The Third Eye Restaurant & Bar family heartily welcomes you to enjoy our deliciously hand crafted meal and delicately chosen beverages. The restaurant is owned and daily operated by the seasoned professionals having over decade long experience in the business and graduation in hospitality industry.

Our menu is compilation of precise California products based on the unique Indian and Himalayan flavor profile. It incorporates superb collections of delicacies in fusion mostly from India, Nepal and Tibet in addition to some exotic foods that one needs to try at least once in a life time. All you can eat in nominal price — Lunch buffets having diverse platters freshly made and hot naan bread served on your table. In the dinner time we have exclusive a-​la-​carte menu — you choose what you want.

We also have a full bar to serve wide selections of refreshing cocktails, beers, wines and liquors accompanied with multiple flat screened TVs where you can enjoy your favorite live sports and entertainments. We also have additional fine dinning hall for you, which could accommodate 88 people, if you love peaceful elegant dinner with your loved ones.

We organize events and parties in the restaurant and cater food pursuant to our costumers’ need.

Established in 2014.

The Third Eye Restaurant and Bar is a replacement of old establishment of Rosie’s Cantina of Millbrae (an old Mexican Restaurant). We have fully remodeled from top to bottom to reflect the Indian/​Himalayan culture. We are 3 owners in the restaurant:

— Laxman Adhikari has been involved in hospitality business since 1991 and worked in fine dining environment in Asia, Europe and US. Mr. Adhikari handles the marketing, external activities, legal matters and corporate relationship.

— Subash Khanal is the executive chef at the Third Eye. Mr. Khanal is a graduate from Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management, a culinary academic degree, with extensive experience in Michelin Star restaurant (All Spices San Mateo) and corporate environment (Bön Apetit, Oracle, Inc.). Mr. Khanal is also a founding chef of Milan Restaurant Milpitas.

— Rabi Sharma handles costumer service and food/​beverage handling. Mr. Sharma is also a graduate from Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management, a culinary academic degree, with extensive experience in Nepal and US. Mr. Sharma had his own culinary school named Everest Culinary school in Nepal. He is ready to work inside and outside as per the need of restaurant.

Arrived 30 minutes late.
Food was under-​spiced/​seasoned in general.
The saag was particularly disappointing, it felt like eating butter.
The curry chicken inedible. Not only did they not bother to debone it, but the bones were broken, leaving shards of broken bone scattered about in the curry. Almost every bite was either biting into bone, or spitting out bone-​shards.

Check out the lunch buffet! For 12.99 it’s a fantastic bargain. Their butter chicken is soo delicious! Loved dipping my naan in the sauce and inhaling it all at once. The chicken tandoori is also wonderful. Good spot to watch games as well! Attentive service! Dinner is pretty pricey but still a great meal.

I liked it. My cousin said it’s not as good as the last Indian place we went to back down in the South Bay though.
So 4 – 5 stars on my end. It probably wasn’t the best place.
But, it was still really good. We did the buffet. I really enjoyed their pakoras. I wasn’t a fan of the fish dish just because of the bones (not that it wasn’t good). It wasn’t bad for the price and the amount of food choices they had.
Ask for the pineapple ice cream! It’s really good, but they give you like a tiny scoop in a black sauce cup thing (maybe try asking for a bigger portion somehow. e.g.: small bowl? or cup?

Unilocal has it right. Woohoo! This is as good as it gets. Value, Portion Size, service, and everything in between. Their flavor profiles are amazing to say the least, and the chef is on point with the food consistency, and are pushing the boundaries of what should be a good brunch. I mean, Rabbit curry anyone?!
I’ve been a long-​time guest since they opened, but just recently had to go and write a review after seeing the incredibly biased and emotion-​fueled one-​star reviews on their delivery service. Just to make it clear, this is a small business and not a chain restaurant. This place is full of dedicated people that are passionate about their food! If you want the best experience, then get up off your couch and go there. You can’t judge their food based on a 45 minute delivery time.
Their butter chicken is the best I’ve ever had. If you are a real foodie and would like to taste real delicious food, then I suggest not listening to the negative reviews and eat here!

