I’ve only been to Float once, but plan on becoming a regular. If you’ve never tried it before, try it! I loved it. As far as the facility itself, it was great. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect at first, but the person at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming, and the rooms with the float pods in them are great — clean, laid out well. The whole experience is great and I can’t wait to float again!

I cannot even say how wonderful the entire experience at Float Mke was — it blew my mind! From my first call to the moment I walked out the door, zen and grateful, Andy was beyond helpful. The staff had thought of EVERYTHING I could possibly desire in my floating experience, and Andy took his time showing me around, explaining everything thoroughly, and assuaged any fears I was having come up around the experience. While the float itself was beautiful, you can float lots of places. I will be going back to Andy at Float Milwaukee because of the incredible customer service and attention to detail, and his commitment to quality and care. If you’ve been thinking about trying it, I recommend it 1000%!

First, the owner, Andy, is very friendly and professional. I had a scheduling conflict which caused me to cancel the day before my scheduled Float. Andy had no problem with the cancellation and immediately rescheduled the appointment. You will receive an email the day before which provides helpful information on what you need for the appointment and how to personally prepare to Float. Andy met and greeted all the 10:00 appointments on time. You will be guided into one of the rooms and given instruction on how to use the pods. The Float itself was incredibly relaxing. Like other reviews, it took me a little time to get to relax, but it was an incredible experience. If you have a high stress job or are a person who has a difficult time relaxing, I highly recommend you try a session and make your own judgment on whether this is for you. I am claustrophobic and had no issues using the pod while it was closed. Also, use the ear plugs provided to prevent the water from getting into your ears. I will return to use this amazing place.

Over all everything was fantastic and wanted to specify some things. The email they send you before is very helpful as to what to expect before your first float. The actual room was nice but the exposed pump aesthetically took a little away, but nothing to big. They walked us through how to do everything and said to expect a voice to tell you when to begin and end. Unfortunately my pod had no voice to tell me to begin and the music didn’t work until halfway through the float. I used the neck pillow provided as I didn’t wanna get water in my ears, worked great. I am a very high stressed person so I wasn’t sure if I could turn my mind off but after about ten minutes, I was totally relaxed. The salt water seemed a bit slimey but I attribute that to the high salt content. Once the float was complete I went to shower but the water did not get very hot, so I got very cold. I would suggest turning the heat up in the room before you go in the pod so you aren’t cold when you exit. Highly recommend to anyone with higher stress and looking for a way to unwind.

This was beyond amazing! It took me a little bit to get my brain off and relax… But once I did, I have never felt so weightless and relaxed. By the end of it all the little back and shoulder pains I feel on a regular basis were gone for a few hours. I was calm all day and into today still. My only issue is I still have a little water in my ear. Lol Go try it! Everyone needs this at least once in their life. Reset yourself!!!

Floating is a very cool concept and I love that they are located on Freshwater Way… how fitting! It took me some time to settle into the float but once I did it was very relaxing. It isn’t something that I would do regularly; however, twice a year it would be perfect! Here are a few things to know before you float: 1) The tanks are clean and they are filtered before every float. You shower before and after you enter. 2) No swimsuit is required… you are in your birthday suit. 3) It is saltwater so it does taste nasty and it will sting if you get it in your eyes. 4) They have some cosmetic items for after but I would recommend bringing your own if you are particular. 5) They will retrieve you if you fall asleep and don’t hear the recording to wake you up. The lights go on in the pod after the float so you don’t have to worry about being left to die in the pod :) 6) You will get used to the float and start to enjoy it after 20 – 30 minutes. 7) Some people feel invigorated but the group I went with all felt super relaxed after the float. I think that the next time I float it will be even better because I will 100% know what to expect. It is definitely worth trying out.

