Definitely worth the trip! Four free tastings and tour along with beer infused brats for purchase!!!

I had the most awesomeness time ever going to DFH on my birthday. They truly made my day even more super special.

Overall: The perfect example of a great great brewery experience and tour.
The good: What can you say? Their beer is phenomenal as you should already know going in. Free samples? Awesome. You could come and leave without paying a dime, but I doubt you will. Plenty of beers to choose from. The food truck, while limited, tastes great. The tour is straight up awesome. Very friendly staff throughout.
The bad: Not many food choices. Just the bare minimum food truck (but it’s delicious!). Gift shop gets pricey.

5 stars for everything about this place. The staff is extremely friendly. The place is super clean. The beer is amazing. Took a tour there and I believe Jamie was our tour guide. She was beyond great. Very nice and told us so much about the brewery. This was my first tour at a brewery and it was great. Would definitely recommend this place and come back. If you want good beer, a great atmosphere, and some cool art to look at. This is the place.

Ummmm, Dogfish Head Brewery is a little much. I will point out that I visited on a rainy day in mid-​summer, so probably a pretty busy day for them with all the disappointed beach-​goers. It was packed, and our trip was mostly waiting — waiting in line for food, waiting for our tour time, waiting for the bocce balll courts to clear, waiting in line for a beer voucher (I actually gave up and just bought a pint rather than have the free sample flights)
And, well, I don’t really like Dogfish Head beer — in my opinion, they could have stayed closer to the center for some of their beers. They are a little too proud of how weird they are, as if being weird is special in-​and-​of itself — it’s only a good thing if you use it creatively, and, well, we can debate if they did.
Going to South America to import the densest wood in the world for some of their barrels? Um, OK? Building a steampunk tree fort that no one can go inside? I guess? Making everyone wear Crocs on the brewery tour instead of flip flops? Questionable? Putting small, framed art on the ceiling? Sure. Hopping beers continually for various amounts of time? You do you, Dogfish!
So unless you’re a beer nerd, just visit the restaurant in Rehoboth — the food is way better there (just a few bratwurst options at the brewery), and the seasonal beers are all on tap. If you ARE a beer nerd, more power to ya — enjoy!

The experience was worth coming for. I was staying in Rehoboth for the weekend after a work trip. I decided to go check out some really good craft beer. I love Dogfish Head… actually, I love craft beer. This is one of them. When I realized I’d be in the area of the brewery I knew I had to come.
I got here at the open of business and was glad I did. I was in the first tour and by the way they are free. They also gave us four free tastings. When I got back the tasting room was packed and the tours were booked out by at least a couple of hours.
Our tour guid was personable and took the time to give us an intimate experience. The grounds are cast and pretty well kept. The only thing I felt was a bit sketch was that if you wore open toed shoes you had to put on crocks. Now these crocks were used and not disinfected between use as I came to find out by returning mine only so someone could put them on directly. Same thing went with the eyewear. So, my suggestion to you is to bring your own!

The gold standard for east coast breweries. No one does it better. Staying true to the 4 free sampling is an awesome show of goodwill.
They could afford to get another food truck or vendor in there as it’s pretty limited as far as eats, and there isn’t much else around to grab a bite. The tour is incredible, but a lengthy amount of time to go beer-​less while at a brewery.
In all — a must visit for anyone in the northeast and mid-​Atlantic. Camp at Cape Henlopen and catch some live music in Dewey to make a weekend out of it.

This is without a doubt the best brewery I have ever visited.
Just for showing up you get 4 free samples. Two must be the 60 minute IPA and the Namaste, but the other 2 are up to you — no restrictions. Of course you can buy 10 oz pours on top of that, or take growlers of certain beers home. There is even a spruced up birch beer for non-​alcoholic consumption, and its great!
A word of advice for the tour — get there early! We arrived on a Saturday an hour after they opened and the wait time was 2 hours and 30 minutes. The wait was worth it though; we saw just about every facility on the grounds and learned a lot about the history, and future plans, of the brewery.
To help pass the time there is corn hole, bocce ball, and a gift shop. There is also a food truck with food options that pair tremendously well with Dogfish Head beer.
If you like the beer Dogfish Head has to offer, then it is a no-​brainer to come out to the brewery.

One of the best breweries I have ever been to. Fist off the environment is awesome, the tour guides/​bartenders are always cracking jokes, and are very friendly. The whole place looks cool and they have an awesome sculpture they bought for 1 dollar from a burning man festival. Everyone hangs outside and is playing bocci ball or cornhole, or just hanging out. The tour is free and includes 4 tastings, and you can refill any of their beers for 2 bucks. The tour was great, and very educating They create electricity from bugs that eat waste water, which they re use for cleaning, and then the bugs poop out gas which they burn and create electricity supplying the, with 40 percent of their electricity for the plant. They have really created a beer company that puts out high quality craft beer. OFFCENTERED ALES FOR OFFCENTERED PEOPLE!!!

