History

Established in 1920.

1920 Badger Coaches began when Herman E. Meier founded the company in 1920 with $ 100 that he borrowed from his father. He bought a truck chassis and hired someone to put a coach body on it. Initially, he transported passengers from Madison to Monroe, WI, sometimes getting the passengers to help him push the bus up the steep hills. Herman builds the company for the next 48 years.

1946 The company barely survived the Depression, but came into good fortune in when it won the rights to the Madison-​to-​Milwaukee run. Badger opens the Milwaukee Badger Bus Depot which they continue to operate today.

1978 Offer clients tours and planning services on a limited basis. Company becomes one of the University of Wisconsin primary motorcoach providers.

1988 Current management team grandson’s of Herman, John, Jim & David Meier take control of the company. Their hands on approach remains the driving force behind the growing success if the company.

1995 Badger Tour and Travel is born
