)
*head downstairs to fill out a medical form/​services questionnaire
*proceed to enjoy serious relaxation and expert massage, salon and esthetician services
60 min/​deep tissue = life altering and way overdue in my case (roller derby injuries, years of gymnastics and stress stay can really stay with you)! I can’t say enough good things about Mia’s work with my stressed muscles, she’s like a magician. Roxie (my esthetician) was thoughtful, pleasant and educational without being overbearing and very professional.
Yes, I added an hour-​long «pure radiance» facial ($ 90) just because. Spring and skin and it’s nice to be nice to yourself, sometimes.
I can’t wait to cash in my second massage gift card and get into a nice little habit of self-​care through relaxation on a more regular basis.
Well Spa is downright and I’m beyond stoked to return!

Well, this really isn’t about the spa per se, I think it’s quant for a Milwaukee based spa. I’m usually travel to NY for my spa services because it’s just better there. My spa of choice being Bliss 57 on Lexington.
This rating is about the $ 350 bucks I spent on lashes there. I tried it once before here and was underwhelmed. I had an event to go to and really didn’t get a chance to go to NYC to my usual place. I couldn’t get in at late notice for other places in Milwaukee so I decided to try Well spa again.
That was my first problem.
1. My lashes fell off in like 2 days. For 350, I would think at least a week.
2. Mind you, I get my lashes done in New York at a place that offers plenty of options (j curl vs c curl, lashes from natural to mascara, range of different lengths, and your selection of how many lashes u want example 100 vs 250) I usually go for the 250 count, j curl, natural and, mascara mix and 10,11 length mix. AND MY PRICE IS NORMALLY $ 200 tops and they last 2 – 3 weeks at least and look very real.
For the $ 350 joke at well spa, its one set with no options and that’s it.
3. The glue they use at Well Spa definitely kills some of the cells and veins in your nose.
For the quality. It’s worth maybe 75 bucks. Don’t waste your money.
Salon nova actually was better. Not NYC better, but better

I really wanted to get a massage appointment here but since there was nothing else available I had to make my decision, I’m only in town for one day and I’m a guest at the hotel.
So I went for the spa pedicure and gel polish manicure.
Once I arrived they complimented me with a Mimosa.
I wish they had shellac polish but they only had OPI and gelish.
There is also a Hairsalon inside the nail salon and it gets a bit loud with the hairdryers people talking etc.
Then I asked her if it’s ok for me to make a phone call, thinking it was already loud in there anyway.
She said no it’s not allowed because the clients don’t find that pleasant…
” oh well ok, lol «
After she finished my gel manicure I went to the room where they do pedicures located in the back.
I thought I was going to experience a spa pedicure treatment but I didn’t really get a feeling of it since they were playing loud rock music and people talking and having conversations…
I asked if they had relaxing music she played it for 15 minutes that turned the Pop rock channel back on.
Other than that they both did a good job on the nails but the environment and attitude was very disappointment. Won’t come back here.
Only for massages maybe.

Atmosphere was phenomenal, but how can you go wrong with mimosas and quality time with your friend. We go down for our pedicures which was absolutely sub par, no hot towels and music that made me feel like I was clubbing and I do NOT club and our pedicure have already chipped and it hasn’t even been 3 hours. Very disappointed in paying $ 80 with tip on very sub par services.

I recently visited the Well Spa and Salon and unfortunately while making my reservation I was hung up on and had to call back. Me and my husband were greeted with smiling faces. The massages were great however when I was checking out I was helped by a women who was «newer» named Nikki and seemed to have no idea what to do upon checkout. I was asked if I left a tip downstairs or if I needed to leave a 20% tip here, which I felt was extremely rude. It was unfortunate to have such an experience as the Pfister has such a high quality reputation and I felt I was shorted upon the last moments of my visit. Having this experience I am unsure if I will return to the Well Spa.

