Fieldstone Animal Inn

We took our dog here as first time customers for a «spa package.» Let me start off by saying that we were very excited to try this company, as we live near by and had heard great things about their dog care from friends of ours. We decided to get a Groupon for the «Dog Spa Package.» We dropped off our dog and were pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. However, less than 2 hours later, we receive a voicemail message from Fieldstone saying that Thor was «ready» to be picked up and that there had been «an issue» with his nail. The staff on the machine stated our dog had jumped on the fence and ripped his nail and was bleeding. As soon as I heard the message I called back the staff and was placed on hold for more than 9 minutes before hanging up and never being able to speak with a staff member.
I left my home to come as soon as I could to our dog and the staff at the desk tried explaining that they were busy and what had happened to our dog. They also told me that they were unable to cut the rest of our dogs nails on that paw because, he has tender and pulling back from what had happened to his nail. I ask if I can maybe assist with him so they can finish the nail job. They say that would be ok and walked me to the back where our dog was. Well my poor dog was shivering in the corner, bleeding onto the floor with no bandage or any attempt to help him.
They let him out to me, he is soaking WET, hair everywhere, not brushed and bleeding. I am not very pleased so far with what I see. I then have to ask the staff if they can bandage him so that I can put him in my car without him bleeding everywhere. So, a male staff helps to wrap his nail. I then ask why he is wet and not brushed, the same male staff says «oh I can do that for you if you want?» I am sorry if I want, it should have been done before I got there. I got the call saying he was ready to be picked up and he was clearly not only not done but, being given back to me injured. The female staff at the front desk says to clean the wound/​monitor it and maybe take him to the vet. I am sorry but, the company really should have offered to pay his vet bill when this happened while he was under your care. All around I am very not satisfied with the services that my dog received with this company. I reported all of this to their manager and sent a follow up email to the manager and didn’t hear back anything for over a week until I told them I would be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau! Then he says, I can bring in my dog for a free groom since I am not satisfied. I am sorry, I would never trust my dog in their hands again. I requested a refund instead and have still not heard back from them!

I have been taking my dog here for the past two years and it use to be great and now im currently looking for a new daycare. Since day one they have known my dog has food allergies and it was suppose to be put in his file but never was. I came in a couple weeks ago and asked about my dogs food and if he had any left because we bring his lunch everyday or we buy a small bag and leave it with them. The lady then tells me no he ate our food and I asked her do you know my dog has allergies and she says no. So I then inform her of all the things he is allergic too. Come in a week later to pick up my dog and there is the same lady, Jason, and another one who got my dog from the back trying to make him to a trick with a biscuit treat. Here is the deal my dog is allergic to grain, wheat, corn, soy, flour, and chicken. When I talked to Jason the manger he told me he knows nothing about it. Also, he tries to tell me that you all have treats that are for dogs with allergies which is a lie because back when it was St. Patty’s day I was told that even though I paid the extra 14 dollars to have diesel participate in in the festive activities he can not enjoy the treats like the other dogs because they KNEW he was ALLERGIC. Fast forward another week later and here is where i draw the line. My dog comes home with a huge gash on the side of his face and normally I know dogs play and can get scratches but DEEP GASHES are a no no. I asked what happened and the person who was suppose to be watching him says they don’t know. I ask for Jason the manager they tell me hes not there. Get home and decided to call to get the owners number and behold who answers the phone JASON. I asked Jason what is going on he first tells me he doesn’t know. Then I ask why nobody seems to know and why nobody is watching my dog like I have been paying all this money for them to do. Nobody can seem to answer that question either. Then Jason tries to tell me that my dog did it to him self and I lost it. He tried to tell me that my dog has a habit of intentionally running his face down the side of the fence to give himself a deep GASH. That’s the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard. I aked for the owners number so I could contact her about whats been going on and he said we cant give that to you but he gave me her email. I emailed this lady over 2 weeks ago and still no response. I asked that they call her and let her know that I am trying to get in touch and they claimed that they have but shes on vacation. I will say this like I said in my email I would like to keep coming here because at one point it was a great place but I will not unless someone get held responsible and changes are made.