My family and I arrived about an hour early for the next available brewery tour, so we checked out their food truck Bunyan’s Lunchbox outside. The Greek Feta brats were so good, I actually bought a few packages from the gift store to bring back to New York. We also received a tasting ticket, so we were able to sample several different beers at their bar. Determined that the 90-​minute IPA was my favorite! Our tour guide was very thorough and informative, throwing in lots of fun facts and covering their unique history and brewing process. Whether you’re a fan of craft beer or not, this is worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Visited this brewery and «Saved the best at last» for our Delaware weekend getaway.
1. Lunch/​snack being sold is in a rolling truck type.
Although it is cute, creative and commonly how it should be in a place like this, thinking they should somehow has a mini-​restaurant inside for big eater like me and for the little children of the beer fan parents who went. Food was delicious though, beer infused sausage, chowder and pickles can’t be beaten. Tables are provided inside the air conditioned building and water fountain is available if doesnt feel like drinking beer with your sausage.
2. Tour was so boring.
The brewery is amazingly big, with impressive technology and well maintained its cleanliness all throughout the compound … but they should make the tour a little more interesting. What am I complaining about, it was free and we were never asked to give a tip to the tour guide.
3. Beer tasting/​sampling process is organized.
Get a card before going to the bar, each time a sample on the list you created has been served, the bartender is crossing it out. You are allowed to sample up to 4 kind.
4. The Store is selling so much branded items. Pricey but if you are a fan, it is worth it. Luckily, my husband got a t-​shirt on sale for $ 15. Of course, beer in pack, in bottle, in case etc are available for puchase. Just pick what’s best for you. Beer tasting makes sense then. And oh, they sell beer infused sausage too. :)
5. The outside ground is a haven for the children. What else can they do there anyway?

I came here with some friends on a visit to Delaware over the 4^th of July weekend. Two thumbs up for the free tasting and tour. My favorite was the Midas Touch and I absolutely loved the Bunyan’s Lunchbox outside. Beer infused brats, sauerkraut and pickles? Yes, please! I got the Greek feta brat and it was delicious. Gutted that my flight home is too long to take some to go! I did buy a jar of the pickles, though, and would love to visit the tasting room next time I’m back in the area!
Warning — if you do not want to wear crocs on the tour, wear closed toed shoes!

A must-​see if you’re in the Rehobeth/​Ocean City area! Even if you aren’t a big craft beer lover, seeing this brewery and hearing the story about how Dogfish Head started and began the craft beer craze is super interesting. The brewery tour is FREE and family friendly. Adults get 4 free beer samples. And full pints of whatever beer you like are only $ 6.
My family arrived right at 11am for opening. There were a lot of people already there ahead of us, so we weren’t able to get on a tour until 12:45…but when there’s free beer, who cares?! I have to say I actually think I liked having the time to kill before the tour, because I’m not sure if we would have been as likely to stay so long if we’d gotten on the tour right at 11am. There’s also outdoor games to kill time, but it was about 90 degrees the day we went, so we stayed in the a/​c. If you get hungry, they have a little food hut that served their beer infused sausages. They’re delicious.
The tour is about an hour long. Wear close-​toed shoes! If you don’t, they do have Crocs available for you to borrow, but it’s not like the sterilize them or anything after each wear. Also know that if it’s a hot day, there are parts of the brewery that get very warm. This might be uncomfortable for really young kids. Dogfish Head provides water for you to take on the tour though, so don’t worry about dehydration. No beer on the actual tour though. :p
Our tour guide was John. He was excellent! He was a great storyteller and very happy to answer all the questions anyone has throughout the tour. I’m pretty sure on our tour 90% of the questions asked were by my Dad… haha.
Can’t wait to come back next year to see the addition of the distillery!

Driving up to the brewery, one cannot help but wonder what Dogfish Head is doing in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Seriously — the place is flanked on all sides by townhouses and a school. Maybe I need to reconsider my next move…
The tour itself is great, albeit a bit long. If you’re not interested in touring, the tasting area has a good number of beers on tap which should keep you busy. The gift shop is also pretty great (and you’re allowed to bring your beer in), and offers some great pricing on cases of beer.
Note: open toed shoes are required for the tour. They do have Crocs you can borrow but if you prefer the comfort of your own footwear, do take note.

