History

Established in 1977.

Founded in 1971 by Richard J. Podell and his father, the late Ralph J. Podell. The practice currently includes attorneys Richard J. Podell and Barry J. Book who combined have over 68 years of family law experience.

Business Owner

Richard J. Podell:

Richard J. Podell graduated from Colgate university (A.B. 1966) and the University of Wisconsin (J.D. 1969).

He is the President of Podell & Book, S.C. and former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Milwaukee Bar, State Bar of Wisconsin and the ABA, as well as the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In addition to being a certified mediator in Family Law by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Barry J. Book:

Barry J. Book graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1986 and from Marquette University Law School in 1989.

He is the Vice-​President and a Shareholder at Podell & Book, S.C. Since his admission to the Bar in 1989, Mr. Book has practiced in a number of areas including Criminal, Civil, Real Estate, Probate and Family Law. His practice now focuses exclusively on Family Law.
