Theresa of Honua Travel is wonderful! I have used her on two occasions this year. As long as she is in business, she will be my travel agent! She makes traveling so easy. Just tell her what and where you want to go and she will handle everything. She’s professional, friendly and patient… very important if you like to change your mind frequently.
In January, we booked our summer trip to Hawaii with her. She handled every little detail from the car rental, flights and stay. She even gave us recommendations of where to go and what to do. She helped us get the most bang for our buck. What I liked was that she was able to give us several options within our given budget. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves with this trip, mostly because we left all the logistics to Theresa.
We had such a good time, I decided to use her again. But this time for a group travel to Cabo with 13 ladies. She put in a lot of work for me and my girls on this one. Even with all my requests and having to deal with 13 ladies flying from different locations. I gave her our budget and she diligently worked to find the best deal. And we got it!
I love that Theresa is very easy to work with. She has a calm demeanor and is very personable. I really appreciate that she goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable.

Theresa helped me plan my honeymoon to Hawaii and she did it with flying colors!
We were able to fly out of SJC on a Sunday to Maui (for 3 days) and from Maui go to Kauai AND fly back on a Sunday back with SJC. She worked with our budget and helped us get a package that included airfare, hotel and a car rental on both islands.
We didn’t have to worry about doing our own research about where to stay and what to do, etc. as we were signed up for an orientation for both islands that allowed us to sign up for tours and activies for a discounted price.
During the whole process, she answered every question and concern I had and suggested places and activities to do based on our location. It was like having a personal tour guide.
Theresa is also super friendly and down to earth. From our first meeting, she was so easy to talk to and very relaxed. You can tell she’s extremely passionate about what she does and that made our experience more enjoyable.
All in all, we were extremely happy with the outcome as we had a fabulous time on our honeymoon and would definitely contact Theresa again for future vacationing :)

Theresa is amazing! No doubt about it. I took a trip to Hawaii, Maui just last week for 5 days for my boyfriend and I anniversary and his b-​day as well. I found her on Unilocal and decided to give her a shot. She gave me a couple quotes online from different hotels and accommodated all that I asked for in the hotel search. She also provided me with many recommendations as this was my first time traveling to Maui so I didn’t know how the island was like or what there was to do around the island. Once the hotel was booked which also included flight and car rental (best deal ever), I bothered her with a whole bunch of requests in which she was not hesitant to accommodate and see what she could do for me. She even went above and beyond to send a letter to the general manager of the hotel in regards to my special event and accommodations. I was blown away and did not expect that at all. Theresa is a great person and she will make sure her clients are taken care of no matter what. I definitely plan on using her services again for my future vacations.

Theresa did an amazing job organizing a very large group traveling to Ensenada, CA. She was so professional and diligent. Although much of our correspondence was through email, she was very easily accessible by phone. That is what I appreciated the most especially with all the technology these days! She is personable and will take care of you.

When I was talking to my maid of honor and bridesmaids about potential bachelorette party destinations, I threw around the idea of doing either Hawaii or a 3 day cruise to Mexico. Due to time constraints and budgetary reasons, we chose to do a cruise. When we decided on a cruise, I knew right away that they should contact Theresa at Honua Travel Concierge to book the cruise.
Theresa was very good at booking our large party for a cruise. We initially planned for 20 gals to join us, so she had to arrange for 5 different cabin bookings. She was very responsive and informative when it came to any questions, issues, or logistical planning. She reached out to all the girls individually after I had sent her my cabin assignments (not all the girls knew each other so I wanted to make sure the cabin mixes were just right!) and handled all of the ladies’ deposit payments and final booking payments. She patiently waited for the gals to respond back to her and gently reminded them if the deadlines were coming up.
When the final booking payment was due, 2 gals who already put down a deposit had to back out, so Theresa handled their cancellation and credit with the cruiseline, as well as the remaining payment options for the girls in their room. She was very amenable to the plan and very helpful when needed.
All in all, Theresa is very organized, helpful and responsive. All very important qualities I look for in a vendor. I am planning on some trips in the future and will definitely be using Honua travel concierge for my travel needs.
*Theresa also made sure that I was well taken care of, as well as my MOH on the trip. She is very kind and treats her clients very well! She also has these really cute luggage tags we were able to put on our gear! *

Theresa was the mastermind and organizer behind a huge bachelorette party/​cruise to Ensenada about two weeks ago. Not only did she plan, organize, and coordinate … she held our hands every step of the way. She sent out email reminders for our payment plan and even offered to do it for us. She is amazing!
I had such a blast on this cruise and have already recommended her to my friend who is also getting married and thinking of doing a cruise for her bachelorette.

Cruise info: Carnival aboard the Inspiration from Long Beach to Ensenada
January 18 – 21, 2013

Theresa helped me plan my 25 Birthday Cruise Celebration and everything went well! I had a total of 16 people in my group and Theresa was able to help me coordinate everyone’s dinner times and tables to the T! We all ended up sitting together for Dinner which was Awesome.
Whenever I needed something changed (like changing the deck we were staying in) she was able to do it at a moment’s notice. Awesome service and she really checks in to make sure everything is squared away before, during and after the trip.
The trip was so much fun we decided to plan another one with Theresa in the Future!

I have requested numerous quotes from Honua Travel and Theresa has always provided a professional, clear response — very quickly. Her rates have always been comparable or better to other vendors. Theresa booked our first Disneyland trip in 2006 and it was great! All I had to do was email her what I wanted and I get an email/​call back with choices. After an email/​call confirmation on what I wanted, our trip was booked! Everything I needed was emailed to me (necessary documents & itinerary).
After a great experience with Theresa, I contacted her again a few months later to book a hotel room for a wedding. One email to her was all it took. In less than an hour, I received an email with all the info & confirmation!

Trying to book flights, get ACCURATE hotel and rent a car information can be so frustrating at times but ever since I started using Honu Travel for my travel needs, life has been good!
Theresa, the owner, is one of the most pleasant people you will ever come across and has helped me tremendously time and time again. I have utilized other agencies in the past (to my misfortune) and have never felt more comfortable than I do with Honu Travel Concierge!
My first dealing with Theresa was a few years ago. There was a death in the family and I had to get to southern California IMMEDIATELY!!! She took my information and with in a few minutes, contacted me back with my flight and rent a car information. She did all but drive me to the airport (which I’m sure she would have) and my family was so grateful upon my arrival!
On a more recent trip to Hawaii, she found me the best rate that fit into my budget and for that, I was able to spend more time there and have one of the most memorable trips to date!

First off I should state that I am lazy when it comes to setting up travel plans, car reservations, hotel reservations, etc… Well not just making the reservations, but the extra effort involved to find the best price and get the better room, type process. So, when an ex-​coworker of mine started her own travel/​concierge business, I put her to work.
Now I have dealt with multiple travel agencies but usually I get annoyed because it winds up taking just as much time to work out the details with the agent as it does doing it online.
With Theresa (the owner), I can fire off an email like:
«…I need a round trip to Huntsville, AL from xx to yy, a car, err a Chrysler 300 thank you very much, and the following week my Uncle and I need tix to the Giants game.»
Done. She’ll send back a list of flight/​time options, and upon my go ahead, package up all the documents and reciepts needed for the trip, email them and/​or snail-​mail ‘em if needed.
Another big thing is trip support for when stuff inevitably goes wrong. For instance one time the rental car agency ran out of cars, I put Theresa on it, and she chewed them a new one so bad, they drove a 300 over from their other office in another town and comp’ed me a few days.
Theresa is very professional, honest and straight up, extremely diligent, tons of knowledge about the Islands, and like a pit bull when someone messes with one of her clients!
