I’ll just be honest. I popped by because this location used to be Madsen, my old auto mechanic. I had been really confused why it looked like a parking lot.
The guys were super nice and offered to install a battery I brought for nothing. I’m not sure why. I tipped some cash I had in my pocket from ubering, for the kindness.

Hands down best prices around. I had a clutch/​flywheel assembly done on my 2002 cummins. Excellent work and even changed the fluid on my trans and tcase for free (brought my own fluid). The only complaint I had is I never got any follow ups I always had to call until it was done. No big deal though, my truck was done in a timely matter and when I went to pay for the work done they advised me I had a couple bad seals/​gaskets on the trans and tcase that they replaced for free. Overall, excellent experience I would definitely recommend to a friend and will be going back for any trans work I may need done in the future.

Overall experience was very good. would give 4.5 if I could, only reason it wasn’t a 5 is because repair took longer than originally thought and after getting my car back I had to take it back in to get a vacuum leak repaired that they didn’t see originally but there was no extra charge for this. Got out of there for under $ 200 when I had taken it in thinking I would need a full transmission rebuild, ended up being only the cylanoid. I would recommend them to anyone who has any tranny issues on their cars, workers were very honest and up front!

Extremely helpful and explained very easily for my understanding. They stayed open late to replace my transmission my Chevy Silverado 2001 so that I could pick up my truck the same day. I trust these guys for sure and recommend anyone to see them. they are also very honest with great warranty policies.

It seems to me the 5 star review on this shop have been placed by the owner most likely.
I decided to take my truck here after reading the reviews on Unilocal.I dropped my truck off and was told they would have my trans out by Monday and call me. Well by Tuesday night I hadn’t heard from them. I called the shop just to be given a couple excuses. The next day the same thing. By Thursday when I called the excuses were completely different. By Friday after having a rental car for over a week I just had to go pick my truck back up with the same trans problem it had when I left it there.

First time I’ve given a review on Unilocal.I’ve used it many times; however, to find a good place to do business with. I’m so glad I used it to find a reliable transmission shop. TRANSMISSION MAN was FANTASTIC! This company is honest, reliable and very service oriented.
My son’s transmission gave out. We had to have his car towed, it was so bad. Tom was on it and gave me an honest assessment: repair a broken hose and several quarts of transmission fluid. $ 40 later, we were driving it home.
They could have easily raked me over with some expensive, non — essential repair, and I would have never known. Not Tom. Very stand up guy.

My ’04 Honda Odyssey started having trouble changing gear. I talked to my trusted family mechanic and learned that Odyssey’s usually need a new transmission around 150k miles, which is what mine is at. I was quoted $ 2500 – 3500. I talked to a family member’s trusted mechanic and got the same quote. Then my brother told me to go to Transmission Man. He had used them and only had the highest praise to give.
Larry is the owner and is great to work with. I was quoted $ 1900 and was told my car would be done on Wednesday. When I picked up my car, my total came to $ 1939.91. That’s an amazing price for a transmission. Larry told me to bring the car back in 500 miles so he could check it.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. Transmission are an awful repair to have to do, but they make it more affordable.
They do free diagnostics and free towing with service.

My 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel with 170k has a shifting problem. I took it to, let’s say a «nation wide transmission shop» in Salt Lake. I just wanted the transmission serviced. Of course, I got a call an hour later informing me of the tragic news that I need a new transmission. After asking what led them to that decision they said the fluid was dark and the magnet had a lot of fuzz on it. The cost would be $ 2600 plus any internal parts that may be damaged. Being a skeptic by nature I told them to just service the transmission and I would come get it. They refused to change the filter and fluid saying the detergents in the new fluid would cause more damage. Ok, fine. I picked it up and was not charged, which was nice. Though they made it sound like the transmission was a ticking time bomb and that I shouldn’t drive it. I knew that that may well be true, but there are a whole host of things that could be wrong to cause shifting problems. I wanted to investigate further before I threw down 2600 smackers. I took it to the Dodge dealer in Bountiful for a service and diagnostic. They serviced the transmission and checked for codes. They also tightened the two adjustable bands. They informed me that the wheel speed sensor mounted on the rear differential was faulty and that it may cause shifting issues. I decided to do the $ 250 repair myself as it is a $ 40 part and one bolt. Alas, it did not fix it. The mechanic at the dealer recommended updating the software, but other than that, it may need a rebuild. He estimated $ 3000 – 8000 depending on how awesome I wanted it. He updated the software and again adjusted the bands, to no avail. I needed a transmission rebuild. I called around to multiple shops and found that I could have it done for 1500 – 2000 bucks. When I Googled transmission shops I saw Transmission Man’s high reviews. I contacted them and was impressed with their knowledge of that particular transmission, the 47re. They quoted me $ 1650. They said they could do it in 2 – 3 days, which was important as I was leaving town for 6 weeks Thursday morning. I dropped it off on a Sunday night at 10pm and called their number to leave a message. The phone was answered, Tyler was in the back working on his personal vehicle. I felt very comfortable leaving my truck in his hands, he was very knowledgeable and seemed very honest. I told him I had to fly out Thursday morning and he said he would get it done by Wednesday. They were still working on it Wednesday afternoon as they ran in to a few issues. By tightening the bands, the dealer’s mechanic caused the bands to rub on the «drum» for lack of a better word, ruining the internal piece. The diesel uses a different «drum» than the gas engines so they had to search all over to find one. They told me they would still get it ready on time. Tyler called me late in the afternoon and said that he would work in to the night to get it ready and if that was OK call me whenever he got done. I was more that impressed with his dedication. I said call anytime. At 11:30, again, 11:30 PM Tyler called me and told me the truck was ready. When we picked it up I thanked him and asked how much it would be for the replaced «drum». He said «nothing», he stands by his quote. It’s sad that this level of work ethic and dedication is shocking in our modern world. I have never been so happy to pay a person for their service. I can not recommend them enough. They made a customer for life out of me and mine. Oh ya, the truck runs shifts great too.
