I had the tires for my car replaced here. Friendly guys, good prices, and they will talk your ear off if you let them!

Don’t use them for anything except the most basic work and watch them like a hawk. (Had them put new tires on once and lost a hubcab about half a mile down the road). Shoddy workmanship. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile, especially when it comes to extra parts and services. This is the kind of garage that makes the new laws about letting private companies run emissions test especially worrisome, because you know they will find «something serious». Customer complaints are treated like personal insults, and get the same kind of response.

Took my car to this place for an emissions test, but one of my spark plugs fried (and my check engine light went on) making the test impossible. I asked them to give me a quote on the spark plug replacement (I have a 99 beetle). They gave me a quote of $ 370, which was really high. I found a place nearby which would do it for about half that price, and told them I was going to take it someplace else. They made me pay $ 70 as a «diagnostic» fee to get my car back. And just to be clear, there was NEVER any discussion of this fee when I asked them to give me an estimate. You have got to be kidding me. This place is a RIP_​OFF. Avoid.

I’ve taken my car to Farkas several times and I have mixed experiences. Some good and some awful. As auto shops go, I used to think they were fairly priced and I never felt like I was being swindled. Until recently.
When I took my car to Farkas a few months ago, it was to fix an overheating problem. They replaced the thermostat and did some work they thought would fix the problem. As I drove home, it began to overheat again, so I called Farkas. They came and towed it back to the shop, free of charge, and fixed the problem for good (charging me another $ 400 for more work). Unfortunately, I‘m still pretty miffed that I had to pay nearly $ 1000 for the first round of work that clearly did nothing to help.
More recently, I took it in because my service light was on and there was a shutter. Turned out to be a misfire. I was quoted $ 250 for a tune up. Although they only ended up charging me $ 188, they then said I needed a new ignition coil module. Quoted me $ 400 just for the part. I got home, found one online at an autozone for $ 199 and replaced it myself. So clearly they were trying to charge me double for the part.
They could also work on being a little more friendly. I‘m pretty surprised at how rude some of their employees are. I once called them to verify something and was treated terribly on the phone.
After so many bad visits, I won‘t be going back.