Beware, previously, the food was good.
Now in 2016, you get:
— Small portions
— Irregularly cooked chicken (e.g. dry tandoori)
— Crispy, dried-​out naan (yes, really).
— Unpredictable delivery times.
— Creepy owner who seems to enjoy writing long reply comments to bad reviews, instead of fixing the problems.
They may need a Fourth and Fifth Eye on food quality and delivery service.

Overall, it was very good.
Pros:
* Everything was good, curry fish was the best, butter chicken and okra also very good
* Easy to get in, get seated and get fed quickly with kids
* Bonus points for airing soccer amidst the baseball
Cons:
* Ordering a beer was unnecessarily complicated, esp for a place that bills itself as partially a bar. Took three asks and two waiters
* The atmosphere leaves a good bit to be desired — weird space and décor
* $ 13 is on the high end for an Indian buffet

They have a good variety of Indian/​Himalayan food for their lunch buffet! Normally, the quality of the food at lunch buffets are mediocre. However, most items at this lunch buffet were delicious! They make the food according to the flow of people during their lunch. Also, my friends and I really appreciated the cleanliness of this place.

Been here numerous times after our honeymoon in Nepal back in 2014! This is the most authentic Nepali restaurant on the West Coast we’ve tried.
Wait staff: can I just adopt all of them?!? :) They are as nice as the people from Nepal… because many of them are Nepali. :) Super nice, friendly, attentive.
Food highlights:
1. Buffalo Momos (dumplings) — always delicious, dumpling wrappers are light and tasty. Comes with 2 dipping sauces.
2. Welcome to the Jungle (assorted tandoori platter) — has chicken, lamb, sausage. Super tasty if you want to try different meats. Good to share for 2 people or more.
3. Saag paneer — goodness gracious I think they make everything by hand! The cheese cubes are spectacular and super fresh.
4. Butter chicken — can’t go wrong with this dish!
5. Goat curry — again, superbly done!
6. Naan — our favorite is the butter naan, they don’t skimp on the butter.
Comparisons: no comparisons to another place (yet); our #1 Nepali place to go!

It is an award winning restaurant that they have proven it to me today. First thing they offered me a FREE MOMO AND A GLASS OF RED WINE. I loved it. MOMO sampler is just mouth watering. My friend ordered Lamb curry and Garlic Naan. It is damn yummy. Our server is very polite/​professional. So far quite impressed. Definitely will come again… Keep up the good work Lux. Your team is great!!!

Winning buffet!
I rarely do buffet anymore. They’re generally disappointing and I’m not into quantity over quality.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the buffet here at Third Eye. The food was delicious and the meat tender and succulent. I honk their secret is that they don’t load up the chafing dishes too high. Instead they put in just enough to last a short while then add as needed. This helps to make sure everyone is getting a freshly cooked serving.
Everything was tasty, and there was a generous selection. I liked eggplant masala and aloo gobi was quite good too. My favorites, though, were the meats, the goat curry, the fish curry and most of all, the butter chicken.
The butter chicken was so rich and delicious, that I couldn’t help but go back for more.
Service is friendly and not too busy on a wet Sunday for a late lunch. We really enjoyed lunch here and recommend! :)

Overpriced and mediocre delivery with a $ 50 minimum. This is what I got for over $ 50:
1. Butter chicken — Tasted like leftover chicken from their buffet that they put sauce over
2. Tandoori chicken — Dry, overcooked, and small portions
3. Saag — The seasonings were all totally off and it was extremely salty. This dish got thrown away after one bite.
4. Garlic naan & Rice — OK but not great. This is what got us full.
Never ordering from them again.