I am surprised at my experience at this spa. I had a simple gel polish change and one finger (on each hand) fancy stamp that didn’t go well and the out come was a big fail. It started 20 minutes late, which didn’t bother me one bit, as I was treated to a glass of champagne and read through half a magazine. Once I was called back, it took a few minutes to select a color and begin the service. The color application didn’t take long and was cured in a normal amount of time, however the stamp took a bit of time due to some equipment malfunction. The nail tech did the stamp on one nail of my left hand and when I asked her to do one nail on my right she seemed both surprised and annoyed. She took the time to tell me that she had spent nearly an hour with me for a polish change. I reminded her that the service started 20 late and it had really only been 35 min. She proceeded to correct me, insisting she came out only 5 min late. Well, I guess I managed to down half a glass of champagne and read 40 or so pages of a magazine in those 5 minutes I waited. All would have been fine until I checked out my nails on my way up to pay for the service. It was sloppy, with polish on my skin (cured, none the less, so very difficult to clean) and uneven edges on most nails. When asked how the service went, instead of saying «fine» like I normally would, I decided to let the front desk know that I was surprised at how poor my nails looked, showing how bad the application was on several nails. No response. Instead I was asked whether I would give my nail technician a 20% tip, or another amount. $ 35 for a sloppy looking polish change and a glass of champagne. The two stars is because of the nice pampering prior to the service starting. The polish change would get zero stars. This was really surprising for a high end spa, and rather disappointing for the inflated hotel spa rates. We come to the Pfister every year during the holidays and sadly that was the last spa visit for me.

I was seeking an amazing deep tissue massage, and wanted to try a new spa. Since it is right down the road, I figured I’d treat myself to the Well Spa located on the first floor of the Pfister Hotel. The hotel has a parking structure, which was complimentary and connected to the hotel!
Once I got inside, Oh… my…GOD!!! This was my first time ever in the Pfister. It is beyond gorgeous. I could rant and rave forever on the interior design… classy and just phenomenal. I was speechless in the lobby. The Christmas décor made me so happy!!!
I went straight to the spa after oogling the lobby in awe. I filled out a short health form and was provided with a complimentary beverage of my choice (champagne and mimosas included! YUM!!) and was taken back in to my OWN personal suit. My masseuse was Eric and he was professional but friendly and made me very comfortable. We discussed what areas were bothering me so he could tailor the massage to my unique needs.
Once cozied into the table, I was given some choices to make my experience as relaxing as possible. I was asked about the temperature, apparently the table heats up and could be adjusted as needed! The temperature was already perfect. Then I had the choice of what music I wanted. I chose «Relaxing» but had the options of classical music, nature sounds, or my own iPod playlist! So cool! Last I was asked if I wanted aromatherapy, of course I said yes! I am all about the full experience! I could choose from grapefruit, lavender, and eucalyptus. I went with lavender for relaxation and stress release.
I received an immaculate 90 minute deep tissue massage. I melted into the massage table and felt like a blob of jello. It was also hard not to fall asleep because I was SO relaxed. Eric asked me if the pressure was ok various times to make sure it was enjoyable and what I wanted. A promotional deal that was also going on was a complimentary upgrade for a 15 minute service, and I chose the hot coconut oil scalp massage. After the massage, I also received a 30 minute Hammam steam shower and mud treatment. I was warned the steam can be a little intense and it was. But the whole purpose of the steam and mud is induce an extreme warmth and extract impurities. I had to leave the shower door cracked open because it did get a little too hot for my comfort level. Without buying the steam shower, everyone who gets a massage gets a complimentary shower in this huge amazing shower complete with a rain shower and wall jets!
Overall my experience was heavenly. Pricey… but so high class and with quality products and amazing services, SO worth the occasional splurge!

I was not a fan. The location is nice and relaxing, but the massage itself was overpriced and only so-​so. I filled out a sheet with my preferences: table temperature, type of music, etc. None of my preferences were used. They massage therapist asked me to pick where I wanted her to focus on since it was a short massage. I asked had a thirty minute deep tissue massage focusing on my back (and gave specific areas of my back that bothered me). The cost was $ 85 not including tip. I wouldn’t have minded the cost had it been a good massage. She spent a third to half of the time on my scalp. She only did deep tissue on my right side. I left feeling uneven and worse than when I came in. Ugh.

