Outpatient Physical Therapy Services provided for all musculokeletal and orthopaedic conditions for patient of all ages including all post-op rehabilitation (i.e… rotator cuff repairs, ACL reconstructions, Total Knee Replacements, etc.) Also specializing in the treatment of adolescent sports injuries. Our experienced staff provides a manual therapy, hands-on approach and specializes in providing personal care.
History
Established in 1985.
Sports Training Physical Therapy was founded in 1985 by Maureen Broderick Wilhelm, PT, DPT as a private practice physical therapy facility. Beginning with its first office in West Orange, NJ Sports Training Physical Therapy (STPT) grew from a single clinician to a facility treating more than 400 patients/week. From 1990 to 1997, STPT opened 9 additional clinics throughout New Jersey before being purchased by HealthSouth in July 1997.
In 2004 Maureen returned to the private practice arena and re-opened Sports Training Phsyical Therapy with the support of many of her original staff memebers. Maureen has again opened 9 new office locations thoughtout New Jersey which provide the extraordinary quality care and patient focus that Sports Training Physical Therapy has been renowned for.

Maureen graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. In December 2010 Maureen received her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the EIM Institute of Health Professions and completed the Executive Program in Private Practice Management. Maureen began her career in Houston, Texas at Park Plaza Hospital working in an acute care environment. In 1983 Maureen returned to her east coast roots and joined Sports Training Physical Therapy of New York as the Assistant Director of Physical Therapy.
In 1985 Maureen opened Sports Training Physical Therapy of New Jersey working hand in hand with the well known personal training facility, Sports Training Institute. Maureen has been in the outpatient orthopaedic environment for the last 25 years specializing in sports medicine.
Maureen is an active member of the Private Practice Section of the National APTA and currently sits on the PPS Business Model Task Force.
