Dr. Koenig is head of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and is a fellowship-trained corneal specialist, who has performed thousands of successful LASIK procedures. When it was founded in 1976, the Froedtert & Medical College Eye Institute was one of only seven academic eye centers in the nation. Dr. Steven B. Koenig, an eye surgeon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, became a faculty member at the Eye Institute in 1983, after completing a two-year fellowship at LSU Eye Center, specializing in cataract, cornea and refractive surgery. His expertise includes one-stitch corneal transplants, complex cataract surgery, pediatric cataracts, and LASIK surgery. He has a particular interest in refractive cataract surgery and premium lens implantation, as well as keratoconus. Dr. Koenig is currently head of the cornea and refractive surgery service at the Froedtert & Medical College Eye Institute, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
