Live music periodically on various Sunday’s season and weather permitting(call ahead to confirm music). Some really great local and international talent has graced the stage over the years. There are a few big seasonal events that happen each year as well. This venue is and always has been a kid friendly venue(provided are supervised by adults who aren’t as childish). THEONLYFEWSTANDINGRULESOFTHEVINEYARD: 1. NO unsupervised kids 2. NO pets of any kind regardless of size(they have they own and they are a bit territorial) 3. NO outside wine allowed. 4. NO tasting on Sunday’s(especially during music dates) 5. NO tours EVER!!! 6. NO it’s not a snobby wine venue for pretentious connoisseurs, BUTITIS however a private locally owned business with local and regional award winning wines that are available for purchase by the bottle or case(mixed allowed) at a reasonable price. 7. NO a-holes(rich or poor) All that being said Perry is a straight shooter and although he is more than accommodating to paying customers who are respectful to the winery and its staff, He has a no nonsense approach to those who act as though their patronage buys them a right to be condescending and/or hold contempt for what few long established rules have been enacted.(Mentioned above). Carrie is a laid back mellow smith soft spoken overseeing to all. Both owners are very approachable but if your looking to get some one on one question and answer time it is better sought during the weekday opening hours vs. busy Sunday’s and/or high traffic moments. Such a cute place in the middle of the country but really not a far drive from Memphis. We were coming for the live music, but it was cancelled so we came anyway to check it out! We brought snacks, chairs & a blanket & literally hung out for 4 hours! You can sample 4 wines & then buy what you want. They have picnic tables so you can sit there if you don’t bring your own seats. We chatted with the owner afterwards — very nice! Great little afternoon getaway. Bug spray is a must!!!

I LOVE this place — even Perry, the grouchy old man is one of the funniest guys in the business. He is literally, one of my favorite people in the wine business and I deal with tons of people in California and all states. Talk about a winemaker with a sense of humor and no pretense. Vidal Blanc — beautifully made, good minerality with a nice kick of acidity. Think Sauvignon Blanc for TENBUCKS! If you love Cali wines buy a case of this, it doesn’t get any better for the price. I know he puts about 10% Pinot Grigio in it to give it a nice fleshy quality and finish. These wines have won awards and they also do some great shows out there on Sundays. If you’re in the area make a stop here, lose your attitude, and enjoy yourself. You don’t come here to take a tour or talk about the viscosity of the wine — come in and enjoy hard working people that know how to have and Give a Great Time. (too bad about Whitney W. — they were short staffed with 200 people through the doors and this person liked the wine but had to give them 1 star because of no tour — WTF?) It doesn’t say tours anywhere on the website

I’m an out-of-towner that got to sit down and enjoy terrific wine! Superb hospitality with a beautiful scene being right next to the actual vineyard. My favorite red(I only prefer reds, so that is all I tasted) BiG River Red, I bought three bottles to take with me back to CA! The locals really took me in and made me feel welcome! I met the«grumpy old man» from which a different person commented about, and he isn’t grumpy at all! Super sweet and his dogs too! I wish I could be here for a Sunday with the live band, but I’ll for sure be there the next time I come to visit! Thanks again Old Millington Winery, CHEERS!

Love the events here. Live music out in the country. The wine is shipped in and labeled, I believe-someone correct me if I’m wrong, and most is a little too sweet for my taste. The delta white is a good white and the port is good. A lot of novelty wines like muscadine. Let’s be honest, you don’t go to these things for the wine. Bring cash, it’s $ 5 per person which is a steal for good afternoon in a camp chair listening to live music. Get there early for shade. No pets as they have s couple of dogs that are friendly and roam the crowd.

