History

Established in 1980.

Casa Azteca has served the South Bay with its incredible menu of Mexican Cuisine since 1980. From their irresistible chips and authentic salsa to their famous enchiladas, Casa Azteca has continued to impress its customers from the beginning. Casa Azteca means the House of the Aztecs and was named in honor of the Aztec Indians of Mexico and their wonderful traditions by the founders, Humberto (Beto) and Socorro Cardenas.

Believe it or not it all started in a tiny little town of Atengo, Mexico where although they never met as children, they were both born there. Beto moved away at the age of 3 and it was in 1965 that a chance meeting in North Hollywood, CA was the beginning of this love story. In 1974 they married and the dream of opening their own restaurant was started. Beto’s love for food and amazing ability in the kitchen along with Socorro’s friendly and warm personality made them the perfect match to provide a wonderful customer experience.

Meet the Business Owner

David S.

Business Owner

Casa Azteca is now owned by David Souza, long time area resident and local Farmers Insurance Agent since 1975. His personal love of cooking and that Casa’s Mexican food had always been his favorite, made it an easy decision to buy the restaurant when it became available. Not wanting to fix what wasn’t broken he has maintained the same recipes and staff that made the place famous. Socorro remains on as consultant and hostess to greet every customer with that old familiar smile.

We sincerely thank our loyal customers, many of whom were there on opening day, for their support through the years. We have celebrated with them during their numerous family events held at the restaurant and watched their families grow. Our long-time and loyal staff, many of whom have been with us for 20 years, have been key to our success. It is because of our loyal customers and staff that Casa Azteca remains one of the South Bays premier Mexican restaurants.