Let’s says that The Pfister is a class place, and the Spa keeps that quality. I made an appointment at this spa because my Wife’s normal place was booked. She enjoyed it but said that the therapist did not go deep enough into the muscles. Good massage but not great. The shower was incredible (with all the jets), but she felt rushed to complete the service.
Like said, Good but not great… Very Pricey

My experience was fantastic! I had a 60min deep tissue massage with Kevin. After picking sounds, temperature, etc, I was shown my private suite.
Additional: They had champagne, and fruits and nuts, water with lemon. And my shower came equipt with waterfall and side spritzer features. They also offered aromatherapy scents during the massage. Currently I contemplate moving in there.
Full disclosure: This was my first professional massage, I was a little nervous. Kevin was open and friendly to my questions, and walked me through the process beforehand. Kevin also is is an amazing masseuse! I considered proposing at one point. He is obviously experienced at what he does and very professional. I would definitely recommend! It’s a little expensive but well worth it.

I came in from Chicago for an impromptu visit to Milwaukee and was able to get an appointment the same day (Sunday and Father’s Day). I was excited! I arrived and was greeted with warm reception by all staff. This was amazing! I was welcomed into a lavish environment that also felt embracing. I received offers for champagne, mimosa, and lemon water. I was given a private room with all luxuries including private shower with a warm robe awaiting. The ambiance was amazing. The choice to pick which music played during the session, to pick the temperature of the bed, to pick the scent of the oil, and also to pick when to shower were all extremely accommodating. The massage was especially incredible and the masseuse (Breanna I believe) was professional and communicated warmly. She was very personable. I felt completely at ease and comfortable with her. I had an overwhelmingly great experience and already recommended WELL Spa + Salon to friends, family, and coworkers! Thank you for the experience. I look forward to returning.

I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading some mixed reviews. However, my experience was excellent in every way. Beautiful, quiet facilities. Attentive and friendly staff. Everything was professional to the highest degree.
There were a few reviewers that mentioned receiving insufficient time for the services they ordered. That was the opposite of my experience. If anything, I felt that we received more time than ordered for the hydrotherapy bath and couples massage. I would highly recommend this spa and hope to return soon.

Amazing spa. Had a great massage here. Loved the shower afterwards. I could spend the whole afternoon there.

I did finally receive a phone call from management after it was discovered that the front desk had written down the incorrect phone number. She did listen to my concerns and was apologetic for the incident. I did receive a refund for the time I was charged for and did not receive.

I’d call this 3.5 stars, as there’s a lot of good stuff here, but the spa falls short of others in a few ways.
After checking in on the lobby level of the Pfister, we were sent to wait in the spa & salon waiting room downstairs. It’s pretty, and there was champagne, but it was so loud — not at all relaxing. And at this point, we were still in street clothes, had filled out our paperwork, and just lingered for a long time. There are no other common areas/​relaxation rooms, etc. Everything is in private suites.
The I was taken to a suite with a service area and a really lovely private bathroom. Discussed my facial with the aesthetician and she left while I got situated. I had a 90 minute facial with a hot oil scalp massage. The facial was professional, soothing, ultra-​relaxing. The hot oil treatment was perfect. Facials are always my favorite because there is usually lot of massage included, and this one fit the bill, except… This is the first facial I’ve had (of dozens) where no foot massage was included. With 90 minute facials, they usually treat your hands and feet while various masks and serums are left to soak into your face, but here they only treated the hands. In fact, I got two hand massages and warm mittens. But my feet were left out in the cold. Bummer!
You can follow up your service with a lovely private shower in your suite, but they will take that out of your treatment time.
So while I enjoyed my facial, the staff was nice and the facilities were pretty, I felt the service and the atmosphere lacked some punch. Very good, but no «wow» factor. 3.5 stars.

