Specialties

We offer the freshest fruits and vegetables available from local growers. We make homemade jams, jellies, breads, pies and other delicacies. We serve home-style, «peas and cornbread» style food during our lunch hours.

History

Established in 1940.

The business first started when Mr. «Peaches» Jones peddled his homegrown peaches from a cart through the streets of Millington. During this time, the Jones’ also raised cattle and pigs and sold them to the local meat houses.

We then opened our location on Singleton Pkwy to allow us to branch out and provide customers with a wider variety of fruits and vegetables. They stopped raising cows, and transformed all of that land into produce growing land, and were able to grow a larger variety of produce. Peaches Jones had 2 sons, Lee and James Jones. Lee Helped his father on the farm until Peaches Jones death in 1979. Lee, his wife Juanita, and his son, Henry now operate Jones orchard, and have introduced 2 new locations, one on highway 51 and one on Walnut Grove, at the Agricenter.

Juanita started operating a kitchen, making all sorts of delicacies and opened up a restaurant on the Highway location. Henry has started branching out into farmer’s markets in Memphis. Check them out!

Meet the Manager

Lee J.

Manager

The son of the initial owner, and now father of 2 children. Mary and Henry Jones. Lee graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in agriculture in 1959. During college he raised and sold pigs to pay for his student costs.

Once he graduated from Martin, he moved back home and helped his father on the farm, and he has continued to introduce new varieties of peaches and new types of produce since then. Through thick and thin, he has been able to keep the peaches and Jones Orchard alive until now, Some might say he was born to farm, and that farming is his greatest aspiration. well, he has done an amazing job so far!
