Jefferson Block Apartments

«Luxury Apartments» trumpets the cheap plastic banner adorning the top of the dated exterior. If you hadn’t guessed that these apartments were far from «luxury» by looking at the building façade, one look at the early 90’s décor in the public lobby areas will leave you without a doubt.
The interior of the actual apartment we rented did everything on the cheap. Cheap carpeting that wasn’t adequately cleaned from the prior tenants, check. Cheap vinyl leveler blinds that broke within a few months of use, check. Bottom of the barrel appliances, check. Paper thin walls that allow you to hear every peep from your neighbors, check.
The common halls are in serious need of painting and appear to reek of mold in many areas.
Hope you didn’t want a parking space because the building has far fewer spaces required for the amount of tenants there and you will pay through the nose. Outdoor parking across the street is $ 150 per month.
Traffic is horrendous during the multitude of festivals going on from Spring through Fall.
Office staff is «fake nice» but will not move an inch beyond what is convenient for them.
This place is really expensive when you consider how downscale it is. Very good place for people who have money and don’t know better.
Renter beware!

I have lived here for 2.5 years and have loved it. Ideal location and the apartment is great with lots of closet space. Property is well maintained and I cannot say enough great things about the staff in the office, especially Sara. She is very quick to respond to any emails and very pleasant to work with.

I’ve lived in a lot of really crazy, strange, chipmunk-​infested apartments. When we finally decided to move downtown a few years ago we came across JBlock. I’m so happy we chose to live here. The apartment is cleaned regularly. Maintenance staff are always around just in case you happen to have an emergency, which hasn’t happened yet (knock on wood). The management team of Andrea, Charles and Sarah are incredibly flexible, accommodating and great to work with. The rooms are pretty soundproof, unless someone is pounding on a wall. The doors and windows keep out any street noise or music from the festivals.
It’ll be a sad day when we have to pack up and leave Jblock, but we have loved every second living here. We would highly recommend it!

We love Jefferson Block. Moved here from Miami in March. We moved here sight unseen. I was transferred and had to be moved in 10 days. Worked with Andrea, Sara and Charles in the office and they are amazing. It was seemless and very professional. The building is well maintained, cleaned and pretty quiet. Face it, its apartment living, you are going to hear things through the walls. I think given the cost to rent in the 3^rd Ward, it keeps is a bit more upscale.
I would highly suggest checking out Jefferson Block. Great management team!!!