I had heard such wonderful things about this spa and wanted to try it out. I did the Hydrotherapy bath on a cold day and figured it would be a nice and relaxing experience. I arrived 30 min in advance thinking I could take advantage of the facility first. They were 5 minutes lates in letting me into the bath then never offered any refreshments once inside. The water was scalding hot so it took 5 minutes to cool off the water. I couldn’t find the women who brought me in so after 20 minuted she told me I had 5 minutes to get out. I didn’t get the full amount of time and they were very rude. There was no time to relax and shower after the treatment. Then I was encouraged to give a 20% gratuity in front of my guest to use a bath? I would never go back to this place and think there are much better deals elsewhere!

Couples #fail
I arranged for some spa time this Valentines Day. We arrived early and were promptly greeted and escorted to an amazing waiting room, and were then offered champagne or mimosa’s but opted for lemon water. Finally escorted to our private suite, I noted the time was now about quarter hour after the anticipated start. We got some direction but the attendant didn’t seem too familiar with operation of the fancy steam shower. Overall we felt a bit rushed, by the time we had things figured out it was time to leave.
Scheduling service was a breeze. I did contact afterwards to express my displeasure but didn’t get a response back. Lastly, gratuity was added on directly which was unaware of until I left but I’d already left cash.

Being from Chicago, I’m used to getting what you pay for. And to get an excellent massage at a nice spa, you have to be ready to pay the big bucks.
In this instance, my friend booked our services and I was too busy to ever visit the website to check out the price beforehand, but figured whatever the cost, I was treating myself. At the start of our short but sweet spa day, we were offered complimentary (good) glasses of champagne. I think because it was Valentine’s Day, there were also chocolate covered strawberries (YUM!) and cookies to indulge in.
I was promptly called by my therapist, Ashley, and escorted to my private suite, that included your own private bathroom with a giant shower you had the choice to use before or after your service. The lighting was perfect, which is actually very important when setting the right mood for a relaxing massage. I had the option of choosing an aroma to smell during my massage, which was a really nice tough. I was able to choose my music, my bed temperature, and if I wanted to add on any services (I chose to add on a hand treatment). Then my massage began. After only 5 minutes in, I could tell this Angel of Hands was going to give me the best massage I’ve ever had — and I’ve had A LOT of them. Ashley provided the perfect pressure, worked on areas that were tighter than other, and finally got a knot that I’ve had for 8 weeks out of my shoulder. As I lay there in pure bliss, I kept thinking about how hefty this price tag was going to be, but how little I cared b/​c it was worth every penny.
And then after finishing up (first showering in my private, gigantic, shower and sipping another glass of wine with another chocolate covered strawberry) and getting to check out, I was told that amazing experience was only $ 90!!! I mean, dumb Massage Envy is more expensive than that! I plan to head back to Milwaukee to stay at The Pfister and do a whole spa day, b/​c who could afford NOT to?! So yeah, I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone.
(disclosure, I’m fully aware this is still an extravagance and don’t actually believe $ 90 is a small amount of money, but when you compare this service to that of places that charge more, it makes it seem very small. And if you go, you have to get Ashely — she was AMAZING).

Come here for a service paired with champagne, a mimosa, some fruit, a delicious nut mix and an oasis of sorts.
Come here to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Come here and expect to spend money, but in my experiences your money is well spent here. Have been here for some waxing services prior to this visit, and pricing is comparable to other spas and salons, but the atmosphere surpasses others that I have been to in more ways than one.
My husband and I just enjoyed a 60 minute couples massage for $ 90 each. There was a slight mix up between the service desk and the massage therapists, because we didn’t receive the deep tissue that I had requested, but there was no issue or question, and we weren’t charged for the service we didn’t get. Not all businesses would handle a mix up so gracefully, but that’s what you can expect at the Well Spa.
And the sweet nuts in the almond nut mix. Expect those too. And tastebuds, be delighted.

