I absolutely do not recommend this place.

I had a meeting today for a possible space at Cerano. I met Angie at the leasing office. She greeting me with a warm smile and assisted me with all the questions I had. I was looking for affordable house and I knew Cerano had some spaces that cater to that. Unfortunately all spaces were full but I’m writing this review because of the great customer service Angie provided. She gave me plenty of information and was very kind and professional. I’m all about the first impression and Angie was amazing.

I lived here for 2 and half years. Bad experience. Biggest problem was all kinds of bugs, mouse and noisy pool area. There was no enforcement of not using pool after 10pm as stated in the policy. Equipments in gym are old and most of TVs in the gym equipments are broken. Above all DO NOT expect security deposit once you decide to leave the apartment. I hired a professional cleaner to clean everything like new but they came up with a flimsy excuse that they had touch up some wall paint here and there therefore they won’t be returning my deposit. Do a great service to yourself and stay away from this horrible place.

I got an double confirmed appointment for 3:30pm and no one is here at leasing office since last 45 mins. The office is locked with no note outside. There are couple of others here waiting outside with me.
Hell, one guy has master key they gave and he is waiting to return. We called central office. They said employees might have left home early as this is weekend. Normal office close time is 6pm.
Management is free to reach me and will give employees details whom i talked.
If you are resident reading this review, you are not safe as employees don’t even care about master key. They have left for two days. This poor guy can’t drive for next two days as his license is with them.
I don’t know what they can do but certainly need change in management. Hire someone who knows their job and responsibility.

I have lived here since Feb 2015 and I have no complaints.

Good place to stay. love it. very friendly associates and staffs. Andrea is great .I currently live in this apartment. The only annoying problem is no network in first floor apartments. i switched from T mobile to At&t, still no network.

Almost a year since we moved in and we still loved this place.
Staff is really friendly and helpful.
The maintenance crew responds really quickly.
The pool and the club house are awesome.
The gate as issues sometimes but they are always on it.
Overall It’s a very nice community.
My recommendation is «Do not leave anything in your car», This has been an issue since we moved to the Bay area.

I woke up 3:30am in the morning from deepest sleep and wright this because the false alarm.
In 7 months I live here false fire alarm in the morning was 5−6times maybe more!!! not to mention in the day time false fire alarm.
Mice!!!
And since I live here I live with mice problems and had to live with mice traps. They come and go through the walls. I found the mouse as soon as I lived here on day 2!!!
I can hear upstairs walking! Just walking.

For us, these guys are Cheaters. Yes, As simple as that. They cheated us 3 times in one month.
1^st time:
* I saw Craigslist ad for ~$ 2600 for 2BR.
* Called leasing office (I called actual leasing office, not some central office) and confirmed craigslist pricing and took appointment 1 hour later.
* Took 2 hours off from work (Which is very big deal for me btw) and reached leasing office on time.
* I mentioned about my appointment and craigslist ad to the leasing office lady. (I spoke with her already over the phone). She immediately said, «Sorry, that was a mistake we don’t have any 2 Bedrooms for ~2600, we have studios in that price range if you are interested» (She didn’t look surprised at all, as if she already know that the craigslist pricing is wrong)
* I said «I called and spoke to you just one hour back and you said pricing is correct.»
* she while trying escape: «I think you spoke to somebody else and craigslist price is a mistake, But have very good apartment in that price range… blah blah…» trying to convince us for studio for ~$ 2600.
* I thought may be its a genuine mistake and left for work.
* Just out of curiosity I called again after 30 mins, spoke to the same lady, She again said «Yes, We have 2BR for ~$ 2600, Would you like to schedule an appointment today??».
Cerano Apartments Staff!!! You are cheaters.
2^nd Time:
* Almost same story, Saw craigslist ad for ~2400 1BR, And took the appointment, and went there immediately. Staff said: «We change our prices hourly, ad was posted in the morning, now its PM, and our prices are gone up». Then I said: «Then why don’t you update the craigslist ad with increased pricing?». Then they said «We dont post ad, some other team posts ad… blah… blah…»
Seriously??? Prices change everyhour. Why Not??? Cheaters can say whatever they want.
3^rd Time:
* We saw the ad «$ 2210, 1BR, 893 SFT, with 4 weeks free».
* Again took appointment and off from work and went on time.
* The first thing they said is «Its is a one bedroom apartment, But there no separation between Living room and Bedroom, Technically its studio.»
* Then i said «Why didn’t you mention this thing during out talk over the phone?».
* Lady’s reply: «As per our marketing team, it is still a one bedroom».
Why would I care about your stupid marketing.
3^rd time in a row, You cheated your otherwise potential long-​term customer. Now not only we; our friends, family, no one will ever consider your apartments.

