My Wonder Dog Dog Training

My dog completed three of the excellent My Wonder Dog classes. Previously we’d gone through an underwhelming class at one of the big pet store chains, and after that it was a huge difference to have an experienced trainer like Vicky who really cared about my dog and wasn’t just pushing her through the class and out the door. She was taught with a focus on safety and lasting positive reinforcement. Since I never had a dog before we both had a lot to learn, but as others have mentioned the classes were also suitable for folks who have had dogs longer. I highly recommend taking your dog to Vicky’s classes.

Vicky and My Wonder Dog was a very important part in raising my two pups. Ardy and Lendy are now going on three years old and get many compliments on how well behaved they are. I adopted my pups together from the same litter. I took them both to Vicky’s classes by myself and I did have some reservations about trying to attend class and train two puppies at once. However, Vicky was amazing. Her training classes are very thorough in teaching basic commands like sit, stay, and down. Yet she also goes into many other important points of training, like not pulling on a leash, manners in greeting people and other dogs in crowds with distractions, staying while the handler is not in the dog’s site, and so much more. She gets your pup/​dog well prepared for the Canine Good Citizen test. Fun things can also be learned with Vicky, like how to take a «boy» and running through the tunnel. She encourages firm training, yet with lots of praise, love, and affection, which I believe is very important in the relationship between a person and their dog. I take pride in being able to ask my dogs to do things without having to yell at them. Even if it takes a few commands, the job can get done without raising my voice. I may be the one who takes pride in it, but I give credit to Vicky for encouraging that.
