Target Masters

This is a good place to release stress, the staff is nice and explain very carefully what i wasn’t sure after watching training video. The price was affordable (and depend on the gun you picked) and my group were all happy to pay after recieve a good service

Great place for first timers, and for regulars.
Today was my first time shooting, and the experience couldn’t have been better. The prices were appropriate, and the staff there were superb! The ladies working there were so polite. Although this place is about an hour drive from where i live, i will definitely be coming back in the near future.

I went to Target Master way back (when Bill’s dad was running the shop) — things had turn south since Bill running the shopping 12 years ago and is getting worst by the day.
Staff: none of them is knowledgeable and they like to give you their personal opinion (instead of quoting the law) — turnover rate of the front staff usually last a few weeks. Don’t ask any gun law question — 90% is FUD or up right wrong.
Price of gun: price is decent but not worth the time to do the extra, extra paperwork that mandate by the store. Assuming there is no customer in the store — the minimum time to complete the transition will be 1 hour or longer. I asked them many times why you need the additional stuff, which was not required by CA DOJ — answer: «we just want to do it to cover our ass» end quote. Absolutely not worth that 2% saving vs. the extra paperwork. Same headache for PPT — go to Reeds or Irvington Arm — much faster!
Range: stalls are all beat up, insufficient lighting and the ventilation is not good (or none existence).
They are the only indoor range that open till midnight — which sometimes (or many times) attract a very different kind of clienteles (you can use your imagination).
Avoid this place at all cost: bad customer service, bad (or wrong) information, bad facilities, bad business process — what else you need?!

This is my go to target range. I usually go on the weekend which tends to be really business but they do a good job getting to everyone quickly. The only thing I don’t like about this place is there shooting lanes are small and there is no place to put your firearm.

Me and a few buddies from work came here with out girls, and we had a blast.
Just know that you are not allowed to rent a gun if you come in alone, you have to have a person with you. Also if you guys are first timers you will have to watch a ¹⁵⁄₂₀ minute safety video before you are allowed to rent a firearm. You will be briefly quizzed so pay attention.
We got here at like 8:00PM and stayed until 11:30PM so yeah, we had a blast, I will definitely be coming back here again, it was great and the staff is helpful and informative. Loved this place.

They are severely understaffed especially if you are trying to buy a gun. I had to wait two hours to finalize a purchase. The guy was very knowledgeable though.

I’ve been to target masters a few times. Never really been impressed it’s just always been a gun range that will do. Tonight however, I was thoroughly displeased with their service.
I wanted to take my handgun fsc test again as my card had expired sometime ago. I got there and the place was packed, which was understandable to me. It’s still holiday season time, plenty of people are on vacation and some of them may have even received new gifts they want to try out at the range. I poked around the store for a bit looking at what they have for sale. After awhile I headed up to the front counter to ask about the test.
I waited a good 15 – 20 mins just standing there while other people came up and got helped ahead of me. Finally, Casey (who was the only pleasant staff member there tonight) helped answer my question about who to get the test from at the store. He then told me I need to be more rude so that I don’t stand there waiting so long next time. Thanks… I think?
The other staff members I dealt with tonight were all very unpleasant. None of them would’ve given you the time of day if they weren’t being paid to do so. All too busy or not interested to help the customer.
I guess I will be more than happy to take my business down the road to Reeds gun range. A little farther and maybe a little pricier but, I’m willing to pay a little extra for professional, courteous staff and a cleaner, better maintained facility.

Went to Target Masters on a Friday at 7pm and it wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be. We parked right in the front and there was plenty of street parking available. There was a good selection of firearms for rental, the lanes were functioning (solid pulleys, target clips), and reasonably priced accessories.
What makes me want to come back is the excellent staff that was very friendly and welcoming. I would visit more often if I was a local, but the staff made some recommendations for other ranges/​clubs in my area (Napa). Overall, it was a great experience.

This place is alright. They almost always place me next to newbies when there are clearly open lanes elsewhere. Those noobs either shooting the ceiling and/​or the ground. I’ve seen it all. Even had a bullet ricochet back at me from the idiot next to me. Not coming back to this lame spot.
Go at the right time and you’ll have a much better experience.

