I scheduled an appointment 10 days out for a simple stereo install. The quote was reasonable and the person I spoke to was pleasant, despite the long wait list. I received a text (of all things) about an hour before the appointment the day I was to bring the call in that said they were canceling my appointment because they have «a Mclaren» to work on and apparently couldn’t be bothered to keep my appointment, despite it likely taking them about half an hour to complete. Terrible service.

I had self-​installed an amp and headunit for my car and the wiring was not done right, so called Captain Install. The owner, Betsy, told me on the phone that it’s going to cost $ 55 per hour and it should be a quick fix. I dropped the car, and the job was done in less than two hours. However I was billed $ 145 for it (two and half hours). When I asked her about it, she replied that «Oh, we charge a fixed amount for re-​wiring, it’s not based on hours!».
An extra $ 35 is not a huge deal so I left without arguing, but the owner’s lack of clarity about the charges left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I won’t go back. The technicians were well behaved and honest, and did a good job. No complaints there.

I had a 2001 Lexus that I was only going to have a deck installed in. Well then $ 1400 later I had a whole system. And was lucky enough that they could do it that same day. Great discount on some HAT speakers and components which he still has some closeouts on them. I was sold. Fast forward to today and I drove from Watford City ND to visit some friends and booked an appointment for a system install on the RAV4. Can’t wait until it is done. I could have gotten it done in ND but why not go with a proven? All their installs are lifetime warranty.

If you need anything electric, stereo, custom or tricky… come here. We came in for a fixed up speaker and we’re leaving with alarm, new stereo, GPS tracking, updated horn and fixed the tail light.

If you’re looking for an amazing car audio and custom auto installer, look no further. Captain Install has been in the custom auto business for 15+ years and I can see why they have been in business for so long — THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!
I’d recently went to Best Buy to have a stereo put in my car, and they did the install completely wrong. I went to Captain Install and they were able to fix Best Buy’s errors as well as install my sub, amp and HID conversion kit promptly and cheaper than Best Buy quoted me.
This place does everything and you wont be disappointed. Captain install gets 6stars in my book
