I had heard horror stories from my GFs about their experience with finding a photographer to take engagement and wedding pictures. Adam and I were super lucky to have gotten her to take our pictures. She was warm and personable from the moment she walked out of her car with her camera gears. Being camera shy, I was supremely uncomfortable but Korri made us both feel very comfortable with expert directions, encouragements and compliments when we needed it the most. She had wonderful travel stories to share which instantly put a big smile on my face. The pictures are beautiful and captures the bloom and suppleness of spring and all the laughs we had during the shoot. She took some very candid and natural pictures of us which are my favorite and now adorns one of the walls in our living room. Thank you Korri for a wonderful experience and we highly recommend her services.

Planning a wedding is overwhelming, even when you’re a low key bride. Aside from the venue(and the dress, caterer, and ceremony), who you choose as your photographer is one of the biggest decisions you will make. By pure luck, I found Korri of Photography by KLC. Really, I think it was fate, since we both went to UMass and turned out to have quite a few acquaintances in common, and we all loved working with her. There are three major considerations when thinking about a photographer for any occasion: 1. Style 2. Personality 3. Price They all have to work for you to feel like the experience of having your picture taken was a success. Happily I can say that all three came together for me when working with Korri. First, style. Korri has an artistic eye. Her style, as illustrated in her portfolio, is the first reason I was drawn to her. She won’t take just the standard shots of you and your loved ones. She looks for the most flattering lights and interesting angles. Of course, if you want the formal posed shots, she’s game. I would describe her style as creative photojournalism because she captures what’s going on in an interesting way. It rained during our outdoor reception. Really rained. We had a tent, it was lots of fun, but as my cousin put it, «Korri made the wedding look AMAZINGLY fun despite the rain!» Of course the people there were having fun, so that helped, but her(and her assistant’s shots) were full of light and joy. And she got plenty of ‘details’ shots too, so I won’t forget how awesome our gold spray painted animal centerpieces were. Personality. Whether it’s a family photo shoot or a wedding, you need to feel relaxed in front of the person taking your picture. You want to be able to trust them when they tell you how to tilt your head or angle your arm. Korri accomplished that — she’s outgoing and friendly and immediately will put you at ease. I was happy to have her around during the pre-wedding stuff and throughout the night. She could get along with anyone from kids to adults to grandparents, but also keep any ‘pushy’ guests from interfering from her ability to capture your event. Price. Korri’s prices are reasonable — definitely below many of the other photographers I looked at, but not at the bottom. She’s 2 years into her business, and as demand for her amazing services increases, I’m sure her prices will as well, so get in while you can! She included an engagement session in our package. I never knew how good my fiancé and I could look together! It was a great experience — not only for the photos we received but also because it allowed us to get to know her. Final notes: I was stressed out after the wedding, afraid the rain prevented us from getting good photos of the event. I shouldn’t have been. Sure, I don’t have a stand-in-line photo of me and my bridesmaids, but that kind of photo isn’t me.(Our venue had no pretty/interesting indoor space.) Part of me wishes Korri had been able to catch me before I was whisked away onto the bus from the church to the reception venue so we could have done some [dry] formal shots, but it wishes were horses, beggars would be unicorns. Or something. We have INCREDIBLE shots that have helped my husband, family, friends, and I remember our ‘special day’. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Korri to anyone looking for a photographer for weddings, family shots, professional pictures, or just because you want some pretty pictures. Pay her money for photos, you won’t be sorry.