What an interesting place! My friend and I were looking for a bar and restaurant by SFO airport to grab a bite before my flight. We decided to check this place out since we were craving Indian food and this place also had alcohol. I was curious to see why it was categorized as a sports bar in addition to a restaurant. We got there about 7pm or so. Parking was tight so we parked around the block in the neighborhood.
The décor was very peculiar! In the front was a regular sports bar and then in the back was a formal dining room. The dining room looks like it was a former church? There are stained glass and arches along the wall. The menu was hilarious with the drinks being in a time format rather than dollars. We couldn’t stop laughing!
Our server was very nice and friendly. He recommended Dal makhani (vegetarian) in addition to our order of Chicken Vindaloo. To start, we ordered the Samosa which was delicious with 2 different chutneys. The Dal makhani along with the cumin rice we ordered was pretty tasty for a vegetarian dish! Very spicy but full of flavor. The Chicken Vindaloo was my favorite though. So creamy with a nice hint of spice. I also really enjoyed my house Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa which complemented my meal nicely. Overall, I’ll definitely return whenever I am near SFO airport!

Living in Embassy Suites Waterfront, there aren’t many choices for food. This place is one of my favorite places to order takeout/​delivery! Sure, sometimes they are 30 – 60 minutes later than the estimate given from Grubhub/​Eat24 and they don’t give any utensils, but the butter masala and samosa chicken tikki wrap and garlic naan are just so good that I keep coming back!

I’ve searched high and low for a butter chicken dish comparable to one I really enjoyed at this amazing hotel in the PI. The search isn’t quite over yet but the butter chicken here definitely satisfies the craving. I eat this stuff from a bowl like it’s straight up soup. So bad. yet so very good. The bread they serve complements the meal well too. Bomb. Naan sayin?!
Come here hungry and you can’t go wrong with a $ 10.99 lunch buffet special.

I love it!
My wife and I love indian food and being from Millbrae I saw the owner’s passionate post on Nextdoor.
The food takes a little bit to cook because its FRESH. I’m just sad I didn’t see that they take fivestar as a loyalty rewards.
We got tikka, lamb vindaloo (could’ve been spicier!), and lentils.
Oh they also have this amazing naan that has peppers in addition to garlic.
Food was fresh and we had enough for 2 leftover meals after pigging out. Not the cheapest but quality doesn’t come cheap.
To top it all off there was a nicely stocked bar and we watched the warriors thump the cavaliers on multiple big screen TVs.
Definitely will be back.

This is a very nice restaurant. I love the lunch buffet. The naan (bread) is fresh & delicious. The entire set up is beautiful inside. Nice tables, and there are hooks under the bar to hold your purse so it is not on the floor or sitting on top of the bar. They thought of everything here. The menu is on the pricey side. I will go back for the buffet. I would like to see more variety in the sauces, e.g. curry, coconut, etc. The service is impeccable. Very accommodating staff.

Word to the wise: they have extremely small portions.
We ordered $ 60 worth of food (5 different dishes), and received food that would be enough for approximately one person. That alone is a huge strike-​out in my book. The containers of the dishes we ordered came literally half-​filled. I get that they’re going for a fancy style of restaurant, but it was an extremely, extremely disappointing experience.
The one saving grace was their wild boar sekuwa. Smallest serving ever (one small cup), but a decent dish, at least. Their food isn’t bad at all, but seriously — we paid $ 10 for about one chicken breast that was sliced, diced, and cooked. Insulting, man.
Sorry, Third Eye, won’t be wasting money on your over-​priced, paltry portions again.
UPDATE: They decided to text my fiancé regarding my personal Unilocal review this evening, which I believe is highly inappropriate. The views expressed were my own, I’m fairly certain that sharing your personal mobile number for an order and then having it abused by a company to express displeasure & threaten to come to your home is unprofessional, and I don’t think you need to ask him to come up with a price point for ANY item on your menu. Customer service here is invasive and unprofessional. Any positive experience from the food itself was wiped away by this act.