I was looking for a massage as a suprise for a birthday present, looking at the WELL spa I thought they were a tad bit much, so I decided to do some shopping around.
I found other spa’s in the area, however their reviews weren’t very good and thanks to the almighty Google, that saved me from going somewhere where the owner was previously arrested for assaulting customers.
Needless to say I made reservations at the WELLspa, and it was the best choice I made. The front desk greeted us, made note of my boyfriends birthday, and brought him a birthday dessert. Our couples massage was amazing, it was my first one and I highly recommend it. They use oils, you can choose your music, and the beds are heated. I felt very comfortable. The only minor complaint I have is parking on weekends in the structure
And of course the best part of all is the mimosa’s and champagne.
HIGHLY recommended.

The people at the Well Spa are incredibly welcoming and delightful. I’ve been there for body treatments before, but even for something as simple as a special occasions hair up-​do, they are wonderful to work with! It’s a peaceful departure from the hustle and bustle of downtown MKE.
Maria was my stylist. She was professional, very friendly and listened to what I wanted. She did a fabulous job and I was thrilled with my hair! I will definitely be returning to her for additional hair appointments. Thanks again for a great job!

Really really nice spa! The personal bathrooms are incredible. I get my brows waxed and a prenatal massage. Magdalena was my masseuse and she is super sweet and accommodating. I can’t comment on pressure because of the massage I chose and it’s relaxation properties but it was nice. I had fallen asleep by the end. My brows always look nice and for twenty dollars I can’t complain.
The only thing I really wish was different was that you could lounge in a robe before and after your service in the main room. I believe you can do this after but it wasn’t offered before. I like to unwind with some hot tea etc.
Otherwise great spa, very clean, great service and services.

I’ve been to the Well Spa a few times for various services including waxing and a deep tissue massage. While the services are pricey, I’ve been treated like royalty, or what I imagine that would be like.
When my boyfriend and I arrived for our 60-​minute deep tissue massages, we were escorted downstairs to the spa and offered complimentary champagne, mimosas, juice, or water while waiting. There were also a few snacks available as well. We were then able to choose the temperature of the «massage suite», the music, and if I would prefer to shower before or after the massage (or not at all).
Then we were escorted to our individual massage suites and were able to choose the temperature of the massage bed and the aromatherapy scents (grapefruit, lavender, eucalyptus, or a mixture). I was given a few minutes to undress to my comfort level and then my masseuse, Shauna, came in and commenced the amazing massage. She was very professional and very good at the deep tissue massage!
The shower was almost as good as the massage. There were several shower heads and body jets in a massive, dimly lit (in a good way) shower with provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There was a hair cap, brush, and hair dryer provided. The towels could have been a bit softer and fluffier but that is my only «compliant» of the whole experience! My boyfriend said he was just as satisfied and impressed with his massage! Will definitely be returning and recommending the Well Spa to friends– probably more for special occasions (anniversary, birthday, etc) due to the price.

LOVE the Well Spa. Definitely not an everyday experience for me, as the price is a little more than I like for every pedicure, but I do feel you get what you pay for.
The service is fantastic. Start off with some champagne or a mimosa (or just orange juice ;)) and have as much as you want while they pamper away.
I’ve been there a couple times now, and both times my pedicures felt and looked fantastic. Lavi is my favorite — sooo nice and lovely to chat with while she does magic to my feet :)
Plus, the Pfister is just nice to look at!

Talk about being pampered.
I am not a big spa goer, so hitting up the Pfister was a pretty out-​there experience for me. I’ve gotten massages before, but not until this day did I receive an experience that left me wanting to basically move into the lower level of the Pfister, put my stake in the ground and claim «my room» as my future home.
I digress …
We had a group of four of us getting our massages on. We had the Orchid room (which is a fabulous private lounge area for your party) before and after our massages. Here we sat around in the lux couches and sipped our mimosas like we were socialites. Then we made our way to our private rooms for our massages. If anything makes you want to get pampered here vs. other spas it’s three words: Your Own Bathroom. Yeah. That means after your massage you can jump into the shower and sludge off all that scented oil in privacy. That’s baller.
The entire experience was fabulous and incredibly relaxing. Just thinking about it is making me daydream (or go into a food coma from my lunch …). I’d highly recommend this for a fun outing with family or friends.
