Sheraton San Jose Hotel

We planned a quick weekend trip to the Bay Area to see family and found a great deal on this hotel last minute. We were traveling with our 20 month old and dog and it was one of the more reasonably priced, pet friendly hotels in the area.
The check in was quick and staff was friendly. Our room was large and nicely upgraded.
We had a king size bed and our room overlooked the pool and waterfall. Great hotel and we will definitely stay there again.

We had our company Xmas party here. The service was good and the (event) room was nicely decorated. Minor issue, but the dance floor is a little small.

The hotel allows pot smoking… and exposes its to guest and children they do nothing about it!
Drinking allowed in the hall ways. and out doors!
Security is oblivious and will not hesitate to call the police on you if he doesn’t like you.!!
Be careful if you stay here they will spoil your night if your just having a conversation in your room. They will call the police.
This had to be worst experience ever!

Came up for business a couple of weeks ago. Rooms we’re very clean the staff was very friendly and helpful everything is nearby. Will definitely book with them again

I’ve stayed here for many months for work. I’ve stayed at many other SPG properties in the area, and I do favor this hotel for its location, spacious free parking, and welcoming staff. Sheraton is located a mile from Great Mall and also next to Milpitas Square, where a lot of delicious Asian restaurants and supermarket are. It is easy to get in and out with a car with free parking and quick access to the freeway. The hotel is a quick drive to the airport, and they also offer complimentary airport shuttle. For those frequent business travelers, you can leave your bags upon check out and pick up upon the next check in. There is free wifi for SPG members and free water in the rooms.
The staff have always been very welcoming. Joy, at the front desk, remembered my name and preferences well so checking in with her was always very smooth and quick. She is fun to talk to and welcoming, so I always look forward to seeing her when I check in.
There has been many renovations at the hotel in progress, and the newly renovated rooms are nice! As a platinum, I’ve gotten suite upgrades maybe 70% of the time. The club lounge is a perk with coffee, apple juice, water, soda, granola bars, fruits on the counter. There are also some couches and a computer and printer available. In the morning, there are some simple breakfast items offered here.
The swimming pool is pretty big and although I’ve never been, it’s a nice scenic oasis from the window. Gym is small but had equipment in good condition and chilled towels in the fridge.
Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my experience here and highly recommend.

Excellent service from the time i checked in (Joy) is such a sweet lady. Spoke to her many times always sweet and helpful. Our room was one of the newly renovated suites. It was perfect. The one and only complaint I have was there was a hair in coffee pot and husband got grossed out. Other than that a great stay. Thank you Sheraton for making this stay one to remember. You will always have me as a returning guest.

Horrible! I checked in the hotel near midnight on Saturday Aug 08, 2015. To our surprise, the 2 bed room we reserved was not available. The graveyard shift manager Michael said they overbook all the 2 beds. I exclusively reserved 2 beds because I have my kids with me. I even paid extra money for that. «Well, there is not guaranty» said Michael, basically laugh at my face and said, «that’s what happens when you go through a third party». The room was paid for in advanced to take advantage of the extra discount. Well, Michael refused to give us a refund. I called
and
called them and there was nothing that they could do until Monday said Michael. He is not authorized to give us a refund. I have to drive back home from San Jose to Sacramento as I couldn’t find any other hotels that late at night and frankly I was so upset that I didn’t want to deal with hotels any more. I got home at 3:00 AM. Continue to fight this misery for two more days Monday and Tuesday and eventually
return portion of my money stating that The Sheraton continue to refused the refund and so
will give me a compensation out of their pocket.

Great service, but having to pay for wifi in Silicon Valley is so early 2000’s! My room was $ 349 a night and no free wifi. Crazy! Also the bed was horrible. Had to see my chiropractor when I got back home.
Two thumbs up for a great gym!

We stayed here 2 weeks ago. We were in town for one night for a concert. I was very apprehensive about staying here after a horrible experience at a different location. Upon arrival the parking lot was packed. We made it inside and the front desk was nice and helpful. She made sure we had everything we had requested when booking including late check out. She informed us she couldn’t promise anything after noon but to call in the morning and she would see what else she could do. (We ended up not needing the later check out) We were in a suite with a separate sitting room, 2 TVs, bathroom had awesome shelves so my poor boyfriend actually had counter space for once, the bed was comfy, room was clean, and decent location. Downside is there is not much in the way of walking for food, and the bistro at the hotel was pricey.
Overall a good quick stay.

I give this hotel 5 stars cause my family likes to rest & lay their heads here when we are in San Jose, I like to use their gym a lot because it’s open 24 hrs and they have the equipment that I need. They do have a very comfortable pool side set up, the rooms are very comfy, clean and spacious-​except I think the suite is slightly more well kept than the cabana side. I don’t like that the wifi is not free, that really gets in the way some but oh well I get lte & the room service and breakfast is really expensive, trust me it’s non convenient when you are traveling with kids.

This place is newish so it’s laid out nicer than old architecture. It has nice rooms, it’s clean the service is great and it’s even quite! It’s great for a short stay my friends who came into town affirmed. It’s close to both a giant asian food mall and the airport and like i must reiterate is well planned out. I would stay here if needed in the area and yes, do recommend.

My parents stayed here a few nights when they came out to visit this past summer. They reserved an amazing suite-​style room that was very clean, with a gorgeous view of the pool area. The setup was 2 joined rooms: 1 with 2 beds and a bathroom, and the other with a living/​kitchen/​dining area. We really liked this hotel!!! It was by far the nicest hotel they stayed that weekend (others were in SF and Santa Cruz) and it was also the least expensive!
The pool area is quite large and the pool itself is heated! There are several chairs to lay in, a large grass area, and towels are provided.
I didn’t have any interaction with the staff but my parents commented on how friendly and nice the front desk was. We would gladly return to this Sheraton location!

