Cathy S.

Manager

Cathy Shanks was appointed to her current position as Branch Manager of George T. Whalen Insurance, a division of Marshall & Sterling, in April 2009. Previously, she served as Assistant Branch Manager, with administrative and operational oversight of both commercial and personal lines accounts, claims and coordination and cultivation of new business development. Cathy and her team concentrate on commercial and personal insurance clientele in central and eastern Dutchess County, NY, providing a broad range of commercial liability coverages, property and casualty, workersÍ compensation, risk analysis and management, and loss control services, as well as safety policies and programs. A 28-​year veteran of the insurance industry, Cathy is a graduate of Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is licensed by the New York State Insurance Department as a Property and Casualty Broker.
