Brunch is huge in Milwaukee, and thanks to the Smoke Shack at Miller Park, you can get a brunch fix while there for an afternoon game. Oh man. Try the Hamdinger. It’s a sandwich featuring slow-roasted, smoked ham, shredded and situated on a made-from-scratch yeast donut from sister company Holey Moley Donuts, which also has an outlet in Miller Park. Folks, pictures don’t lie. Check it to see this tender juicy ham piled high on the sugared donut. Mmm Mmm good. The combination is unbelievably good. Finger-licking good. It’s a large sandwich made to be savored. Best eaten slowly so it can be thoroughly enjoyed. You can choose to add a little barbecue sauce if you like, but the meat stands on its own deliciousness. What more do you need on a beautiful afternoon at Miller Park!!!

Smoke Shack is a relative newcomer to Miller Park’s many food offerings — I believe this is their 2nd year. The stand is easy to miss as its tucked away in a corner of the 1st level on the 1st base side. They did do a nice job of recreating the«shack» exterior of the 3rd Ward location. The menu is obviously limited — basically pulled pork, ham or chicken sandwiches along with chips and fries. The Mister went with the pulled chicken and was very happy with it. It’s a generous serving of moist chicken served on a pretzel bun — you add whatever sauce you like at the condiment bar. For around $ 9, it was a good value in terms of ballpark prices. FYI, Smoke Shack is right next to AJ Bombers, and they share a(crowded) waiting area. You’ll get a number and they’ll call it when your stuff is ready. I was pretty surprised at how long it took to get our food considering all they had to do was slap some chicken on a bun. The workers here are not hustling, that’s for sure. All in all, one of the best options for food at Miller Park!