After trying out most of the shooting ranges in my area, I had the chance to check out the range at Target Masters in Milpitas.
Pros: the store had a ton a firearm selections from pistols to long guns, at a fairly decent price. The range had three different suites with 17 total shooting lanes. The shooting Fee is also decent rated at $ 14-​$ 15 an hour. Also, the range is open till 11pm on most days which is pretty cool. It seems like this is the go to spot in the South Bay Area!
Cons: no head shots. I honestly don’t understand why there is a limitation on where you can shoot on the target. I practice to get better and that restriction is simply not in my books.
Overall, it’s an ok place to shoot. I’ll probably come back just to see if there rules were changed and you can make head shots.

I normally go in the mornings words $ 8 if you have your own firearm. Also love going around happy hour where everything is half off I would rate this higher but the only real negative thing about this location some of the guns need to be better maintenance I understand that they do have a large selection and they can clean everything but also the prices are a little bit high for example override go at CSS M&P shield is $ 400
Here there $ 450
Also Bersa firestorms 380 is $ 260 where I go targets master sell them for I Believe $ 320 now I understand the bear is a little more expensive in the cost is going to be higher but overall it’s a good location to get before 4.5

First time visit today, bring a friend to show him shooting sports, gun rental, staffs are friendly and professional, polite and helpful. This gun shop is the best!!! The gun shop could use some marketing help to promote the business and little bit warm lighting would help for improve cozy feeling, lady shooter (especially new) will feel comfortable to shoot here. I would like to give free advise if the owner see this review. I really like this shop and want it better.

Thought this was gonna be something like Call of Duty minus shooting other people and throwing grenades and all that good stuff. I was super excited about the whole experience, but right when I walked in, I felt scared/​nervous as I saw all these different types of guns everywhere.
This wasn’t a video game — I was actually going to be holding a real, loaded weapon. I felt myself feeling like I wanted to back out, but I kept telling myself that I should experience this at least once in my life.
They recommended that first timers attend a class where they teach you how to use a gun, but we were just like nahhhhh we got this… but not really… kinda. We had to watch a ten minute safety video with instructions on how to use the guns. It was a lot of information to take in and because I was just thinking of all the worst case scenarios, none of it really stuck with me. After, we had to meet with the person over the counter and got quizzed on important information we should have known after watching the video. A little slow on answering the questions, but we were able to get past the quiz. At this point, I still wasn’t ready to trust myself with the gun lol.
We got to choose between a shotgun and a rifle and of course we chose the rifle because it looked pretty badass. Plus, the guy over the counter said it had less of a recoil.
I really didn’t know what to expect to be honest. I was just panicking in my head the whole time thinking that I might do something wrong. We were given earmuffs (idk what they’re called) and glasses to protect us. I unfortunately didn’t wear my contacts when I went, so I had to wear two pairs of glasses.
The anticipation/​anxiety you have before shooting your first bullet is probably the scariest part. I didn’t know how strong the gun’s recoil would be. All I kept thinking about was what happened to Kevin Hart in Ride Along where he flew back after taking his first shot. But it was NOTHING like that, thank god, haha. I got more comfortable as I took more shots and was even able to get two shots in the middle! I actually really enjoyed the experience. Once you take the first shot, everything gets easier from there!
I would definitely go again!

A cooooooooool first shooting experience. Gun shop with lots of guns and a shooting range on the side. Was told to watch a tutorial video there and quizzed on it right after. The cashier guy taught me the basics on the rules and how to load and shoot the gun. I was able to choose from an assortment of handguns and rifles but I ended up choosing the m4a1 looking rifle in which I felt like it was call of duty in real life. It was like an average of $ 20 per person for a hour with all the rentals which isn’t bad. Had 100 rounds each. The experience was very smooth and didn’t have any downside to it. Would probably come again to try out other guns but it’s definitely coooooool if you havent tried shooting before. bang bang!

