I want to give Madeline’s Bakery a stronger review by I just can’t. Madeline’s isn’t a bakery. Madeline’s is a cookie and doughnut store disguising as a bakery. I have gone in here several times. I’ve looked around and bought something because it looked delicous. But, when that something hit my mouth, I was instantly disappointed each time. I find that most of the things taste the same– sugar overload. While this may work for some, I like my baked goods to have flavor and not just a butter and sugar taste. I need more, Sweet Madeline!

Best donuts in Vermont. You have to try the maple iced donuts. Very tasty. We stop here every time we are in Milton.

This place will blow you away! A real bakery, where everything is made fresh on premises. Donuts, cupcakes, cookies, even cannolis. Prices are very reasonable. Ordered 7 doz for a client recently, the order was done on time, packaged perfectly and was a huge hit!

Don’t be turned away by the small size of this bakery! I’ve gotten an assortment of goodies there before, and have never been unimpressed. The main lady who runs the bakery is very friendly, even if you’re not a regular or she’s never met you before! I especially recommend the horse shoe cookies with chocolate on the ends. That’s the main reason I go!

The pastries were not good at all. Very disappointing. My sister had her wedding cake from there and it was disgusting. We threw out the cake and ended up having people run out to grab Ben and Jerry’s instead for the guests after people were commenting on how bad it was. Not good at all

The building is very nice and clean with an open view of the kitchen, and the owner greeted us warmly when we entered. She let us know what everything was and how much it cost. We chatted a bit, she was very pleasant. The cost was good and the pastries we bought were super delicious! There was also pies, fresh bread/rolls, cold drinks and coffee. We will be regulars there now, for sure!

Despite the typical sociopolitical indicators, I think the true mark of civilization is the presence of a great bakery. Luckily for residents of Milton, Madeleine is just that. I wish I could say I’ve tried everything so I could give a complete assessment of what makes this bakery great, but all I’ve had is their bread, cookies, cupcakes, and pie. I am pleased to report that they are all delicious. We have purchased assorted cookies to meet the dietary and taste needs of the many, and have found them all delectable. It is located behind a hardware store, so it takes some parking lot navigation to find it. If ever you find yourself in Milton, Vermont(it’s lovely!), I highly recommend swinging into this little shop for some warmth, friendliness, and baked excellence.

OK let me say at the outset, I am not a donut person. So when one of my students brought me a gift of a donut from Madeline’s, my intention was to take a bite, smile and set it aside. However, I took one bite and LOVED it. So I went there for a visit one Saturday. Instead of donuts I bought a chocolate croissant and shared it with my husband. It was plenty big for both of us. I have never bought anything here that I did not like.

Just tried this place today and the young woman working the counter was very friendly and a great salesperson. The place smells delicious, and once biting into the apple fritter, it was as if the heavens opened and I heard choral music. However, when it came to pay with my credit card, the middle-aged manager or owner, idk who she was, came over to help the young lady, and apparently needed to re-enter a bunch of stuff, which she was clearly annoyed about. I had realized I had enough cash and handed it to the young woman, but my friend only had a card and handed it to the middle-aged woman, who proceeded to say, «oh, wow,» and rolled her eyes. She was extremely rude in her demeanor. Although she was saying the right things, like«thank you» and«have a nice day», she clearly didn’t mean it. Whether it was the issue with the iPhone credit card swiper or the fact that there was a small line formed or both, it doesn’t matter. Don’t punish your customers for your mistakes. As a business woman myself, I was surprised and appalled at the unprofessional demeanor of this woman. I will try this place again, but if it happens again, my business will not be conducted there and I will spread the word.

Oh how much I love this place. I actually have to stay away because I love it so much. I go here for delicious adult birthday cakes(meaning not Hello Kitty or Batman) because I hate to see just the frosting get eaten on such a delicous through and through cake! And for the quality of cake you get the price is great. My last time in I got a 3 layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that appeared small and I was not sure if it would be adequate for the 7 people I was feeding. This was the only cake they had as late in the day as I got there, and it was one that they had made just then in order to have some in the case for the next day. That’s the thing, they are often sold out in the afternoon because IT’S SOGOOD! Anyway, the woman helping me was so great, she offered me this cake, and said they would frost it and write on it for me(which took moments) and when I brought it home it turned out that it was more than enough. It is not airy fairy cake. The frosting is the same kind they use in their delicious donuts. The cake cost I believe $ 16. That brings me to the donuts. My favorite are the frosting filled ones. Again, I have to keep away from this place or I would weigh 300 lb! But a wonderful treat on weekend mornings! I do wish they had more homemade bread items. I have bought their bread before but it reminds me of the kind you buy frozen and throw in the oven so the house smells good. I could be wrong, but it doesn’t have that artisan quality to it. Then again, I don’t think bread is really their thing right now. We have also tried the cupcakes, which are the one thing that seems a little overpriced to me, the cookies are yummy and I always buy my husband a mouse truffle on his birthday as a cake topper. I highly recommend this bakery for all your bakery needs!

Erica made my wedding cake and it was everything I asked for. The cake was delicious and beautifully done. I would recommend her wedding cakes whole hearltedly. Erica was accommodating and very professional. She scheduled a tasing(which was my husbands favorite part of the wedding planning) and she was able to work with me on all the nitpicky details I had. The bakery food is delicous but most importantly for the Brides out there… Madelines was amazing!!!

When I feel like getting some baked sweets and wanting something more local than Dunkin donuts, I’ll come here. Come in early morning when everything is fresh and warm, it’s the only time I’ll go, if I’m just planning on getting cinnamon rolls. I know they throw out the day old cinnamon rolls, I’m not sure if they throw out other day old products tho! Go to Apollo for lunch and come here for dessert, which I’ve done on multiple occasions, even tho I’m so stuffed its hard to pick out cookies for later! Also they have samples on occasion, so make sure to check that out before you make your baked goods selection!

Madeline’s is a great bakery located in Milton in the same area as the Apollo Diner and Ace Hardware store on Route 7. Everything here is amazingly delicious and fresh. You’ll find cookies, donuts, pastries, cakes, and even baklava. You can custom order cakes for any occasion too.

I just have a minute before I have to give up this computer so I will be brief. This place is hard to get to from the street for the first time. It’s in the same parking lot as Apollo Diner. Ace Hardware. Baked goods are EXCELLENT, FRESH, CREATIVE, FABULOUS. If you don’t see it at first, TRYHARDER! It’s totally worth it. Hurry though… they don’t seem to have anybody helping w/promoting or pr. They are good enough to be busy all of the time and run out of everything every day! Have a donut! The donuts are AMAZING! Trust me.
