Unfortunately, Izzy’s is closed, but has been replaced by a restaurant specializing in po’ boys.

Prices are reasonable, and food is fresh. They serve breakfast all day, which is also great. Food came quickly, and the waitress kept my coffee cup full. Also, they do carry-out, so a good option for anyone looking for breakfast on the go while they head into work. The downside was how quiet it was inside(which some people my like, but I like my weekend diners more bustling). I’m sure that is only because they are new, and I’m hopeful my next visit will have more of a crowd. Also, don’t let the location bother you.

Izzy’s is new to town. We live in a nearby neighborhood and were excited to see a business come in and renovate one of the many historic buildings in the SoHi(27th St, South of Highland) area. The owner is a chef and this is his 2nd or 3rd restaurant. He came out to our table and was very interested in feedback. We stopped in on their first Saturday and he had an experimental brunch menu. I had a cajun breakfast burrito(w/o tortilla) and the side of potatoes were awesome. My wife and daughter also loved their breakfasts. The food was all really good, well prepared and presented. The chef/owner is also well known for amazing cheesecake. He gave us a sample of his blueberry cheesecake and it was phenomenal! Give it shot! Support up and coming neighborhoods!
