Came in over the weekend for some quick eats and L&L hit the spot. Although I think the portions here are smaller than other locations the food quality and service was consistent with other stores. We ordered a katsu, teriyaki beef and a mini teriyaki chicken. Food was ready in about 10 minutes and food was good.

I was very happy they have a location near Milpitas. There’s many restaurants in the so it’s difficult to find parking. The employee greeted us when we walked in, which I really liked. I ordered the usual Loco Moco. This dish has two beef patties covered with gravy and your choice of sunny side up or scramble eggs. Also, they have white rice and the delicious macaroni salad. Great place of you’re craving for Hawaiian BBQ!

By far this is my least favorite L & L. The parking lot and traffic is pretty horrible. I don’t remember them playing any Hawaiian music inside. Never the less, the place was pretty busy mid day. I expected the place to be dead. The bathroom is clean despite needing to get a key. Let me just say that something is off with the sauce at this place. Idk just didn’t taste as good as other locations. The big problem is that this place will give you the least amount of food… Im talking about notably smaller portions on EVERYTHING. I swear i was missing a whole 1⁄3 of my usual chicken. Now they do cook their food well done here. It goes out golden brown. Location cuts corners and skimps on rice and potato salad… First and last time here. Good thing my friend lives next to a L & L and I will be going there next time when in the south bay

The fries they gave me melted through the Styrofoam container it came in. I tried telling the cashier, but he kept insisting it was to let the steam out. I have posted a picture on this Unilocal page.

I ordered about $ 40 worth of food that most of all was O.K. i have been coming here on and off for several years. I decided to try the garlic shrimp. My order was around 930pm. Maybe i was already in trouble? Still, food joints should sell the same quality food whether it is in the morning or 1 minute before closing. I bring this up because i called in to L&L just to let them know how bad the Garlic Shrimp was. First thing he said was, «because maybe its late…» okay, fine. He said i could not get my money back but he(Baley) did offer to replace my meal the next day. I get a call back 2 minutes later requesting i bring this smelly shrimp BACK to L&L! What the hell. Ok, being understanding, i ask to just send him pictures rather than hold on to smelly shrimp! Lol. He still insisted i bring it in! Jesus, really? So the shrimp looks like it was butterflied to be de-veined but the nasty veins were still in there, the shrimp was so dry i could not peel it, and for being Garlic Shrimp, they had hardly no flavor! So disappointed especially since i was sharing it with my wife for Good Friday(no meat day). I then called him back, 2 minutes later and told him he could find his shrimp on Unilocal and i would have my AMEX card handle the reimbursement. Well, just dont order the garlic shrimp. This place is amazing but the disappointing part is that half of the time that I go here, they don’t put lemon in my bag & they aren’t very helpful. Overall, this place serves amazing food.

You know what’s funny? I normally don’t go to L&L’s because I prefer J&J in Cupertino. However, this L&L is probably the only one I would go to. The service is quick and the seating area is actually pretty clean. My favorite thing? Service. The people here always repeat my order so WEBOTHKNOW if one of us has missed something during the food order. I appreciate this more than anybody knows because at the end of the transaction and I am missing an item, we both have issues. I’m mad at you for not packing everything, you mad at me for not ordering, etc. It’s a cycle. Also, I love the fact that the few times i ordered a spam musubi it came out hot and not cold like it was made forever ago and packaged into a fridge waiting for someone to not satisfy.

Love this place and the owner lady is super nice, but I swear some of the other workers need to learn how to smile or more specifically, say thank you. If you get tipped, you say thank you. You don’t answer with attitude and you provide the best service possible. Coming from the hospitality industry, it really grinds my gears when people aren’t courteous in the serving space. I wanted to take my tip back when I was given eye rolls and shitty service, when I was being nothing but nice. I’ll come back but I hope that this lady working here right now won’t be there to ruin a beautiful Sunday morning.

I received the worst service from an L&L restaurant in my life. I ordered poke a few months ago and it didn’t have any sauce. It was completely dry! I live 2 hours away and was in town for business and ordered to go. I called and the cashier apologized and said next time I come I will be given the 2 orders. Well I stopped yesterday and the manager Bailey said it was not true! I will never come here ever again. As a customer I am disappointed.

Food here is fresher than other locations! Cashier wasnt the friendliest, but the food was done quick and it was good! We order BBQ beef plate, mixed BBQ plate. My only 2 complaints were that you needed a key to open the bathroom door, that was in plain sight of the cashier and the bathroom cleaning solution made the whole restaurant smell lightly of an outhouse.

I’ll start by saying I go to L&L on a weekly basis. I started by calling the location and after 10 minutes I gave up on that after no answer. Drove to the location and ordered a few meals to go. The musubi was overly chewy with a ridiculous amount of seaweed. But my main concern was that the beef was burnt and dry, and the spicy chicken I ordered was almost completely chicken skins and a massive chunk of fat, never coming back to this location.

My coworkers and I called a day in advance to order catering trays. Upon arrival, we were greeted with non enthusiastic employees. It was 10:45am. Maybe they haven’t had their coffee yet. Anyways, we paid for our trays and was told it’d be 10 minutes. We went to get ice from grocery outlet and once we returned everything was ready. The garlic shrimp was delicious! Loaded with shrimp and the shrimp was butterflied with shell on. If you are lazy like me, just eat the shrimp with shell. That way you get a blast of garlic in your mouth too! I was told the spam musubi was good too. Thanks L&L for the food. Saves us time from cooking for our party at work!

