Some bouncer stole my id here when it was obviously me. He threatened me when I tried to get it back and proceeded to tell me if i admimitted it was fake he would give it back. When i tould him it was me again he told me to fuck off. It was me and I will not lie just to please a bouncer on a power trip. Do not go here ever for any reason unless you want to have your Id stolen and deal with being threatened by a bouncer on a power trip. Worst service ever

We had a table for a bachelorette party and couldn’t have been more happy with the service. The servers were constantly checking on our table, refilling mixers and removing used glasses. They were also really nice and friendly. The other staff at the club were great and really responsive. Apparently someone(not in our party) got sick in the bathroom and the staff was on it before the patron ever left the bathroom. Making the reservation was a breeze — just called during the daytime — and the person making the booking was really helpful. The club itself was pretty quiet until around 11. The music was good the entire night and we had a great time!

Went to Oak a few times and never had a problem but we went last night which was a Tuesday and the bouncer stood in front of us and shouted«Your NOT coming in» before we even said or did anything. We were confused and asked why and he pointed at the guy I was with and just said«tennis shoes». Normally, we’re fine with dress codes and follow them. However, we’ve been there multiple times before and he wore the same shoes. We were obviously confused and agreed to leave. Most of the other guys being let in were wearing tennis shoes as well so I’m not sure what the problem was with us. We were dressed nicely and appropriately. Needless to say we won’t be going back there. Who wants to buy new shoes just to go to a bar? Screw it we’ll go elsewhere. My tip to Oak: Get rid of the bouncer who was so rude. We were frequent and paying customers and thats not exactly how you treat someone. Also, if you want to enforce a dress code make sure its viewable on your webpage. I looked for one and didn’t see it anywhere.

I don’t normally write a negative review but this place has homophobia oozing out their pores. ViP table and my friend can’t dance on stage cuz he is a boy. Not even homophobia tho, the environment is like if you are a woman you are nothin but a price of ass. Bummer yo

I have been to better clubs and I have been to much worse clubs. I cannot really speak to the quality of the rest of the staff as we were doing the bottle service thing, but our waitress was great. Anything we needed she brought immediately. As far as bottle service prices, Kettle One ran $ 180 with whatever mixers you’d like sans Red Bull. Again, not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. The place itself was smaller than I expected. It had the feel of an ultra lounge with a smaller dance floor and decent sound system. The music was OK. The crowd was a good mix. It was younger professionals of both sexes and a group of trashy chicks looking for free drinks. When your entire a** is hanging out of your dress, it’s probably a sign you are trash. But they ended up on the stage VIP area so I guess they accomplished their goal. I would definitely go back and give it another shot. I had quite a bit of fun.

Horrible service. We live in Milwaukee NOT Los Angeles. There is no reason that a cup of tap water should cost $ 3 in the 414. Pretentious.

Great staff and great management. If you are looking to hear good music by some of the best DJs in Milwaukee, then this is the place to come to. The only surviving club/lounge in the city and the only safe place to get bottle service.

Very different from other Milwaukee bars/clubs. It’s a nicer place, although the crowd isn’t very diverse. Decenter music and always have had a good time there. Drinks are solid. Bartenders have been well-trained and know what they’re doing.

The Milwaukee club scene has been dying for a couple years now. Library closed, Suite has devolved into a mess and so on. Oak is one of the few survivors that still exists as a true club scene. There’s really two ways to review it. By big city standards, Chicago/New York etc., it’s a two star. By Milwaukee standards it’s a four or maybe five star. But that’s because it has little competition, not because it’s great. It’s a decently run club with generally friendly staff. I always get a table, and the girls are attractive and reasonably attentive. Again, not Chicago quality on either score, but okay. It’s a little awkwardly set up, but it is what it is. The tables are okay at best. There’s a couple decent ones(by the windows) and then a couple that aren’t so good. Overall, when in Milwaukee it’s one of the only viable clubs to be seen at.

Obviously people with the negative reviews are the ones who either got too wasted and got kicked out or dressed like they were going to the gym and got denied. If you love music and enjoy the big city life this is the place to be. The sickest Djs from all around the world, most chill and fun atmosphere in Milwaukee. Nothing comes close to the experience you will have at Oak. If you are celebrating anything and want a classy and fun atmosphere, that you would only find in big cities like Chicago or L.A. Oak is the only place to provide you with that. With world famous acts like Dany Avila, Morgan Page, Stafford Brothers, and Gabriel and Dresden throwing down in the booth, there is no way you can say this isn’t the place to be on the weekends.

