I’m a regular customer of Aldi, going maybe twice a month. I appreciate the deals and the quality of their items are very good. Their produce isn’t always great only because sometimes it needs to be used within a few days. If you have never been to Aldi, there are a couple quirks about the shopping experience. Bags are not free(bring reusable or buy plastic bags at Aldi), carts are not free for the taking(bring a quarter to unlock a cart and get it back when you return the cart), and they aren’t a huge store that has everything(people who cook alot will find most of what they need, they rotate specialty items though). I’m writing a review because of the great customer service I had today. After I paid and was getting ready to leave, I accidently dropped a jar of pickles which turned my face beet red. The cashier was really nice about it and didn’t make me feel like the klutz I am, let me get a new item without paying again, and had it cleaned up within minutes. Thanks for the consistently good service at this location and this kind worker who dealt with a sticky situation very well!

Definitely better than most Pick ‘n’ Saves; it’s a lot cleaner than the one on Lyon especially. Things are pretty cheap in general and they usually have a good variety. However, when I’ve shopped here lately they’ve often been completely out of half gallons of milk, whole grain bread, onions, etc., and a few things they sell(like butter and milk) have been more expensive than the generic ones sold at Pick ‘n’ Save(at least if you have their card). Beside that, lines can be very long, but what do you expect from Aldi.

«If Aldi doesn’t sell it, we don’t eat it!» — Cathy Lisowski, a friend of ours. Nothing fancy here except decent products and very competitive prices. This is no frills grocery shopping but the savings can add up fast. Like any other food store, you have to know what you are buying. Aldi’s is a German family owned chain that also owns separately Trader Joe’s and the two couldn’t be further apart. Bring your own bags and if you must, you can«rent» a shopping cart for a «refundable» quarter. ‘Verlassen der deutscher’ or: leave it to the Germans! Customer service is almost non-existent except for the security guards and you may find but one checkout lane open despite six or more people in line. I like to say, «now you know what communism was like,» but I’m not afraid to shout out loud asking for another lane to open. It almost always works. The real secret here is all the very very cheap snacks that greet you when entering. Great tasting potato chips, cookies, crackers, popcorn, Mexican chips and so much more, all under $ 1.50 a package won us over long ago. That’s just the beginning, for just about everything you need food-wise is here but all in just one size and one brand. There are dairy, produce, frozen food, and even a small meat department along with lots of canned and household goods in a warehouse format. So bring cash or a debit card since credit cards are ‘verboten’ and come see for yourself how much you save!

Um. Hmm. I want to like this store more but, and how does one put this nicely, the fact that the fellow customers I was shopping with were complete and utter assholes will prevent me from walking in here again. Now lets start with what I liked. –Wow. If I was still eating dairy, the cheese section is where I’d be on a weekly basis. –Really great selection of healthy snacks at very fair prices. –The cashiers and employees were very pleasant! Meh, the okay stuff. –Produce was iffy at best. Some things looked already brown/moldy. –Not enough cashiers. The wait/traffic was ridic. The bad. Oh so bad. –Everyone shopping had no concept of the word manners. I saw people being unnecessarily rude to employees who were being very nice to them, I had a couple roll their eyes at my boyfriend after he left their cart too close to their cart(even after he apologized for this«travesty»), and just utter bitchiness and unpleasantness. Now, should I judge a store based on its clientele? I do believe it affected my visit as my boyfriend and I agreed we never would go back due to how uncomfortable we were inside. I’m not giving up hope on Aldi’s in general, but this particular location was a bit of a mess.

Short update as promised. Frozen lobster tails were perfect for Christmas eve dinner! I thawed and then steamed them for 7 minutes. The best lobster I have had in a long time(even counting getting the live ones!) Christmas Day we had a lamb roast that was seasoned with garlic and rosemary. Also very good. Not salty like so many pre-seasoned meats are. I have more purchases to try, but these were two big and important meals that both came out fantastic.

Gotta love ALDI. Cheap food. Good variety, especially for fresh produce. I rarely buy meat from here. They have a good selection of dairy, frozen foods and canned/jarred items. Lines for checkout at long on Saturday afternoons. They are less busy during the week.

Great place to shop for special buys. Not a full-service grocery store, but still a great place to find good-quality items at rock-bottom prices. Top picks at ALDI? Guacamole and salsa. Both are fabulous.

ALDI has a pretty decent selection at really decent prices. They carry the occasional brand name, but most of the items are ALDI private labels made by major manufacturers, and it’s really hard to tell the difference in most cases. Plus, the prices can’t be beat. I always fell like I got away with something when I walk out of there. My only complaint is that there are always long lines and few registers open, but that’s been the case at any ALDI I’ve ever been in, and maybe keeping a small staff is one way that they keep the prices low.

We have had Trader Joe’s in California for years but I’ve never been to an Aldi until i came out to Wisconsin. I didn’t know Aldi is the parent company to TJ’s. I like Aldi’s selection of beers and wines and they have this brand of chocolate called Moser Roth that’s very good for the price, great packaging, when the package is open there are 5 individually wrapped bars inside. When I come out to visit my family I stock up on a few bars. I wish Aldi would come out to California I think they would clean up.

I agree with the first review– there’s nothing«low class» about Aldi — its owned by the same company 5hat owns Trader Joe’s. I shop there all the time. They have the best raisin cinnamon bagels in the world. Their veggies are pretty cheap– their cornflakes is 99cents, Olive oil, pancake mix and syrup are really cheap. It gets really busy on the weekends– I go a couple hours before they close. You have to pay a quarter(you get your money back) to use the carts or use any of the boxes in the store if you don’t have alot to shop. I bring my own bags to bag my food. It’s worth the trouble.