Don’t waste your time if you are expecting anything other than a wine store. The wine is priced well and tastes good but the old man behind the counter is a complete grouch! We drove all the way from hernando for the winery experience and expected a tour. He endulged us with a wine tasting(4 tiny cups of your choice — think communion cups) but was irritated by any questions. He rudely told us to go talk to another woman. We asked the woman if we could have a tour and when she turned to start the grumpy old man yelled«NOTOURS». I heard him talking to the lady a few minutes later and he said those people were obviously blind and couldn’t see we were busy… And wanted to ask a bunch of God d**n questions. Definitely will NOT ever be back. Obviously if people come to a winery they don’t just want to buy a bottle of wine and be on their way… we passed plenty of random wine stores on the way we could’ve done that at — and probably had a better experience. Updated to add that the response from the owner only shows his lack of respect for his clients! Yes there was live entertainment(with a cover — which conveniently isn’t on the website. We did review the website before coming to the winery. Not much information there!) and it was crowded however that does not excuse the way the owner talked about his clients. I would hope to never hear someone say GD much less hear it to describe someone merely interested in your products. Also even the back of your wine bottles say«come tour the vineyards»

I found this place while looking for interesting things to do near Millington(which is a pretty short list) and thought I’d give it a try because they were supposed to have a band playing that day. The band was cancelled due to threatening weather so that was a bummer. I admit I could write everything I know about wine on a single sheet of paper and still have plenty of room left over for the Gettysburg Address but… the wine was very good and the fruity stuff(strawberry and blackberry) was really, really sweet. Other than that there isn’t a lot to say… it was the wrong season to check out the vineyard(it was almost completely barren) and after buying a bottle of wine, we stood around for a few minutes wondering what to do next. Maybe the live music would have livened things up a bit. Staff and dogs were very friendly.

«Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it.» ~ Anonymous Yeah, yeah that saying is old and kinda lame… but oh so true. **insert my giggling here** I’ve gone wine tasting in Napa and throughout Europe. I’m not showing off… just giving some reference here and explaining that my expectations were pretty low for this place given we were in Tennessee(not being snotty, it’s just that Tennessee isn’t known for its wine… whiskey, yes, wine, no). I knew this wouldn’t be quite like my other experiences but I was really impressed! Keep in mind this isn’t a big winery, but the small town charm makes it super adorable. The winery sits on an old goat pasture and I just loooooove that there is local wine. And verrrrrry reasonably priced! Like $ 10 to $ 12 a bottle. We did a wine tasting and I decided to give the sweeter wines a go and have to say… they were pretty delicious. I even bought their plum wine(they were doing Christmas in July). If you’re in the area or need a day trip, look this place up!

Small Country Winery! We stopped in here to try their wine on our way through Memphis. The lady that greeted us and did our tasting was nice and welcoming. I only tried the dry wines. They had a Vidal Blanc, one called Big River Red, and a Chambourcin Cynthiana blend called Crying Angel Red. I didn’t find anything that I just loved but everyone has different taste. I hear their sweet wines are good but I don’t drink sweet so I didn’t try them. If you are in the area you should stop in and try the wine. You can’t pass through the general area of a winery and not stop in right?

What an adorable place! My boyfriend and I rolled up to the vineyard about 10 minutes prior to closing, just hoping we could try some Tennessee wines. The rain had just stopped and the sun sparkled on the damp vines. We entered the small building and were immediately hit by laughter and loud talking emitting from about 8 people who occupied all of the seating space. We proceeded to the counter and were greeted by a friendly man with a thick Tennessee accent, «Oh, you just came in on the county meeting! What would you like to try?» I loved it! The locals proceeded to talk to us while we tasted everything from fruit wines to the unique muscadine — all for free. «Where are you from?» one surly man asked. «Oh, we’re driving to Colorado from New Jersey,» I responded, noticing the large glass of wine he’d emptied. «New Jersey?!» The owner half looked at me like I was a foreigner and then proceeded to call his wife over and mentioned that she grew up there. The wine was sweet — like everything in the South — and I purchased a bottle of blackberry wine for $ 11(!!!). They would have invited us to stay, but we left to meet up with a friend in Memphis. I would definitely recommend going here if you want a taste of Southern hospitality and some sweet Tennessee wines.