My family has been bringing our pups to fieldstone for the past year. The staff is always friendly and our dogs love it there! They greet the staff with so many kisses and tail wags and jump right out of the car once they realize where they are. They do come out a little dirty sometimes so we make sure to ask that they get a rinse at the end because our boys love to roll around in mud. You honestly can’t beat the price for the area and the service you receive, not to mention how exhausted they are when they come home!

Will never take my dog back here again. Really need better communication on boarding prices during «peak» season! Having higher rates during «peak» season for dog boarding is insane in my book. Will not recommend this place. $ 37 for a 24 lb dog is robbery. If I could give no stars I would.

I purchased the spa voucher on Groupon and before I purchased I researched and read reviews, which all seem decent. When I dropped our dog off I couldn’t believe the smell in the lobby, it was awful! When I picked our dog up from being groomed, he was still wet and it didn’t look like his nails had been trimmed, which was included in the deal. I called the next day to speak with someone and she said she had to look into it and give me a call back, a week later and I still haven’t heard anything. I had to take him to Pet Smart the next day and spend another $ 12 for his nails to get trimmed, and yep… they definitely weren’t done during his grooming appointment. Secondly, I ended up dropping $ 170 at the vet a few days later to due ear infections in both ears from water getting inside of them. My vet suggested that I call and let them know because our poor little guy has severe yeast/​bacterial infections from both ears. She honestly said, «the infection is so severe that it looks like they took a hose and squirted it right into his ears.» I have been debating on calling and speaking with the owner or not because I didn’t even receive a response back about the nail trimming. Another voucher was purchased for our pet as a gift and I told them to contact Groupon for a refund because there was no way we are taking him back there! In addition, I tipped the girl $ 10 and for what… horrible service, not trimming my dogs nails, and a $ 170 vet bill!!!

I will absolutely never bring my pets here again.
I left our two dogs here over the weekend, dropping off Saturday around 9 and picking up Monday morning. I paid $ 50 per dog for the better bathing service.
When I picked up my dogs on Monday, they clearly smelled like feces. I assumed the male dog had probably stepped in something, and I was in a hurry to get to work, so I ignored it and went home. When I got home, I realized my dogs were covered in dried feces. There was clearly feces going down the front of the female dog’s chest, in her tail, all over her underside, and so on. The male dog had feces on his tail, his underside, and so on.
I would never return an animal to its owner covered in feces like this even if they hadn’t paid $ 100 for a bathing service. To pay that and then have my dogs returned in that manner is absolutely disgusting.
Every single person I talked to at Fieldstone gave me a different story. At one point I was told the dogs had diarrhea when they were dropped off, which seems odd to me – they were completely fine Saturday morning, and I had just taken them to the bathroom before bringing them in, and they were completely fine on Monday morning. One person told me it had happened because they bathed them on Sunday and thus it happened overnight; the actual letter I got from Fieldstone afterward said they were never bathed at all. When I initially called, the man who answered the phone, who had to have seen the condition they were in when he brought them out, laughed. I was told I would be contacted later in the day, and when I eventually had to call around 11 hours later, I had to go through the story again, because no one had been told about it. Luckily the woman I talked to on Monday night was pleasant and handled it quickly.
Our male dog is clutzy enough that he might lie down in feces, but the female dog has never even stepped in feces in her life. For her to be covered in it the way she was means that whatever enclosure they were kept in was absolutely coated in feces. Considering that they were in good health before dropoff and after pickup, and they stayed with Fieldstone for only around 45 hours, my suspicion is that they were placed in a dirty kennel and left there.
Even beyond that, apparently the $ 50/​animal bathing fee doesn’t even cover a simple combing, which is absurd. I’ve had decent full-​service grooming for what I paid for (theoretically) a bath and a nail trimming.
I wouldn’t come here again if it was free. Literally, because they offered free bathing to make up for it. Not interested.

Our dog comes for daycare at least a couple of days a week and loves it, and we board both our cat and dog on occasion. The staff really do care for them like family. We became acquainted with Fieldstone when we were searching for a daycare for our prior dog, who was elderly and cranky; when we dropped in to make enquiries they graciously offered us a tour and expressed complete confidence that they could handle him – and they did! I recommend them all the time and won’t take my pets anywhere else.