Awesome, relaxing and family-​friendly brewery tour with four free samples of beer per adult! The tour guide was really knowledgeable.
We enjoyed the indulgent hot dog with the pork sausage and also the chicken with feta one.
There is a free private parking.

By far, Dogfish has the best brewery tour and tasting room. You have to get tickets in advanced, but it’s free and you get 4 free tastings at the tasting room. The tour is about 30 – 45 minutes and it’s actually interesting to see how they make all their delicious beer. The employees there are so friendly and very knowledgeable. We’ve been there twice and love it!

I just had the longest beer tour of my life here! Haha. It was nice though, since he showed us several rooms, we walked outside and he answered all our questions! Anyways, I would say this was about an 80 min tour. But, this place is super popular, so come early to sign up! We came at 1pm and couldn’t get a slot until 3pm. But, they do let you sample 4 beers each at the bar, which is always nice. Annnd it’s all free!
Another HUGE pro is that this place is dog friendly. That’s right, you can have your dog chill at the bar with you, indoors! Gotta love that: D. Oh, but no dogs on the tour –_–

This place is unique. The décor adds to your unique experience. There is a free beer tasting. They also offer a free brewery tour.
There is a open pit grill right in the front where they grill their bratwursts. Their bratwurst are juicy and only $ 5!!! There is a photo booth. This place is worth your time.
The history of this place adds value to the experience as well.

The last time I visited Dogfish Head Brewery was in the summer of 2012… man, they weren’t kidding when they told us there would be a huge upgrade by the time we returned. It now boasts a very large expansion in brewing capabilities, a new warehouse on the premises, a food truck and the ability to purchases full glasses of beer to drink at the brewery bar (you can still get 4 free 3 oz tastings, too).
The tour is still free but you no longer can reserve your spot online in advance. Instead, it is first come, first serve. If a tour fills up, the schedulers will advise when the next available tour is. We showed up at 1 pm and initially signed up for the 3 pm tour. The beer gods must have smiled upon us because we were bumped up to the 2 pm tour (thanks, no-​shows)! The tour lasts a little over an hour and is really fantastic. not gonna lie, I got a little misty-​eyed over how well the brewery is doing.
The food truck, Bunyan’s Lunchbox, is a welcome addition to the brewery, specializing in beer-​infused sausages and a hard-​tack chowder with Palo Santo Marron (my favorite DFH beer). Yum!!!
You really can’t leave without some fresh threads to show your brewery loyalty. oh, and a case of 120-​minute IPA… go ahead, live a little.
Had a fantastic time and I’d love to stay longer on my next visit!

Simply put, this place is heaven.
I have been to many a brewery in my day, I even lived in a town out West known for it’s breweries, but Dogfish Head tops them all. A short drive from Rehobeth Beach, visiting Dogfish Head is a perfect rainy day activity, or sunny day activity, or foggy day activity, or winter day activity, or Summer day activity, fall day activity, or spring day activity. What I’m trying to say here is anytime is a good time to visit dogfish head.
I managed to come here on a perfect day. It was a slightly cooler rainy day and the place was overrun by bocce players in costumes. It made for great people watching but it also made the place quite crowded. The brewery itself is quite huge, looks more like a factory. Out front you will find Bocce courts, corn hole games and a giant metallic «steampunk» treehouse thing which is apparently from Burning Man.
They no longer take reservations but rather the tours are first come first serve every 30 minutes. You are offered four free samples with your tour. Basically you look over your choices of close to 15 beers on tap and write down your selections on your little piece of shark paper. What was awesome about the samples is that the dogfish head brewery staff actually pick which beers will go better in a sequence. Much like wine tasting, rather than go sequentially down your list of selections, they pick the beers from lightest to darkest.
As for how the selection goes you’ll find the classic brews that Dogfish is known for such as their 60 minute or 90 minute IPAs. And then you’ll find some rare gems on this particular day I kind of fell in love with the Miles Davis Bitches Brew. A dark stout that smells like coffee beans and tastes rich, honey and dark fruit flavors. They also have a great deal of beers like Noble Rot that combine wine and beer, and manage to be tasty.
If you get hungry, or buzzed off of four samples of high ABV content beer, there’s a food truck on premises (Lunchbox) that offers brats, chowder, and pickles. Go with the Greek dog and avoid the pickles and the chowder, although they sound good on the menu that are way too beer drenched in flavor.
On your way out stop by the gift store to get some of your favorite beers tax-​free. I am a big fan of the T-​shirts they sell here especially for women. Also remember this place is closed on Sundays and you’re not allowed to drink what you ordered in your your growler on premises because they will kick you out, which unfortunate because the growler fills are a great deal.