Great place to live! Andrea was very acommodating and helped me find a place suitable for my living needs. I did a lot of homework before choosing a place and this as the amenities I was looking for. Swimming pool, rec room, computers, etc; they got it all. I’m happy with the choice and plan on being here for awhile.

I have lived at Cerano apartments for over six months now and have been very pleased with the property and amenities included with my rent. The clubhouse has always been clean and ready for use. The ability to rent out the clubhouse for a large party is convenient, however I haven’t done so. The pool area is very open and yet private. There is a large cabana at one end that can be closed for an even more private spa day. During the winter the pool stays warm and allows for lap swimming year round. I use the fitness center weekly and even though the gym here is more tailored towards cardiovascular workouts, I find that it suits my needs adequately. The staff at Cerano are there to help at every corner. Every problem that has arisen during my lease has been resolved in a timely and professional manner. I have lived in many apartments before and Cerano sits atop the list in overall customer satisfaction. My only small complaint is that the speed bumps in the parking garage are quite large and negotiating them in a small car can be difficult when in a hurry. The apartment homes are priced fairly when compared to the surrounding area. The walk in closets are huge and it is very nice to see a large guest closest as well. The balconies provide a peaceful area to relax and drink a glass of wine. Most of the residents here are very well mannered and since I have lived here I have never had to report a complaint. It will be an easy choice for me to resign a new lease and continue living here. I highly recommend this property for a new couple or a young family. Surrounded by tech companies there is almost no outdoor noise pollution to contend with while walking around the property. No need to look any further for your next apartment, Cerano covers everything.

Rude leasing agent. I came in here and ask for a tour, the lady told me that it’s by appointment only. So i asked when can I view it since the price on craigslist is very good and i would like to see it and hold that price. She told me price changes daily, and she won’t be able to give me a quick tour at all as she is scheduled to give tours to other people later. So i waited outside from 4:30 to 5 no one ever walked in and she was just sitting by her desk the whole time doing her stuff and I was like really?! You could have just gave me a quick 5 min tour in that 30 min free time but instead you choose to chill on your chair and do your thing? I came back again next time the price went up $ 200. Thank you for your customer service.

I am living at Cerano Apartments for over a couple years already.
On the positive side:
— beautiful swimming pool and jaccuzi
— very nice looking architecture
— very friendly office staff (but not much useful)
— very effective cleaning and maintenance of the property
— did we say «jaccuzi»? We really love the jaccuzi and kids enjoy the beautiful pool.
On the negative side:
— non-​smoking policy is not enforced
— poor flooring (upstair walking and jumping)
— lack of garage parking space on first floors
— parking gates stop working often
— many repetitive false fire alarms
— no security on-​site
— a lot of vandalism in parking garage
— dog poo all over surrounding streets
— ants issues if you do not keep your floors and behind oven/​fridge very clean
— Milpitas landfill just minutes away. Some days it smells very strong, others are ok. Depends on winds I guess.
— trash chutes are too narrow and can accommodate only a few bags on lower floor, causing people to leave trash outside the chute. But employees are very prompt at picking up at least.