Strictly speaking food and flavor, this place was pretty good. Butter chicken marsala was quite good. Rich, creamy with big butter flavor accompanying the regular spices. The chicken was pretty tender and the whole thing went very well with any of the many naan options. Rice is also a good starch to go with. This dish itself was very good which is why this place deserves this rating.
The service is decent. I went when there was literally nobody in the dining room, and I had a hard time hearing what the soft spoken servers tried to say. They were very nice though. But to me, I cannot justify paying this price for their curries. They’re good, but I wouldn’t consider this an expensive cuisine. They try to make the décor upscale, so I guess they’re just trying to match the price with that, but it’s just too expensive for me especially when the starches are not even included in this price.

Not sure how this place got so many positive reviews. We went on christmas eve. The place was open which was good and there was hardly any rush. From there it was all downhill.
In spite of less rush our food arrived 30 min after order. The quality was poor and food was stale. Any avg indian/​nepali restaurant can be much better.

Good stuff. We had the buffet. I especially loved their baigun bharta, as it featured huge chunks of eggplant, which I’ve never seen prepared the same way at any other Indian restaurant. All other meat and veggie dishes were fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. Nothing overly spicy on the buffet, but that seems to be standard among Indian buffets in this area.
The price was reasonable, and extra points for offering a children’s price. My kid loved it.

Came by with a friend for the lunch buffet.
Pretty busy for weekday lunch. All the tables were full so we ended up sitting at a little bar table.
Small selection. Nothing spectacular. The naan was bland. Some places include bits of minced garlic on their naan.
Would have been 3 stars for average Indian food.
Minus 1 star for poor service
We stayed there for about 40 mins. Aside from my first plate of food, they never added more tandoori chicken. Everyone took all the chunks of goat meat whenever a fresh batch came out. You must constantly watch the kitchen door and be ready to get up when they add more food to the buffet. Otherwise a dude in front of you might take all the meat. There is only about 2 fistful worth goat meat each batch. Which would be gone after two-​three big scoops. Kitchen needs to pump out food faster.
Since my friend and I sat on a little bar table, there wasn’t much room to put aside our dirty plates. We ended up stacking our new plates of food on top of the old ones. Went up to 4 stacks before a sever came by to take away the plates. I ordered a mango Lassi. Friend had water. Sever never came by to refill his water.
Two stars for horrible lunch buffet experience. Maybe dinner is better.

Had to venture «north» to the city on an errand today & decided to skip the Financial District’s inflated prices & lunchtime crowd to try something new (to me) in the MIllbrae area. Well, thank you, Unilocal!
Being in the holistic healing business, of course the name of this place caught my eyes (all 3 of them). I was expecting to walk in to find colorful silken brocade, the smell of Nagchampa incense. Actually, this place has a spacious/​clean sports bar-​type feel, friendly service, interesting music mix (including «classics» such as «Moon River», «Tennessee Waltz», etc., & DELICIOUS food. The buffet might be on the smaller side compared to some others, BUT… every single dish I tried was delicious & fresh, & it only cost $ 10.99!
You had a nice mix of meat & purely vegetarian dishes & the buffet includes the naan (usual) & the hot «chai» tea (not so commonly included, I find). Though butter chicken is always a crowd-​pleaser, I especially enjoyed their eggplant dish, which had a slight smokey flavor & freshly chopped cilantro sprinkled on top. I enjoyed everything I tried, pakoora, zuchinni dish, curries, lentil, & spinach dishes. Plus, their version of the rice dessert pudding was different than the thinner one I was used to but so delicious with its combo of delicate spices. All in all, I felt each one of the items I tried had their own unique, delicate but delicious twist to it.
The next time I’m «up north», I’m definitely coming back!

Very disappointed. I ordered food for delivery. Minimum 30.00 for delivery which I can understand, was told will take 45 minutes, requested to deliver quicker if possible. Almost an hour after three calls the food is not deliver and the restaurant is only 10 minutes drive from WestIn where I am staying. This place is joke for delivery. Unilocal should definitely take a note of this and contact the owner. I am going to warn other Unilocalers to not to order food for delivery from this place. I am hungry mad and upset. What a waste of my time and money .
They may be over an hour late in delivery but the food was really tasty. I ordered vegetarian and it was very tasty. I will update my review after a sit down dinner soon.

