Established in 2009.

Aroma Coffee and Snacks was founded by Kendu and Linda. We are family members of Bambu, another well known coffee and dessert store in San Jose.

Aroma was created to make it a convenient stop for the entire family where young kids, teenagers & adults surely have their favorites at Aroma.

Bless Aroma and their bomb Smashed Avocado dessert/​drink
I have been going here for years and cannot believe that I haven’t written a review for it yet! It’s a small shop located inside a plaza/​shopping mall complex. I’ve gotten their Vietnamese sandwiches (always get it with the fried egg, the extra cost is worth it) and though it’s more expensive than their competitors, it’s still really good.
The main star of the show is the smashed avocado drink though. Within it is coconut milk, tons of avocado and other types of jellies such as rainbow, boba, and Pandan. Topped with a scoop of shaved ice. It’s not overly sweet and the amount you get is huge. In my humble opinion, it’s a better deal than milk tea and so much yummier. There’s ample amount of avocado; they don’t skimp out on that. Every bite you take has avocado in it. If there is one think you HAVE to order, it’s this.

Two years ago, my dad and I used to come here every weekend to order their HIGHLY ADDICTING smashed avacado drink. I moved about 35 miles away from Milpitas and now two years later, I still YEARN AND CRAVE for this heavenly created drink! It is freakin’ delicious! My only disappointment is that I cannot get this drink anywhere else and that saddens me :(

Come here with my parents probably once a month when they decide they need to get some stuff from seafood city. Our basic orders include the roti chicken for my dad, the fried tilapia for my mom and sister, and I usually get the tofu Bahn mi. My Bahn mi is good but they put a ton of butter on the bread which I could do without. Then my mom always gets a smashed avocado that was recommended by her friend and my dad gets a Saba mixed drink. I tried the cassava drink for the first time and really liked it. Not super sweet like I expected. We will definitely be back in another month

My famiLy SWEARS by this pLace and the Smashed Avocado. Being that it was a super hot day, I finaLLy aLLowed them to drag me out.

This review is strictly for the Avocado Smash since it’s the only item I ever purchased from here. I came here a long time ago after eating at a random Szechuan restaurant with my boyfriend. It was very close to where I was and I wanted to try their macaroon ice cream. Unfortunately, they ran out. I saw a picture of the Avocado Smash and instantly ordered it. I was surprised how tasty it was! I became super addicted to the drink, that I hogged it all to myself the entire night. The girl who rang me up was incredibly kind well. If I’m ever in town again, I’ll be sure to swing by and try out the rest of the menu! I give this place a solid 5 stars.

We came here to get a quick lunch of banh mi and che, but when we arrive we didn’t realize we’d be eating in a food court! It’s located in an asian plaza that’s more swayed to the filipino side than anything. I don’t think Aroma is even run by Vietnamese as the food and styling screamed Filipino. Regardless the banh-​mi was not bad. Sweet meat. The che wasn’t bad either but they lacked some of the jellies that I liked.

Aroma Coffee & Snacks is the place to be when it comes to my favorite bahn-​mi sandwich: fried eggs w/​Vietnamese ham!!! One word: deelishhhh! There is this woman there who owns the store, I believe, that has the best customer service out there… very hard to find nowadays! She goes beyond what is needed… always smiling, repeats your orders, fast delivery, and knows her repeat customers! She will definitely know me after the delicious meal I just had there!
Indulged tonight on — Banh mi sandwich viet ham with fried eggs, thai tea, and fried tofu!
Highly recommend this place for food porn lovers out there!!!

I come here often for smash avocado, Thai tea, and milk tea. I have tried the tofu drink which wasn’t too bad. I live for their smash avocado… It’s filling!!! The cashiers are always nice an that’s why I like coming here. The drinks are affordable! At times, the avocados are too ripe and it doesn’t taste good at all.
I have ordered the soup and sandwich before and when you order a meal it may come with the fried banana. From time to time I order the fish balls with basil leaves. I just wish they could leave it in the fryer a bit longer so it’s not too soft.
They now serve ice cream macaroons!!! Too expensive though!!! I’d rather purchase a gallon of ice cream at Seafood City.

