I just visited the Pendleton store this past Sunday, early afternoon, and I was so happy I did! Originally, I was going to order a blanket online, but it was listed as back-ordered and I wanted the blanket as a hostess gift for a wedding out of the country. I wish I knew the name of the very kind sales associate who helped me find exactly what I was looking for. She was sincere, friendly, and took the time to assist me. The blanket was so much more vivid and beautiful seeing it in person than online. There was another sales associate at the store and she was also very nice. The layout of the store is appealing and customer-friendly. Thank you!

The Pendleton store came highly recommended by my friend, the late John Alley. John was a world traveler and loved his Pendleton shirts for comfort and wearability, and he was ecstatic that a Pendleton store opened in Milwaukee. Sadly, I never got here before John passed but I got there today, in his honor. The store is located inside an 1893 former City of Milwaukee fire house. The overhead door is still there and still operates.(I suspect it is a reproduction.) The building is beautiful and some of the original woodwork is still there. The manager told me that there were four brass poles in the firehouse although the brass poles were long gone when the store moved in. A bronze statue is located in front of the old station, honoring Milwaukee firemen — have you picture taken with the fireman and his dog! The store is loaded with wonderful merchandise, both long and short sleeve, woolen and cotton blends, mens and womens, childrens, and of course, the classic Pendleton blankets. You will also find hats, caps and some very interesting shoes. As you would expect from Pendleton, prices range from moderate to pricey, depending on the merchandise. Sale prices are very attractive. You will also find very friendly and knowledgeable staff members that are helpful but not pushy or intrusive. The St. Paul Avenue bridge opened today, and in celebration, the store was offering a 25% discount on all merchandise(except blankets.) I took advantage and bought a nice, bright, red plaid, short-sleeve shirt. The store is located in the heart of the fashionable Third Ward, so when you’re headed for an ethnic festival or one of the fashion stores in the area, be sure to stop in and see what Pendleton has to offer. You won’t be disappointed!

A piece of Pendleton, Oregon in the Third Ward of Milwaukee.(The company headquarters is actually further West on I-84 in Portland.) Pendleton Woolen Mills specializes in woven Indian blankets and wide range of Made in the USA clothing. This shop is located in a historic former fire house, look for the bronze statue outside of a fireman and his dog. The shop itself is beautifully curated — lots of color, textures(and price ranges) going on. The architectural elements of the historic building are respected and integrated in to the retail space. The two employees were very helpful — I was looking for some pattern print t-shirts I saw on their website and they went above and beyond to assist. HOURS?: The hours aren’t posted on the building. The hours aren’t posted on their website. Not posted on Unilocal.Makes it hard to shop if you don’t know they’re open! MADISON: Why does Madison beat us to the national chains we actually want here?(Pendleton, Jamba Juice, etc) On Wikipedia:

How cool to have a Pendleton in downtown Milwaukee! The store looks great and I love their made in USA items. I saw a bird blanket that I would LOVE to have.
