Now this is a cool park if u like nature. It’s located in Riverwest right on Locust by the river. The tot lot, and splash pad are cool for kids and families. I guess people also cook out and play bocce ball here. It’s really cool if you take the trail down by the river. Just be cautious and the terrain can be a tad rough at times. There’s remains of an old structure down there too. I believe there used to be a big swimming pavillion. Walk along the river and enjoy nature

A neat park on the Beer Line trail at Locust Street. There’s a splash pad for the kiddies and a couple of soccer fields. There always seems to be families and groups of people grilling out and having fun. The parking situation seems a little small, but the street parking around the area isn’t so bad. Grab a baguette and some soft cheese and go have a picnic or something already, gosh!

Gordon Park: play bocce, soccer, touch football, catch, etc., with friends. Check families celebrating over grilled meats and potluck-type eats in the summertime. Kids love the water fountain/park thing when it’s hot out. Walk your dog, walk yourself, or kick back in an urban greenspace. It’s also a nice hop on for the Oak Leaf to North via UWM’s dorms or to the bridge over troubled water(aka over the river to those stairs that’ll take you up to Pulaski/Arlington/Brady). I like parks, and I dig this little one that’s situated on the busiest corner of my ‘hood, Riverwest.

This is a nice little park. And it’s not even that little. It has a very neighborhoody feel. You’ll see people strolling, bikes rolling, ladies laying on blankets reading to their dogs, kids playing in the big grassy field and all over the water park type thing. Tall trees line 2 of the 4 borders. And you’ll often smell a grill burning. Most of the time, I use this park to access the Oak Leaf Trail on the western side of the river. I’d probably spend a lot more time here if I had kids. During the summer I almost always see a number of families playing in the water park type things they offer. I’ve seen quite a few free community happenings for kids like a participatory art truck or some kind of music, things like that. And I often spy on weekend barbeques & picnics happening all over the grounds as I pass through. The paved trails wrap all the way around and through the park for walking and biking. There are even covered areas to keep the party going if it starts to rain. It’s a great place. You might not even notice it on the busy corner of Locust and Humboldt. But it is yet another great park in our wonderful city.

This is a great park in a great neighborhood! The splash pad in the summer is really wonderful and it’s free! My son loves playing here and the few times we’ve been it was not overly crowded. I love the racial diversity that I see at the park. It is a great representation of the diversity of MKE.

A great neighborhood park that reminds me what a wonderful and diverse neighborhood I live in. The park is consistently clean and is used for all sorts of things including picnics, barbecues, soccer games, talent shows, and even just hanging out under the trees. In the summer there is a Splash Pad(mini water park) for the kids to play in. Food not bombs offers free f lunch there on Thursdays(i think). There are several trails that lead from the park down to the river. It’s not huge or fancy, but I like it.