I really enjoy Aroma when it comes to their drinks and their sandwiches. However, some of their rice dishes have been hit-​or-​miss for me, especially the crispy roti chicken meal. In fact, I was downright disappointed with their crispy roti chicken since it was very bony, not very tender, and included what I believe to be the neck of the chicken.
As for the sandwiches and drinks, I have not been disappointed and keep coming back for those. The sandwiches are simple, yet satisfying to me. I often opt for the grilled pork or BBQ pork and will add a fried egg when I am in the mood for it. The veggies in the sandwich are always fresh but at times seem rather cold (feels like they may have come from the fridge but definitely not from the freezer).
Their drinks seem to be on the sweeter side, but I find that quite endearing. I recommend trying the smashed avocado, as it is a rather novel and tasty concoction that Aroma is known for.
Also, one other precaution: when ordering a sandwich or a rice combo, you should explicitly state which you want. One time, I thought I was ordering a BBQ pork rice combo with an egg but was actually served the BBQ pork sandwich with an egg. It wasn’t a big deal and there’s bound to errors in communication now and then, but I hope you can avoid the same communication mishap.

I’ve Had the deep fried tofu cubes, the Turmeric Drink, and the Smash Avocado drink. The Fried Tofu was very bland, I was expecting it to have some special seasoning, it looked good but didn’t taste as good as it looked. I actually tried ordering this fried tofu stuff previous to this visit but they said they were sold out, it was 8:30pm when I cam they closed at 9:00pm. Maybe they were too lazy to cook. They were already putting chairs up… So since they were sold out I ended up eating next door at Chow King, they too had fried tofu which was actually pretty good, better than this place.
The Turmeric drink was just ok, too sweet. It’s supposed to be a health drink. Too much Passion Syrup. They should just sweeten it with natural sweetness like Stevia.
The Smash Avocado drink was the better of the 3 items I tried. It’s different, never had anything like it. Still a lil too sweet for me. Just cut back on the sugar and I’d be good.

I love the smashed avocado here! It’s so good. Avocado, boba, jelly, milk and ice. It’s my favorite snack or dessert, and it’s only $ 3.50. A little bit cheaper than other milk tea drinks. I’ve also tried the sandwiches and won ton noodle soup here. Not the best I’ve ever had, but everything here is really cheap and quick.
Smashed avocado is hands down the best thing they have though!

No nonsense, delicious asian dessert drinks. Smashed avocado has a pretty thick consistency but has the good avocado flavor in it. Some asian places have «avocado shakes» but it doesn’t taste like avocado at all! So i’m glad this place keeps the authenticity of the avocado. The thai dessert drink was my favorite. Lychee, pandan jelly, jackfruit in a sweet milk. Loved it!
My husband kept saying «man, if I were a bachelor, I’d be living near here so I could come everyday!» Well too bad mister, you’re married and we’ll be coming here once in awhile!

I tried the smashed avocado drink ($ 3.75) here today-​delicious! It’s comparable to Bambu’s Bo Dam drink, which I also love. However, Aroma’s is more of a drink (more liquid/​milky, can consume using solely a big straw), while Bambu’s is more of a dessert (very thick consistency, need a spoon to eat). Both have avocado chunks and chewy jellies, so it just depends on what you you’re in the mood for (liquid drink or solid dessert)! :D

The Shredded Chicken Sandwich was really good! One of the best chicken sandwiches I had! The Dragon milk tea was also very good, not too sweet, very well balanced. Looks like I now have to try the smashed Avocado drink

I don’t know why, but this place showed up when I searched for «wifi café» in Milpitas. There is no wifi here !! However, I do enjoy eating the banh mi here! They add like a melted cheese sauce or something to the one I order which I THINK is some kind of pork with peanuts. Very unexpected but pleasantly delicious.
I also like to order the halo halo here sometimes b/​c it’s more affordable than Sweet Cup and tastes better than Bambu.
It’s nice to come here if you are eating solo since it’s food court style seating. And easy to order to-​go! The cashier people have all been quite friendly too!