Pretty great little(a bit divey) Hawaiian BBQ place. They have a variety of options! I had the salmon patty — with a side of fries and a Hawaiian fruit drink. Very good! The picky eater I was with had a cheeseburger! They also have meat, fish, and healthy plates(including a garden burger for vegetarians!). Very casual, pretty fast, good food. Sign says they’ve been open since 1976! Fun stop on our way back to the San Jose airport! Best of all? Extremely affordable — a very good value!

I was craving Hawaiian for a while and well good for me I knew it was nearby and well I saw it at eye level when I was heading to Paris Baguette so my craving was going to be satisfied. So as I entered the place I saw that it was small with some seating. The menu was typical Hawaiian BBQ fare but also had the«healthy» plates where the macaroni salad was replaced by steamed veggies and white rice with brown rice. I ordered and it was pretty fast turn around. The only thing is that the rest of the plate was not that great. The veggies were a bit more raw than expected and wished that I got the macaroni salad instead. That was my own fault. The meat was quite oily to the point that I felt like my mouth was coated with it. Overall I’ve definitely gotten better Hawaiian BBQ, but since this place is convenient, I’ll likely come back to satisfy cravings due to proximity.

I like bbq. I really do. and after eating at another place the previous day. I felt like I wanted more bbq. For whatever reason, L&L was calling out to me. I was about to go back to the same place I had gone. but felt like I needed to change it up… and L&L was right there. came in. ordered the low-carb plate.(because i just really wanted bbq). and then. sure. maybe a spam musubi because whatever. haven’t had one in awhile. food came out. yummy. maybe on the salty side. I dunno. something was off. but I was hungry and didn’t bother. in the end. it was ok. not bad, nothing great. and i left. still wanting more food.

This place never fails me whenever I crave fried, greasy goodness over rice plus some macaroni salad. The service here is consistently good. They can take a little bit long sometimes in getting the food out but I guess that just reinforces me to learn to be patient. I love their chicken katsu plate! The chicken is always crisp and they give a heaping portion of it. I can never finish an entire plate but I’m not complaining. I also really like their longanisa with eggs over rice. It’s not the best longanisa ever but it hits the spot when I want something sweet and savory :)

This is a great and affordable place to get a quick lunch or dinner. It’s located in a busy plaza in Milpitas and you can’t miss it. Parking could get difficult especially during peak hours. The restaurant itself is quite small with several smaller tables. The menu was pretty huge with a variety of meats from BBQ pork, short ribs, chicken katsu and many other sides like spam masubi and fries. There was no line when I got here with my friends and we made our decisions pretty quickly. I ended up getting #8, which is the Chicken Katsu that comes with two scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. The wait wasn’t that long in my opinion. It was at a reasonable time. The portion was huge for a regular(they also have a mini version). They gave me a huge portion of the chicken and I was definitely very happy about that. I couldn’t finish the whole thing and I was pretty satisfied with the food. It’s not that pricey either, with a regular being $ 7.75 and with a mini at $ 5.75. It’s very affordable and it’s great for what you pay for. It’s not out of the world, but it definitely satisfy that craving. I’ll probably be coming back whenever I’m craving some chicken katsu!

Ordered mahi mahi bento, charged for mahi mahi, tasted suspiciously like tilapia. The meat consistency is just too different. Maybe this was an honest case of mix-up. And it is well-reported that even fine restaurants sometimes do the fish switch-a-roo. But it doesn’t mean I am a happy diner.

Waited in line behind a family who took a long time making up their minds on what to eat. There were actually two cashiers in front but the other one(much younger) was totally zoned out and was just staring at the family. When the much ‘busier’ cashier looked at me after 10 minutes, that’s when she asked if I was with the group. I said nope, then she told me that the other cashier is ‘open’ to take my orders. I am like«oh freaking geeze!!! « I was looking at their selection and all I can see is mostly fried food. I know there are a bit of grilled choices but I was thinking of trying out their seafood selection and so ordered the seafood plate. It has two fish fillets, a couple of fried scallops, and couple of fried encrusted and butterflied shrimps on top of a mound of rice, cabbage and macaroni salad. I wasn’t happy about it, The dish was too greasy and the scallops were tough to the bite. The shrimp’s crust was too hard like the ones you can buy on grocery stores, too much batter to hide a smaller shrimp. The fish fillet was good and that’s the only positive thing in my meal. The rice was mushy and the macaroni is undeserving to be noticed. The cabbage was just chopped up and placed underneaththe food. I dunno if it was just for decoration or added crunch cause it didn’t look appetizing or was it helpful in cutting the grease on my food. I initially took on a bar stool facing the window while waiting for my order. Unfortunately I had to drastically find a different table after I saw a couple of gnats resting on the window… yikes! I think the older lady saw my grossed out facial expression and know why I had to change my seat. Over all, not somewhere I’d be coming back to.

After watching Guy Fieri’s Triple-D on Hawaii where he visited the mouth-watering Mike’s Huli Huli chicken and Dean’s Drive-in. My craving for Hawaiian fast food was amped-up. So on this extremely hot summer day(91-degree F), I came looking for a taste of Hawaii. The young man behind the counter was extremely helpful and let me ordered chicken katsu and beef short rib combo, which is not listed on the menu. The chicken katsu has a nice crispy breading on the outside while moist and tender inside. It was so delicious with the katsu sauce. I was given 3 pieces of the beef short ribs and they were nicely marinated and grilled. L&L’s mac salad is definitely hard to beat and I cleaned it up fairly quickly. The only area for improvement about this place is the environmental cleanliness as there were many gnats flying around. Perhaps they need to turn up the AC in this extreme heat with the door constantly opening and closing.
