The previous reviewer summed up Tangerine quite nicely. All I can add is that as a non-dancer, I felt perfectly comfortable busting a move in this non-intimidating non-snobby environment. The vibe was great, everyone was just out to have a good time.

Classy and full of confidence, but not pretentious or intimidating. It’s like some magical combination of the best parts of my favorite clubs. Pure, without the pretension or the typical Vegas cover. Supper Club, but exclusively mid-to-late 20-somethings(who aren’t tech-prodigies). the Downtown Standard, minus the«LA-vibe»(but no pool… they did keep the tactilely-tempting furniture though!). I’ve always claimed that LA was the gold standard. The reason I’m slightly jaded when it came to music, women, and drinks. So I’m am shocked to say(as my friends are to hear) that Milwaukee(of all places) rivals any place on the west coast. I know. LA has the numbers, but imagine some freaky combination of(1) sweet-Midwestern charm,(2) that iPod commercial with Wolf Mother’s «Love Train»,(3) a Scandinavian model convention and(4) that Entourage episode in Vegas. I admit I was wrong, SOWRONG about Milwaukee. So let’s have no more assumptions on your end, judge the locals for yourself. The women are beautiful, hip, unpretentious and outgoing. The men, hmmm, ‘not so much’ according to the girls of Milwaukee. Why more attractive and successful men haven’t flocked here in droves, I don’t know(and don’t care.) It’s like the Alaska-ratio turned on it’s head(and yet still bitchin cold… weird). (did I mention you can buy a huge house on Lake Michigan for the cost of a SOMA or Georgetown condo?)