For $ 11 you can check out the Indian lunch buffet. It’s actually in a cute area with tons of Asian restaurants and bakeries. That was fun walking around before coming here.
In any case it’s a large restaurant but for lunch they put everyone towards the front. The buffet itself is about 8 main items including the rice pudding dessert.
It’s pretty good quality meats and the various dishes are well done. It’s not the most flavorful I’ve had but it’s still good. I think the rice pudding is one of the better ones I’ve had because it’s not watery.
Hot chai tea is part of the buffet.

This place is authentic and delicious! You can order just about anything for a sweeter version of Indian food with an Asian influence. I’d order a mango lassi to counter anything spicy to sweeten your meal.

Overall an average experience. Food was excellent, a little overpriced however service was slow and waiters were not attentive.
Wild buffalo appetizers were decent, nice presentation and interesting flavors. naan was quite delicious with Tikka masala.
Layout is interesting and a bit unexpected. Sports bar in front and nicer dining area in the back. It’s worth trying for some unique items but be aware dinner service can take awhile.

Ever since The Third Eye opened, I had been wanting to check out their lunch buffet. And waiting. Because as much as I’ve been longing for something different to open up in Millbrae, I couldn’t go on just any day. At least, not on a day when my favorite dish (Butter Chicken) wasn’t being offered!
Although the area by the bar looks a bit dim and dated, the place is definitely an upgrade over the Mexican restaurant they took over. While I can’t comment on the regular menu, the lunch buffet has a pretty good range of dishes, including several vegetarian options ($ 10.99). Plus, since the offerings rotates daily, there’s a better than decent chance no two trips will be exactly alike (there’s a menu board outside):

Of the bunch, I thought the Butter Chicken and Chicken Curry were the highlights. Neither quite match up with my go-​to spot in SF, but both were still pretty solid (albeit a bit rich). The Aloo Bodi Tama wasn’t bad either, but the rest of the dishes didn’t really excite me. At the same time though, I should note that none of them «failed» either. Rather, it might have just been a matter of taste/​preference, as several dishes were heavy on spices/​aromatics that I just didn’t care for.
Given their mostly positive Unilocal reviews, The Third Eye may still be worth a go. I may not be the biggest fan of Himalayan food, but I can see why they are relatively well received — service is very friendly/​attentive and their «plus» dishes are good. For that reason, I’ll probably be back at some point to try something off of their regular menu, since that would be a better way to gauge their food.

Relatively new restaurant in downtown Millbrae serving authentic Indian and Himalayan cuisine. The place replaced the long running Rosie’s Cantina. Décor was new and clean, and slightly brighter than Rosie’s. Service was friendly, but the wait for our entrees ruined the entire experience in a Friday night. It basically took 15 minutes to take our order and then total about 45 minutes to receive our entrees. I don’t know about you, but when something takes that long, the staff should check on you and offer an appetizer or something that will help pass the time.
Overall, the food was tasty once it arrived. Freshly baked garlic and butter naan were excellent for dipping into the curry and masala dishes. We had the Butter Chicken Masala (savory and tasty but skimped on the chicken), the Goam Shrimp Curry Had a nice sauce, and fair amount of shrimp, the Chaan masala was just OK, and our least favorite was the Seekh Lamb Kebab (dry even with the sauces).
It’s going to take a lot to get me back here for dinner, but maybe a lunch buffet at 10.99 (no waiting) might be the better choice (I’ve read good things). So not coming back for dinner but might come back for lunch.

A friend bought a groupon so we decided to celebrate one of our friends daughter’s bday.
Service is amazing. The two servers were very attentive and very helpful.
We ordered eggplant, shrimp, chicken, spinach, nan and roti.
The food was very tasty and it had just the right spices.
Will definitely have to come back.
