I thought Id try a better place, LOL, to get a haircut. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! I asked for my hair to be layered, I did not get it. I should of saved the money and cut it myself! Please dont get your hair cut here, your better off with supercuts!!!

I recently moved to the East Side from New York, and I absolutely love this salon! I’ve been there 4 times now, and I’m always very happy with the service provided. I see Julia, and she is wonderful. Highly recommend this salon!

I recommend Julia! She is very experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly. My hair type is straight, medium length, and fine. I am very particular about how my hair is cut. Julia is a great listener and asks the right questions to pinpoint the haircut. She pays attention to detail and takes her time. I had a great experience at East Town Spa & Salon/​Reagan & Ruby Salon on Brady street!

I used a groupon for a haircut and blow dry. I usually stick to a trim and style with groupons to just test the place out. I had a special event to attend that day so I asked for a trim on my layers, specified I wanted the top layers and front to grow out, and a wavy finish. The layers look good, but she gave me long swoopy bangs that I didn’t ask for. Her blow dry job was rough and left my hair frizzy. She touched up with a curling iron and my hair looked like a mess of unstructured curls with check marks at the ends. It’s what you get when you don’t curl all the way to the end. I asked her to loosen them up, but it was too late at that point. It looked like a beginner made an attempt at curling my hair. I missed part of the event trying to fix my hair at home. I expected my hair to be smooth and wavy.

I had a Groupon for a haircut only and had a wonderful experience. Seems like the negative reviews are mostly about color/​highlights so I can’t speak to that. Julia was extremely pleasant and professional. I am fairly low maintenance and only ask that stylists don’t chop my hair so short it can’t be put back in a ponytail. You’d be surprised I often that happens to me. Julia did not do that :) She was also able to add a few layers without making my hair look super weird which also seems to happen fairly often (I think it might be because of my super fine hair).
The salon itself is a small, no frills kinda place but I don’t mind because I’m not looking for some fancy pampering while I get my haircut. I don’t think they deserve the harsh reviews they’ve gotten so far. I would recommend Julia for sure!

I got my hair cut tonight by Abbie and she was wonderful! I love the cut and she was very friendly! I will definitely be back!

I bought a Groupon for a full color and haircut and then returned it because of all the bad reviews. Then, I talked to a friend who had been going to East Town and really liked it… so I RE-​bought the Groupon and thought I’d give it a try… Just had an appointment with Ashley at Reagan & Ruby and had a great experience… she was welcoming, as were the other employees. She talked me through what she was doing and what to expect. My color is awesome — just what I wanted, just a touch darker than my natural color and full of shine. My cut is also great — I didn’t want anything fancy, just a trim, really; but I’ve experienced people screwing even that up. Honestly — not sure about everyone else’s experiences, but mine was pretty good. The space itself could use a little updating, but it’s got that eastside feel to it… doesn’t bother me at all. I say, check it out!

I received a Groupon mid July for $ 19 for a haircut, blow dry and conditioning at East Town Spa or Reagan & Ruby Salon (they are owned under the same management). I chose to go to Reagan & Ruby Salon, because it was a little closer to my house.
I was excited to find this Groupon as I just returned from teaching English abroad for a year and hadn’t had a haircut the entire time and was also out of money. However, I knew the second I met the girl, I didn’t want my hair cut by her. Yet I continued and left quite unsatisfied.
There were only two girls working in the small salon and I was the only customer for my set time. The girl who cut my hair basically told me she recently got out of school, wasn’t very confident or «cocky» as fellow hairdressers and while she was very friendly, she talked to me about my life, and asked zero questions about my hair. I typically like a hairdresser to tell me what my best options are for layers/​my curly hair/​shaping/​etc. and she just kind of did a really boring, nothing special haircut. At one point, she even asked the other hairdresser to ask for help and while the other one was trying to show her a demonstration, I just told her she could go for it. It was very unprofessional and odd. Again, while the girl was pleasant, her inexperiences really showed and I was not happy leaving at all, but had no words to express myself without sounding upset or argumentative.
Fairs warning though: Don’t go here.

Went here for the first time today. They have a great walk in special, free cut with a color service. Julia, my stylist was really nice and have me the exact cut and color that I was looking for. It is Aveda so expect that signature smell and products but I can wash my hair so that doesn’t really bother me. I felt like the price was what I was expecting after the discount my total was $ 75ish before tip. I’ll be back!

Beware you groupon buyers and get ready to feel like you made a poor choice. At least you won’t have paid full price… but still. You too will soon experience the poor customer service and mediocre haircuts at this place that I have. Eh, don’t worry. We all make mistakes.

Nice salon. My hair cut was good and my massage was decent, however they lack in the customer service department. They advertise that they do shellac for nails. They do have the product however no one is properly trained to apply it. It is supposed to last two to three weeks. I had to go back the next day because it peeled and was applied too thick. The new application looked much better however that one only lasted about two days. Oh did I mention I fell down their front stairs??? Two day before my wedding I fell down their stairs because of the ice build up. I walked down the aisle a bruised bride and Lisa never even apologized. All that was said was that there was plenty of salt on the stairs and this happens all of the time.

I don’t like to judge a place on one experience so this review is based on about a year’s worth of salon trips. There is only one stylist, which is fine because there’s never more than one client. The chairs are uncomfortable, hair cuts are unflattering, prices too high for the quality, oh and they BLEACHED MY ENTIRE BACK but only told me it was water! I went straight to work looking ridiculous because she didn’t have the decency to tell me she made a mistake. Customer service? What customer service? The stylist, Lisa, and Manager, blew me off when I tried to get compensated for my ruined sweater. I can only imagine the other horror stories. Supercuts is down the road — and they put this place to shame.