This place took horrible care for my dog. Boarded my dog here for the weekend. It was my last option, should have planned in advance to board my dog other places. My first impression of this was was just a mess. Lobby smelt horrible, was extremely loud in the kennel areas. I do have a question to why there are Rocks for the play areas and outside kennels. Some dogs eat rocks… My timing that I took a tour was not near pick up or drop off. So I’m assuming these dogs are just locked up and don’t really go outside much. I do however realize that when the dogs are outside they areNt supervised properly hence to why my dog came home with scratches all on her stomach. Then when I came and picked her up she had eye boogies like a mountain. First of all clean up a lil bit if she looks a mess, shouldn’t have to pay extra for you to grab a tissue and wipe her eyes. Second, they didn’t even tell me she was scratched up a bit until after I picked her up I called back to complain. The gentleman that answered the phone just seemed uneducated on anything that happens at the kennels. Didn’t seem to care at all. Worst kennel ever. Never recommending this place to anyone and most likely if I hear of anyone who does, they should stop. Had to give 1 star just cause it wouldn’t let me post it without a star. Good for you guys, on treating dogs like nothing.

This was my first visit to Fieldstone to have my St Bernard bathed. I purchased a Groupon and used it this past weekend. They did a fantastic job with Lovely. When I dropped her off I didn’t notice any of the dirt or filth that a previous review stated. The lobby was clean and the staff were very helpful. They even trimmed her paw fur to help her not slip in the tub. My dog came home clean, soft, happy and with cute bows in her hair.

Fieldstone kennel, near Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville, Md is a good cat kennel. The cats & dogs are kept in completely separate buildings on-​site. We used this kennel in 2013 and are booking it again in 2014. There are large multi-​level cells for each cat. Water & food is readily available. Experienced cat boarders know to bring your own cat food whenever you board if your cat has a sensitive tummy.

The lobby is filthy. When I arrived today it was covered in dirt, grime and hair. The smell was the «dirty dog» smell that usually is associated with an unclean daycare. I have been to a dozen different daycares and never have I heard the dogs barking non-​stop. My dogs spent the day in boarding, and still came home filthy.
This place was recommended by MWR at Ft Meade, and would not suggest they make it again. Will not be returning.

Not a full groom salon as they don’t have someone to cut/​trim dog hair. Otherwise, my dogs got clean here.

Fieldstone provides such a fun great place for my dog to play each day. The staff knows him by name and he comes home happy and tired. Staff obviously loves what they do each day and my dog could not be in better hands!

I have nothing but good things to say about Fieldstone Animal Inn. I took my dog here once for boarding when my husband and I were going out of town one Thanksgiving, and I have to admit, they were my second choice. I wasn’t sure what to expect since our first option was all booked, but I took the chance, and I’m glad I did! My dog was perfectly happy when we returned, and better yet, the fee was even cheaper than I would normally be charged per day.
I also love that Fieldstone holds semi-​annual «open house» days, where you can take your family and pooch in tow, and enjoy festivities (which included food, fun activities, free nail clippings, and vendors) all for FREE. You can’t beat that. We went to their fall event, «Dogtober fest» today, and my dog loved every minute. He even got a goodie bag with a huge bone treat for free. He enjoyed seeing all the other pups as well. We plan on coming back for the Spring Egg hunt next year.
Every member of the staff is very friendly, and they are very dedicated to providing good customer service. You aren’t just another number here. I have chosen my primary spot now to take my dog whenever we need boarding.
Go ahead and give this place a try! You will not be disappointed.

Fieldstone Is Wonderful! My Sweetie can’t wait to go there for daycare or boarding. In fact, I have to keep it a secret until its time to go or she will sit by the door and whine until I take her. As soon as we arrive they greet her by name and she jumps up to hug and give them kisses. I never worry about her, whether she’s happy or well care for — they do a great job and it shows. Thank you Fieldstone for taking the care of our Sweetie and all other animals so personal — I will always recommend you.

I have brought my dog here in multiple occasions and until Saturday felt that the place was safe and Rocko was well cared for. On Saturday Rocko (my 50lb Boxer) played in «the gravel» (according to the worker) and thus he came home with severe painful and bloody paws. He can not walk on one front paw at all and I’m taking him to the vet today. I called the place and asked what happened and the response I received is «it’s the gravel, dogs at doggie day care play in the gravel, it’s in the contract you signed». I was then told there are ways they prevent this if you but you have to purchase a special cream. Didn’t realize that doggie daycare was going to hurt my dog and then not have any consideration for their customers. How terrible.