This was something else. My first float, and sure not to be my last. First of all, the owner guy, how cool is he?! He does a great job of talking to you about floating, answers your questions, and is just a really nice guy. When you arrive you sign some paperwork, and wait with the other floaters for the rooms to get ready. It is fun watching the previous floaters walk out, they are usually dazed and not ready for the real world post-float. But then they take you back and give you the instructions, they go over everything in great detail for us first-time floaters, which was great. The float rooms are a bit industrial actually. The pump and filter is right there for you to see, and the showers(while you pull the curtain around you as to not get water in the pod) are just right there in the corner. But anyway, you shower up and get in!(it kinda reminded me of the sleeping pods from True Blood). And you float. its soo weird at first. Like you just pop up on the surface and float for real! Getting your head to relax is the hardest part, but you’ll figure it out, i know you can. The light can stay on, but its crazy bright and i felt like i was using too many muscles to close my eyes or look at the top of the pod. so the light i turned off right away. Then i did the same for the music(which is nice relaxing spa music, but that gets old). Really, do it up right and be totally sensory void. Once i fully let myself relax it was amazing. You can’t tell where the water ends on you and what is in the air(remember, you are floating so part in part out of the water). I couldn’t tell if i had legs or arms, unless they lightly tapped the side of the pod as i was floating around, then i was like«oh, that’s my finger way over there.» Perfect meditation. Hard to really explain. Just do it. I can’t believe i was in there an hour. When the voice came on and the light came on… i was shocked. Then you shower up and head out into the real world. they provide your soaping needs so you don’t need any of that, and there is a room for you to pamper if needed afterwards(i hardly need any pampering, naturally good looking here). Few tips: –Take the little towel and hang it on the handle on the inside, in the event that you get salt water in your eyes. –Totally dry your face off first, helps with keeping salt water out –Don’t get salt water in your eyes(I didn’t, but can see how that would suck) –Go dark… and go silent(turn the lights off, and turn the music off) –Plan to relax after it(I went to Eric L’s to watch the badger game, there was too much stimulus there, while i enjoyed their company I wish I had just gone home or somewhere that wasn’t so involved… And finally, the irony of Float being on Fresh Water Way… is just too much not to close my review with.

Seriously an incredible and restorative experience. My first time floating and I will be back. Amazing new approach to self care and now that I’ve had my first float I imagine it will only continue and become more so at every visit!

Ahhhhhhhhhhmazing experience that everyone MUST try! From the moment you walk into the tranquil pod room, you start to mentally prepare for lift off. For me it truly was a journey. I was able to get outside of my mind and feel a sense of relaxation and freedom. It was like floating in outer space!!! I cannot wait to go back for another session.

Such a unique and relaxing experience! As a first time floater I was a bit nervous even though I read the entire website(more than once, I confess haha). I still wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. Andy, the owner, was super welcoming, informative and makes you feel very at ease. You’ll get a tour of the facility and a rundown of what to do, what to expect and then your off! Each float room is quite spacious and very soundproof! You are provided some towels, a robe, ear plugs, a towelette make-up remover, a floating pillow and some q-tips. You shower before getting in the pod, then turn the lights off, get in and then there is a light inside the pod that you can turn off as well so you are in complete darkness. Music is optional. For me, it took some time to «really» relax, but once you do it is so great. I loved the free feeling of not really being able to feel your body. The weightless feeling is so worth experiencing. When your float session is over it can be a bit chilly getting out. I wasn’t really expecting that! I had gotten so relaxed in the pod that getting out was kind of a brisk awakening. Once you are done you shower off, get dressed and there is a prep room where you can finish getting ready. Hair dryer, straightener and a few other misc. items are provided. Overall, really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend this place. 5 stars for Float Milwaukee :)

Whoa. Talk about relaxing! It was my first time floating anywhere, but it definitely won’t be my last! Once you arrive(15 min before appointment), you exchange you shoes for some spa scandals and sign a release form like at a well spa. Andy(owner) then takes you on a quick tour of the facility and a step by step of how things work. Once you shower prior to the float(body wash & shampoo provided), you can get right in and close the pod. There are controls to adjust the lighting and music(on/off and level). From there you just let go and relax. It takes some time to fully relax, like really really relax. But once you do — oh man you’re on cloud 9. A giant puffy cloud where you really do lose sense of your appendages. After the hour is up, the light comes on and you have about 2 – 3 minutes to get your bearings before the filtration process starts. From there you shower again, this time using the conditioner(provided). Once you’re all sparkling clean again, you can swing by the prep room to do your makeup or put contacts in(they also have hair straightener and blow dryers) before hitting the relaxation room for water/tea. What a wonderful experience. I would encourage everyone to try this experience! 100% will be back. Tip: don’t touch your face once you get in the pod, unless you’re into the whole salt water thing!