We stayed here between a concert at Shoreline and a trip to Levi’s Stadium the next day. This hotel is perfectly located and easy to get on/​off the freeway. The 24hr minimart with a Subway a block away is also perfect when getting back after midnight and needing a quick bite.
The hotel is clean and spacious. Even though our 8^th floor room faced the freeway we weren’t bothered by any noise. The bed was the usual comfy sheraton bed. The room was huge with a nice desk that served as a dining table as well. The bathroom was spotless and stocked with the necessary toiletries.
We didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it looked great. The courtyard reminded me of a much higher end resort feel with the fountains and tropical landscaping.
We’ll definitely be back to this hotel anytime we need a night away in the San Jose area.

This Sheraton is very bare bones. The perks for Platinum customers are pretty weak, including no real upgrades and a very basic, limited-​offering club lounge. Yet, it’s routinely sold out during the week because it’s the only Starwood property near a bunch of big tech companies. This means there’s no real incentive to invest in improving the property.
Also, I ordered room service and said it needed to be gluten-​free, but then I felt really sick afterward. I called back and they double checked and discovered that the fish had been marinated in soy sauce. I complained and the manager comped the meal and gave me 2,500 Starpoints. My team laughed, saying, «So that’s the going rate for food poisoning?» Yes, apparently it is.

I wanted to say that they now allow u to select internet for a week instead of it deactivating every 24hrs. But the Internet is still dialUp speed (or worse), that is if it is not keep going off every 10 – 15 mins and turning back on 20 mins later (repeat pattern endlessly over the evening).
It cannot be that expensive to get a dedicated internet, especially when u charge ur guests a lot for internet (and room). Its worth it!
If it was not for the amazing staff and cleanliness, i would not be staying here every week.

Adequate business hotel.
Stayed at the traditional room with king bed for 3 nights. Room was clean, bed was comfy, and bathroom was spacious. I do like Sheraton’s bed a lot and always had a good sleep.
Two things I did like about this Sheraton: really friendly service and the bigger than average gym.
Few things did bother me though. First, there’s no in-​room safe. I do like to store certain things just to have a peace of mind, but ended up taking all with me. The work desk in the room is set up right in front of the AC unit, which was annoying when it was blowing cold air, so I ended up shuffling things around so I don’t have to sit with the AC unit freezing my back. The door to the bathroom is really wide for some reason and blocks the entryway unless it’s closed or open all the way.
Also, whenever I enter to the gym, my room card would always be deactivated by the card reader at the gym! I had to go to the front desk several times just to get a new key or have my key reactivated. Annoying.
Was hoping I would be offered free wi-​fi, but wasn’t lucky enough. Tried to take advantage of the free wi-​fi in the lobby, but it was pretty slow, so ended up going back upstairs and paid the $ 10 for the in room wi-​fi.
Hotel restaurant, The Bistro, was okay. There’s plenty of food options and Asian plazas within a short drive.
Overall, for a business hotel, it works.

This was a great hotel. I can’t give it 5 stars because I am so use to hotels that give you freebies (without tacking it on to the total cost, that’s an artificial freebie) but I can say that it delivered in every other way. The hotels that give you those freebies tend to be value focused hotels, such as BW.
This is all the good:
1. Friendly helpful front desk staff
2. I got a great deal on the room!
3. The room was very nice: clean, big, fridge, couch, and sink in the room. The bathroom was also decent size. The room had an incredible view of the courtyard and pool. I wish I took a photo. It was room 508 and they referred to it as the Jr. Suite. This is not on their website though. I guess it’s technically a standard room but slightly better? Looking at the other rooms listed, they look like they must be super duper nice! But I was totally happy with mine and would stay again should I ever come back to this area. Unfortunately I forgot to take advantage of the Starbucks coffee in the room.

Having stayed here for the past 2 nights there are definite pros and cons to choosing this as a hotel. I’ll start off with the cons:
CONS:
*SLOW INTERNET. As in «dial-​up» speed when I asked another hotel guest in the elevator if he was having the same experience with the wi-​fi. When I spoke with Rafael (the front desk associate) why this was happening, he said it was because they were in sore need of new routers. He was honest enough to tell me that ever since he started in November of 2012, guests were constantly complaining yet nothing was being done.
*No bathroom vent fan. Yup. What happens when you do a #2 and you have no fan? You have no choice but to leave the door open to air it out. Not fun when you have a few guests in the room.
*Ice buckets in the room were so tiny that you could only fill it with a handful of ice. Um, what’s the point? I like lots of ice thank you very much.
PROS:
*Really comfy beds. I had no complaints lying down to get a good night’s rest on these mattresses. Down pillows that were nice and fluffy along with soft sheets made me a happy girl.
*Decent gym. I worked out in the morning and they had a few ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes. They also had free weights, some balls and some ropes. They also provided free earplugs so that you could listen to the tv’s on the machines while you worked out. A mini fridge with cool damp towels were also waiting for you once you got done. Oh, and filtered water– Yes!
*Big bathroom with a shower head that put out really strong water. You know how you go to other showers and just the experience of a different shower head is great because it’s different from the one you have at home?

Booked this place on Hotwire for $ 80 a night. The room was really clean and there were plenty of parking spaces. No free wifi but it was only $ 9.99 a night. Coffee in the room was starbucks and it is free!
Check in is at 3:00 and standard checkout is at 1pm! Close to lots of restaurants and supermarkets. Right next to freeway but it’s not too bad.