BEWARE! Cerano will attempt to censor this review.
This place is an absolute nightmare.
The lobby will trick you. The lobby is the nicest thing about this place and that’s about it.
Here’s why you shouldn’t ever live here:
1) The garages are crowded and there is never a parking space. No assigned parking spaces. Also, the spaces are VERY NARROW. No one in that building knows how to park. Everyone consistently parks over the lines or takes up two spots with their douchey pickup trucks. The management will not do anything about this. You car will get banged up. If you don’t know how to drive, park, or care about your car getting banged up, this is the place for you. P. S. there’s 6 floors so it takes forever to get to that parking space that isn’t there.
2) Who loves pests? This place is a cess pool of ant colonies. And no, it doesn’t matter if you don’t leave anything out, the ants still will come in and look for anything. The ants will literally come through your walls via the kitchen and any other crevice they can find.
3) The neighbors are extremely nosy. Have children? This is not the place for them. Your kids literally cannot make ANY noise or else the police will be called on you. We had the police called on us twice just because our kids were playing with the cat in the living room and a yarn ball.
4) As mentioned before, there are 6 floors on the building with the 6^th being the roof. There are literally gang bangers that loiter at the top 5^th and 6^th floors. Our vehicle was broken into 3 times while we lived here and the management did nothing despite complaints. They say there’s a security team patrolling but I have NEVER seen ONE security officer, vehicle, or anything related to security. There is zero security here. It is also not a very gated community. It is gated, but it’s so incredibly easy for anyone to gain access it shouldn’t be considered gated.
5) The management has no conception of privacy. They will hang your private letters regarding anything relating to insurance, rent due, etc… open-​faced and visible for everyone to see on your front door.
6) The trash is a nightmare. You have to walk down a football field to get to the chute. You used to get trash pickup outside your door but the community voted to get rid of it (what)??? There’s also copious amounts of junk piled up next to the chutes because despite everyone voting to get rid of the trash pickup, they’re too lazy to put the trash in the chutes themselves. (WHY?)
7)The rent is extremely high for how incredibly low-​quality the appliances are and paper thin the walls and ceilings are. As I mentioned before about this isn’t the place for kids, this pretty much seals the deal. Every step you make will be heard. Get prepared to have the police called on you.
8) The management is extremely rude. They really have no consideration or care for the customer what-​so-​ever.
9) Probably the biggest reason not to live here, it really STINKS. Yes, Milpitas has a landfill, but this place catches the biggest draft of that smell you can possibly imagine. It starts to give you a headache. That along with the constant exhaust fumes being blown down the hallways and looming in the garage because the architectural design of the building was inane and rushed.
Yes, you will breathe in lots of exhaust fumes if you live here.
Don’t move in here or you will be sorry.

The bedroom they showed us did not have any doors and they gave us a lousy excuse that didn’t make any sense. Also the living room was so tiny for the 800 plus sq ft they claimed the apartment was.
They didn’t even show us another apartment with a different layout after seeing how dissatisfied we were with the house they showed us.

It isn’t staff more than it is the people. i’m not sure you can be lazy enough to leave your garbage anywhere but the trash chute. Or push sale ads down in the garbage. The computers in the computer lab don’t ever work 2 out of the 3 never work so everyone waits for the one. Layout is good employees are as well.

Before deciding to move in, just take a walk to their parking garage, especially the corners of garage at the 5^th floor.
Be extra cautious when choosing to stay at CERANO, it’s safer to pick up the Amazon packages at local locker station than having them sent to apartment. After staying awhile, you will find it’s little better than staying in a motel at downtown Detroit.
Make sure you have nothing left behind when you move out !!!
CERANO will most likely not keep anything for you even it’s something valuable, but «help» you to discard them free of charge IF it’s something valuable, and without informing you voluntarily.

