BDC is a design/​build firm providing architectural design and construction contracting for all aspects of residential remodeling including whole-​house remodeling, additions (or making better use of your existing space w/​o an addition), kitchen and bath remodeling and finishing lower level spaces, etc.

We are members of the Metropolitan Builders Association, the National Association of Home Builders and the Wisconsin Builders Association. Bruce Johnson, President of BDC, was the 2010 MBA Builder of the Year, 2007 MBA President, and continues to serve on the Board of Directors of the MBA and NAHB.

History

Established in 1978.

BDC joined the MBA in 1989.

BDC was incorporated in 1993.

Business Owner

Bruce Johnson, BDC Building Design & Construction, President, attended the UWM SARUP (School of Architecture & Urban Planning) 1970 – 1974.

Bruce worked with Charles Haeuser Architects briefly during school at UWM and provided design services for and learned the «nuts and bolts» of the remodeling business from his father’s remodeling firm, Omni Enterprises starting BDC in May 1978.

Bruce joined the MBA and the Remodelers Council in 1989, served as Remodelers Council chairman for 2 years before serving the MBA as Construction Arbitration Board chair for two years and becoming involved in MBA leadership eventually serving as MBA President in 2007. In 2010 Bruce and BDC were awarded Builder of the Year from the MBA.