This was my first time to a range since my time in the military. My wife and I took the safety class together since she has never even held a gun before. Paul, the instructor, was very knowledgeable and courteous. After the class, my wife and I entered the range to shoot off a few rounds. Paul noticed her sitting outside of the range very nervous. He suggested we go to another bay to shoot where there was no one shooting next to us and it was alot quieter. I really appreciate how considerate he was to my wife’s nervousness and went out of his way to make her comfortable. Aside from that, they have a great variety of firearms to choose from for rentals and gun prices aren’t bad either. I will definitely be making the trip to Milpitas from Antioch from now on for my shooting fix.

I’ve never been to a gun range. And this was a really good experience. My bf brought his 22LR pistol. My gf & I shot it after he taught us how to use it. It really wasn’t that difficult.
The facility was really nice and the employees were very helpful. There were a lot of weapons for sale and there were many lanes for shooting– about 17. And it ended up only costing $ 14 for 2 hours and there were 3 of us. We brought our own bullets, ear plugs and eye protection.
I learned a lot about firearm safety. And now I feel comfortable shooting a firearm in self defense or at a shooting range. I know I’ll definitely back.

I suggested to go shooting with my dad and his friend and his son and Target Masters was the nearest one in our area.
Parking was difficult to find so we just parked on the street. The parking lot didn’t have a lot of spaces so take that into account.
Inside the establishment, it was average size. What I really liked about this range was its emphasis on safety. If you’re a first time shooter, you’re required to watch a video and you get tested by an employee. They also offered free classes Monday’s 7−9pm so check that out!
After finishing the video, you’re required to fill out some paperwork. Ugh I personally hated the paperwork. Once you fill it all out you tell them what you needed like eye & ear protection, targets, ammo, rental, etc. I had my own gun so I was set.
Downside was that the range was $ 14/​hr and an extra $ 6 per person on that lane which was bullshh. I thought it was one of the most expensive ranges I’ve been to but whatever.
Overall I had a decent experience. I thought it was weird that they make it a rule for no head shots.

This place was fun. I came here with a group of friends just to look but we ended up playing too. It was scary when I walked in there because I have never been to such place but this place was not as intriguing as other ones. Friendly staff, very patient!

Great place for any beginners, intermediate and advanced shooters! Been here twice. Once for my birthday two years ago when my girlfriend took me. I wasn’t 21 yet so I only got to shoot the shotgun and .22 rifle.
Don’t get me wrong. my first experience was FRIGGIN AWESOMEEE. Having so much POWER in your hand, it’s kind of crazy. The shotgun had alot of kick to it and ended up leaving a bruise on my shoulder. hahah (even for a guy with some muscles)
Second time I went was about a week ago when I was dyingggg to try out a handgun. OMG it’s so much more fun than a shotgun or rifle. First I tried out the Beretta since they didn’t let beginners go above a certain calibur. Went through 50 rounds between me and a friend but that DEFINITELY was not enough. Not while the adrenaline was still rushin through my veins…
So we made an impulsive move (a good one) and decided to rent out the springfield 1911 (a $ 1600 gun). WOOOOOO. I fell in love with this gun. I honestly have no words to describe this experience. So much kick and power, but my aim was pretty accurate ;)
Between two people for about 100 rounds total, two rental guns, four different targets, and a shooting lane came out to about $ 100 which is not a bad price at all. I thought we were going to spend only 20 mins in there running through the bullets like crazy but it was a good hour! (almost hour and a half)
Cant wait to go back and test out other guns!
Make sure you bring a friend with you though if you don’t have a licensed gun! they have to make sure that you are sane and not a crazy person trying to rent out a gun!

Great place to test out a few handguns with a wide variety to choose from. Staff is a hit or miss when renting lanes and handguns, but for the most part they can get you in and ready to go.
Big plus is that they are open until midnight with the gun shop open til 10pm. Plenty of time to get in the range and let loose or make a purchase. I have tried both their range and purchased my first handgun. The staff is fairly knowledgable with a pretty loose attitude. Not too judge mental and most of the staff is pretty thorough.
I was helped by Corey who was patient with my choices as I handled both the Springfield XD and Glock. In all I was very pleased and the paperwork seemed seamless and easy. The range itself is a tight squeeze but has all the essentials needed for practice.