One word: mice. My fiancé lives here (on the 2^nd floor) and first saw a mouse about a month ago. Traps were set up when management was notified but since then there has been no follow up. My fiancé set out some peppermint balls to deter the mice but in the last week, he has seen two more mice around the apartment. They come out from the stove and oven area and squeeze through the smallest cracks.
So, so gross.
My fiancé is moving soon so luckily we don’t have to deal with this for very much longer but if you’re considering living here, I would make sure you have the unit thoroughly inspected first. (Checking behind the stove and fridge areas, etc)

The apartment building is pretty cool! I’ve had a pleasant experience with all the staff members — very friendly and helpfull! My regular go to person is Raj and he is amazing! He’s very professional, extremely helpful going above & beyond, and provides excellent customer service — I can always count on Raj! They try to involve the tenants with activities for holidays, special occasions, charity events, pot luck etc. in the community room. Some of the highlights that I really do enjoy about Cerano Apts include:
— It’s a gated secured building/​covered and gated car park
— Spacious apartment — nice big kitchen, good size bathroom, walk-​in closet, washer/​dryer in unit (a big plus), high ceilings
— 24 hour gym/​Clubhouse — nice area to hang out with friends etc.
— Pool/​Jacuzzi/​BBQ area/​Fireplace
— Great location, close to major employers/​shopping centers/​movie theaters/​restaurants/​parks etc.
— Minutes away from Milpitas Light Rail Station, Highway 237 and I-​880.

one word: MICE!!!
I moved in few months ago and everything seemed very nice at first. I love my unit and the location. However, shortly not even a month later when I was sitting in my living room sipping tea on a quiet afternoon, I saw a little mouse running across the breakfast bar!!! Needless to say, as any girly girl would, I screamed at the top of my lungs and completely freaked out. I called the office and was told that somebody will come and take care of it. 2 hours later, nobody came and meanwhile I felt like a prisoner in my own home (sad face) I then went to the leasing office and spoke to Rebecca who informed me that pest control can come next week which was 7 days later. She then gave me mousetraps to put down while I wait. Then went on with a speech that mice are part of nature and there’s nothing more that they can do. Ridiculous and completely unacceptable!
The very thought of a living mouse in my apartment traumatized me to my core. I kept all the lights on and blasted music day and night to «scare» away that mouse. I couldn’t eat or sleep for the first 2 days and kept a thick towel rolled up to my bedroom door to keep the mouse out. then on day 3 while all the lights and music were on, I saw the mouse running behind my entertainment set in the living room and it was just a few feet from me!!! I became completely hysterical and called the service line again. They told me that it’s after hours and there’s nothing they can do because they’re in the Philippines! WTF!!! Shaking and crying, I put down 2 traps by my TV unit and waited for the mouse to be trapped. After a short while, it finally got caught but it’s not DEAD. The eekky squeaking noise from that little mouse went on for hours until my friend came over and removed it from my place.
I called the next day and put in a formal complaint. I told them how scared I was and I had to throw away a lot of my food which I just purchased from WholeFoods and everything in my apartment is «stained» by that mouse. They send out maidservice to clean my kitchen and bathroom the next day which made me feel better. Leslie the manager called and said she and maintenance will follow up next week. I thought this was great and accepted their «sincere apologies» BTW, manager never came nor did maintenance to this day.
3 months later, at 2am tonight I saw a MOUSE AGAIN!!! WTF!!! for as much money as I’m paying to live here, I expect resort living with NO F’ING MICE running freely in my damn apartment. Seriously, is that too much to ask??? They claim to have pest control once a week to take care of any mice issues. Well, it’s obviously not working and they should fire that pest control guy! Secondly, all the garbage left out by people’s doors at night to be collected is an open invitation for the mice to come, literally straight to the door! How dumb is that? And we have to pay a mandatory garbage collection fee that they like to call ‘valet trash’? fancy name but total bullsh*t service!!! It’s not working and stop taking my money Cerano!!! Take care of this damn mice problem!
For anyone who’s considering living here: be warned! you will encounter MICE problems sooner or later. Cerano will just tell you that «mice are part of nature and they already have pest control do their thing once a week, and there’s nothing more they can do» meanwhile, good luck working, living and sleeping with a live rodent in your living space. good luck storing your food, expensive clothes, shoes and makeup… the mice will eventually get to them all!
