You have to go and try the«pub burger»!!! One of, if not the best burger I ever had! The burger is topped with brisket(almost like a «Chicago style» beef that you would find in the windy city on one of their famous italian beef sandwiches) it was so tender with an amazing sauce/gravy. The brisket on top of a perfectly cooked burger with cheddar and thinly sliced pickles. It was off the charts! I will definitely go back just for the burger. The crab cake appitizer was also top notch. Go try it!!!

We stopped in here for after dinner drinks on a Saturday. Waitresses were friendly. Drinks were good and there were plenty of top shelf choices. Furniture and décor is somewhat midcentury in influence. Sit near the door if you are looking to chat, or at the far end if you are looking to watch the game. Last call comes a bit early. People coming up from the wedding found that the barmaid wouldn’t pour them a drink at 1:45AM. The Retreat closes at 2.

This place is okay. It’s a nice little lounge for a drink and to meet up with a coworker or friend. Overpriced but it’s the short hills Hilton so expected

I have to travel every week for work, i am used to crappy restaurant hotel food, but this place took the cake. I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich since i figured i am close enough to philly that surely someone here has eaten a proper cheesesteak sandwich and should be able to replicate it. Boy was i wrong, it was so disgusting i could not eat it. Fried jalapeños on top, dry«meat», and the bread was so hard i had to try and cut it with a knife. I sent it back and refused to eat anything else from here. Did i mention it took 35 minutes for me to get my meal? Yes, 35 minutes for a sandwich. Spare yourself and go out and get something to eat if you stay at the hilton short hills.

I arrived too late to eat anywhere but the hotel and was a bit hesitant. I shouldn’t have been! The Retreat provided a comfortable, open atmosphere with a variety of seating opens to choose from. My Caesar salad was huge and very fresh and the appetizers interesting and varied. The salad entrée was $ 14 and the appetizers $ 12. Fairly typical hotel restaurant pricing. Try the grilled pretzel bread with bacon cheese. Very tasty! Despite being very crowded the service was efficient and friendly. A very nice surprise! Also, not smoky or overly loud!

Your typical hotel lounge and bar, but without enough TVs to support the potential crowds. Only two beers are on tap, however, they do have plenty of options when it comes to bottles. You can also get food pretty late, but it comes over from the hotel restaurant. Overall, I hope you can tell why I landed on an ‘A-Ok’ rating!