I’ve been in the hospitality business since I was 15. I’ve worked in golf clubs, nightclubs, and hotels but in no place have I ever encountered such unprofessionalism and inconsistency. I’ve been here a good half dozen times and never enjoyed myself fully. Drink Specials are cancelled hours before their end time. People are rude, pushy and intent on causing drama. And the bouncers. I have seen bouncers pocketing 20’s and 50’s to let people skip in line. People with fake ID’s dropping Benjamins to get in the door. 2 months ago my boyfriend was wearing laceups and they wouldn’t let him in unless he dropped a $ 20. A few weeks ago another friend brought his birth certificate and social security card since he lost his ID and they wouldnt let him in until he dropped $ 20 bucks. This saturday for halloween we stood in line for 45 minutes but when asked to pony up dough my friends and I decided to leave. Oak is a joke. The patrons are either friends of the promoters and hoity toity or so mad at being shysted by the bouncers that they can’t have a good time. My crew and I have given Oak enough chances and from now on we will be having our functions solely at Dick’s and other establishments where class goes before cash!

Great low key, happy hour place. Friendly service with accommodating bartenders. Luxury décor without the pretentiousness. Will definitely come again.

Awesome club in the 3rd ward area! The DJs that they have here are on point, from the local names to acts like Morgan Page and Gabriel and Dresden. The general crowd is fun, good mix of young professionals and always hot women(have you seen the VIP girls?!) The drinks are kinda pricey, but on Thursday nights drinks are free for girls(until 2AM, does any other bar even do that?) and for us guys there are specials on shots and some drinks; only like $ 3-$ 5. Not sure what’s up with all these D-Bags below… This is a dope place, Thursdays and Saturdays are my favorite nights.

Do you remember that jock from high school that spent a small fortune upgrading his crappy car? Now imagine this guy bought a bar. Welcome to Oak. It’s pretentious without the sophistication. It tries to be upscale… but only manages to meet the lowest of expectations. Plastic cups… really? We were seated, and then told to move because the area was«reserved.» The table wasn’t marked as reserved nor were we told that when we were seated. The most damning fact was that I was charged for more on my credit card than I signed for when I closed my tab. This is completely unacceptable. With the density of establishments in the Third Ward, there are a dozen places in a block’s radius that are more enjoyable and less stressful than Oak. I’d recommend 106seeboth as an alternative – their outdoor seating area is phenomenal.

Snotty bartender on ladies night. Asked if they were still doing the free sparkling wine for ladies night. He said, «no we don’t have sparkling wine, we have champagne.» He pulled out the bottle, it was NOT from Champagne, France. Took forever for anyone of my friends to get a drink, mind you we’re also in the f&b industry. If he were a real bartender and knew what he was talking about, he would have said yes, they have sparkling wine. Overpriced drinks and no where to sit. You can’t call it a lounge because all the seats were reserved. For whom? I didn’t care to sit around for the rest of the night to find out. Never going back to this sorry establishment.

This place is a SCAM run by THIEVES. I paid to check my coat. When I got my coat back, my iPod was missing. The manager assured me «that’s not the way we do business» and told me he’d find my iPod. 2 days later, no iPod and he’s claiming it’s not his problem. There’s nothing special about this place, and the workers steal your stuff. If you don’t like being robbed, I suggest you avoid this place.

Imagine if the meat heads from your high school football team got their GEDs and threw a graduation party in your creepy uncles 70’s inspired soft core porn basement lounge with overpriced drinks while hitting on his underage daughter.

Words that come to mind. Rude. Snobby. Overpriced. They advertised ladies night from 9−10pm on their flyers but their headlines say 9−11pm. Either inform your bartenders or get your advertising correct but don’t blame the customer.

Hit or Miss. When its on, its ON. A nice break from the bar scene in Milwaukee, feels a bit like the big city nightlife I am used to. Has a semi-dance floor, but ruined by all these random seating in the middle of the bar. Make the dance floor bigger. Management definitely needs to wipe off this nasty chlorox smell that seems to pop up at this place. makes me want to gag. I dunno what kind of cleaning chemical they are using, but please switch something more pleasing to the nose. Drink prices are on par with Whiskey Bar. Crowd is also hit or miss, lots of wannabes in here, which is disappointing. However, there is also a healthy amount of young professionals who just want to party, and that is what saves oak.
